Hotel needs a refurb. Ok breakfast, wouldn't want to stay longer than one night. Only saving grace is its ideal location for Manchester Academy. Room had strong smell of cigarette smoke. Did not try shower as there was a sign up saying it did not work very well, cubicle also dirty. Basic facilities, bed not very comfortable, needs a refurb.

The price and free car parking facilities. Also the breakfast was in with the price and was very nice indeed. Although the rooms were clean and tidy, do feel it could do with a refurb.

Having read the reviews i was not exspecting the worse.. However, although the room was out dated. it was clean and tidy. It is perfect if you are going to watch a gig at the manchester Academy..Free parking and the breakfast was decent.. would stay again in similar circumstances

If u want a perfect hotel theres always the hilton, yes its not prefect and the beds a bit old but its not a bad place. Free parking and great full english every morning for £50 a night is'nt that bad. Easy for getting to the city centre on the bus and the academy is round the corner! Far from perfect but hey its pretty cheap!

I was so dissapointed with the hotel I did not even stay the second night, so I would like my money back but I dont suppose for one minute I will get it. It was shoddy, unfriendly, noisy, dirty. Big dissapointment.

The breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and the location is a 5 minate walk from the curry mile. Our room was cold, the bathroom floor was freezeing, it only had a 3 quarter bedand could do with being updated abit.

It was very convenient for the Academy for a gig. The room smelt musty. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The day we were there it had been raining, so getting from the car park into the hotel was a minefield of massive puddles.

It was appalling - possibly the worst place I've ever tried to stay, and I've lived in huts in trees in Thailand. From the broken blinds, missing light bulbs and shower that needed pliers to adjust the temperature and the fractured power socket hanging off the wall. I have not selected any of the above options because Dire and Grim were not options. And for £50? At £15 at least you'd expect this quality.

I didn't like anything about this hotel it was the worst place I've stayed and I a lot of working away The bathroom above was leaking into my room through the ceiling. It was dirty smelt of damp the bed sheets were not clean the car park was tiny and used for the public so when I come to get my van out in the morning I was blocked in and had the workmen across the road to shit the cars and vans around so I could get out

The staff were friendly and helpful. The free car park was a bonus. Very basic - broken toilet seat and no seat in the hotel room to sit on if you want to do your hair or make-up.

It was reasonably cheap and wasn't far from the city centre. The bathroom was filthy and actually smelled the whole room out. The tv only gave 3 channels.

The location was perfect for us as we were going to a gig at the Academy and it was only a short walk with a few bars along the way too. Although the room was small and basic it was perfect as just a bed for the night. The breakfast was also very nice and with free car parking was great value for money. Would recommend for anyone who isn't that fussy. It's not something that bothered us but we had a double room and the bed was not a full double bed, also the bathroom was very small.

Staff were friendly and room was clean. Parking was easy to access and was free. We attended a gig which is why we stayed here. We weren't too concerned about minor details, however, all bed/desk lamps either had bulbs missing or didn't work and there were very few plug sockets within the vicinity of a mirror (which was tiny). Tricky when two of you want to get ready to go out! Having to check-out by 10am we felt was a tad early and we were knocked up at 9.45 am to remind us of same. We didn't try the TV (probably the smallest on the planet) but were given a remote at check-in (which was bigger than the TV)!

“The hotel is in a really good location as we were up to visit the university, right in the heart of it all but tucked away. The price is just great and the room was large and airy. bathroom was a good size with a new shower area. The room has begun to be decorated and when complete is will look more modern. The breakfast was a surprise as it said continental and I expected a cold meal (for the price not much either) and we got an egg with toast! Couple of choices of cereal, tea, coffee and lovely fruit juice - just enough to get you up and out.” Georgette, Romsey |
