Disappointingly, the room did not face the river, and there was some noise from the road in the morning. Next time -- and I hope there will be one! -- we'd ask for a river view.
From start to finish, the staff was very helpful and friendly. When we phoned to say we'd had a flat tire en route and wouldn't be able to make it to our reserved dinner, they kindly offered to save us some, or make us sandwiches whenever we arrived. The room was lovely and delightfully expansive, with its own cozy seating alcove. Best of all was the stylish and scrumptious breakfast: go for the porridge made with cream and white chocolate, served with fresh raspberry coulis! And eating it within sight of the Tay River's rapids (where an Olympic hopeful was working out) was a special treat. The location was also good, close enough to other sites of note but far from hordes of tourists. Sorry we couldn't stay much longer!
