The staff were fantastic - couldn't do enough to help, food was lovely, bed was nicer than mine own at home and generally a great trip!
Wifi was a bit off and on but worked more than it didn't.
Friendliness of staff. Quality of the food. Ease of parking. Cosiness of the establishment.Overall excellent value for money. Would give it more points than some 4 star hotels.
Really no negative points.
Comfy beds Hot deep bath Staff friendly...sent back a left adaptor no problem
carpet bit worn in room
The food was excellent and plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble and the owners were exceptionally nice. We cant wait to return.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Friendly welcoming staff, value for money in a great rural location.
Lack of soap.
The room was booked for my Italian guest who likes old buildings . He seemed to find everything OK and staff very helpful.
The food at lunchtime was great as was the service. We'll meet up here again because of this. Breakfast good and felt relaxed.
The room felt a bit tatty, worn furnishings and bathroom could do with refurbishment. No hairdrier or shampoo supplied. Very limited choice of (real ale) beer available.
Lovely friendly atmosphere and great staff made me feel extremely welcome. I will definitely be paying another visit even if it's just for a drink.
Good food, clean rooms, pleasant service

15th Century building, food and staff
Tiny single room in friont of hotel just aboce main road, traffic noise all night long, no sound proofed windows, old sash type. Tok some time to find the sink in the room, it was tucked behind toilet door. If you stay there call ahead and tell them you would like a room in the rear. They will accomodate you.
I liked: The friendly helpful staff The comfortable bed How quiet the actual Inn was after eleven .
But how sad that there are no cameras to catch the speeding traffic throughout the night. Enforcing the 30 mph speed limit would have significantly improved my stay . Only this reason Prevents me from recommending it to friends.
Went with my friend as a stop off after doing a assault challenge nearby by. We spent allday in the pub downstairs and it was great. Food was good and a good pool table and darts with outside seating and comfy lounge seating. Was perfect and staff was chatty and friendly.
Needed maybe slightly better music later on in the evening. Was very very very mellow
The character of the venue
Extremely friendly staff and very helpful when we needed to order a taxi. Pub food was very good, breakfast was only continental but plenty of it. Clean sheets and comfortable bed.
Single room had the shower in the room which wasn't a huge problem but the shower cubicle had seen better days. Grouting was black around the base. The shower head was held up with tape wrapped round the pole. The vertical blind could only be raised by catching the cord around part of the radiator. The rod used to turn the struts was missing so could only be turned by trying to twist the metal protrusion. No headboard on bed. Finally the sash window could not stay open. Would crash back down if you tried. For the sake of spending a few pounds that room could have been made so more pleasant.
Landlord/staff were extremely welcoming. As there was a wedding function at the hotel on the night, they directed us to a couple of excellent local restaurants. Breakfast was delicious.
Friendly, helpful staff, good choice of food. Very comfortable bed.
Room quite small, as was shower.
good welcome. good choice in restaurant and good breakfast value for money
poor bathroom - needs updating - even just renewing silicone around bath would help.
Nice country location, friendly staff, very comfortable.
Friendly welcome and lovely food
Quite noisy on the main road and the rooms were very small
The staff and the breakfast. Unusually this inn does not offer a freshly cooked breakfast but my husband and I found this refreshingly different. We stayed for 5 nights so were quite happy with a very good breakfast of orange juice, a variety of cereals and a variety of toasts, croissants and crumpets!
It made a change to have a continental breakfast and it was good. The owner goes out of her way to help even offering to make some toast when we arrived after the bar had closed. Pub food is excellent
Shower needs cleaning
Lovely bed linen - clean and fresh Friendly staff Great continental breakfast Large airy rooms Remember to take a bottle of water to bed as none provided, but tea and coffee were. Brilliant value for money
Bathroom needed updating
Friendly staff and good food.
Room in need of update.
