The Inn is set in a beautiful location, right on the side of the loch. The current owner is transforming the Inn and as such, there was a degree of building work in progress, however, this did not affect the quality of our stay and the rooms were very clean, quiet and comfortable. The owner was very attentive to our needs and provided a great quality of service.
The 'kirb appeal' of the Inn isn't high but don't be put off by this as what lies behind the frontage is of very high quality.
Excellent food very friendly staff lovely room.
View of loch from room, lovely verandah. Helpful staff. Nice cooked breakfast.
Roadside position of property is off putting. Restaurant is more like a roadside cafe. Would have preferred to sit at a loch side view table for breakfast but this was not allowed despite fact that restaurant was empty. Uncomfortable bed. Two singles joined is not a double in my opinion!
From the accommodation the staff and the food, every aspect of the Inn on the Lock was great hopefully we will be back next year
Clean nice food lovely log fire location on loch Guinness what more can I say and clean !
The friendy staff who did not intrude but were very obliging, freshly cook meals that were hot not luke warm when they arrived, comfortable bed, clean room really lovely hotel
Busy road outside
The view of the Loch was beautiful.
The sound proofing on the ceiling was poor. Every sound of guests above us was heard.
Location was a great base for seeing Dumfries and Galloway. A nice change to be in a peaceful setting rather than in a city. Owners and staff were very nice. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Food was great too. Will definately return.
Pub/restaurant could have done with some games for children....playing cards or dominoes would've been enough. There was a pool table, but it was out of use for some reason.
The location was beautiful, the staff were brilliant, the room was gorgeous and very comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious! An absolute gem of a place
view clean good facilities
.he room was immaculate warm and cosy we were only sorry that we had left it so late in year and the days were so short.we will be back in the spring
the outside does notportray the lovely interior
large modern comfortable rooms with limited loch views as the main road lies between loch lomond and the hotel. Pub style menu well cooked and very tasty with extremely large portions. The large cod beat my husbands large appetite.
food was good a bit sparse on first morning breakfast
very noisy, restaurant closed at 8pm???
It was a relaxing and good hotel.
A very spacious modern en-suite room with it's own private patio on the edge of the loch. Very friendly owners and a good breakfast.
Nothing not to dislike - the owner is in the process of smartening up the front of the hotel.
Modern, clean room with patio doors leading onto decked area with seating which was a lovely surprise, stunning views of loch, staff all very friendly and helpful , breakfast good, would definitely return
From the roadway the Inn doesn't look like it has accommodation but our newly renovated room overlooking the lake with patio was great. Lovely big room, well decorated with glass doors leading out onto patio. Good size ensuite, brand new and very clean.
Lovely view of loch, nice to watch jetskis, nice apartment
Although accommodation dog friendly, nowhere else is.
Beautiful location on the loch, doesn't look very good from the outside, but don't be fooled, the rooms are of an excellent standard, first class. Excellent breakfast. We had one evening meal there and that was nice too.
Nothing not to like really. Possibly the fact that you have to go outside to get to the restaurant got breakfast, but it's only to the next door building, so not a huge problem.
Room was large and clean with nice big bed and door out to seating by the loch
Rooms at the front would be noisy as they are close to a busy road
watching water sports right beside the cafe.Able to buy a good meal on arrival. Good breakfast. Waitresses for all meals very charming & helpful. Comfortable room with ensuite, everything that was required. Our room was right by the busy car park but we were not disturbed during the night.
Running through the heavy rain to the breakfast room to find it closed until dead on 9am & no canopy/porch. Would have been nice to be let in to sit out of the rain even if breakfast wasn't served until 9am. Rather out of the way. Just right for one night while travelling but wouldn't have chosen for a longer stay.
Room was excellent,, breakfast was adequate
We felt we couldnt stay in bar after 8.30 as no staff there
Excellent location. Directions were perfect. Ground floor accommodation with superb views across the loch. Our first visit, but hopefully not our last.
Lovely clean, bright room and bathroom. Great restaurant and bar area with good food, great breakfast and lovely outside seating area overlooking the loch. Very friendly accommodating staff.
Not the owners fault but some very noisy people arrived about midnight our first night and thundered through the hallway with their bags and were easily heard in the room above us for some time after this. Considering it is on such a busy road, the road noise wasn't too bad, unfortunately just other guests.
