EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL
Great parking, great food selection, lovely staff.
Bed not too comfy.
The price and in particular the quality of the room
Only a minor point but no staff a the reception. ..I had to go searching on checking in and out.
Lovely big room, fabulous food, very clean. Excellent staff. Very central for the town. Very good value for money, we stayed on a half board basis with a special rate.
Room was noisy, at the front next to a busy road. Double glazing did not seem to cut out this noise efficiently. However, it was our choice to get a room at the front, because the last time we were there we were next to extractor fan for the kitchen.
We had a wonderful stay the room was gorgeous, the facilities were exceptional and we dined in one evening one of the nicest meals and wines both myself and husband had tasted for a long time. The staff we're warm and welcoming and housekeeping exceptional too.
Bathroom was very dim with lighting husband struggled when shaving and I couldn't see clearly to put contact lenses in.
The staff were very accommodating, helpful with organising me a taxi and the food was amazing!...and obviously the selection of whiskey!
Bed was a bit too hard for my liking, and walls a bit thin so sleep that evening wasn't the deepest, but room was clean, well stocked and lovely decor.
Staff and hotel were first class have now found a gem to return to.
Had a nice stay would recommend it staff brilliant the only down side was checking out .
Checkout not private enough
Friendly staff and good meals
Lighting was poor with the high ceilings and few down lights. Large wall in bathroom but had tiny towel rail with no towel storage. Steep stairs made handling large bags a nuisance.
had a problem with internet, the staff went out of the way to rectify the problem the food was really excellent, with a lot of local people i spoke with telling me how good it was.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
There was nothing we didn't like.
Power Shower was trickle shower: The power shower effect was a 1 second splutter then back to trickle, & the more you turned up pressure it became cold. To get hot water had to turn pressure down to a trickle. Also plughole blocked as water was not draining properly. Not acceptable. Hairs on toilet. Room dated. Double bed 2 singles joined & uncomfortable with raised hump down middle & therefore did not sleep at all well. Windows not easy to open/damaged. Staff friendly, public bar/eating area well presented & breakfast fairly good - maybe I was just unlucky & got a bad room - however I will not be taking the chance with a return visit. Paying £90, which was double a lot of hotels/B&Bs in the area, I expected top quality but was left very disappointed.
Loved everything about this hotel.
There was nothing I disliked about this hotel.
Excellent breakfast and dinner served by friendly staff.
Wifi only available in bar area and not in bedroom. No lift
The lack of privacy in the bedroom, needed a blind of some description. Blinds in dining room needed cleaning.
Friendly staff Comfortable room
Ages since we had been in ayr there for a wedding and couldn't fault the hotel at all hope to make a return visit
The hotel was in a convenient position for the town.
I found the bed far too hard and uncomfortable and did not like the black lampshades in the bedroom. Breakfast was very basic, no muesli, no fruit in sight, and fairly slow service as there was only 1 lady serving and attending to reception. There was no enquiry as to whether or not our stay had been OK when we left, not particularly friendly. I'm sure there are far better hotels nearby for a cheaper price. I will not be back to the Kylestrome.
Bedrooms need upgrading:
Staff very friendly
Food excellent. Good location
The staff were fantastic and very friendly. Nothing was to much bother. Always willing to help. Well done keep up the good work.
This is only a minor point but as a disabled traveler l found the gravel carpark difficult to walk on.
Fantastic location, lovely clean and spacious room with air con, excellent breakfast and warm and friendly staff.
All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was excellent. Rooms spacious and comfortable. Location fantastic, a few minutes walk from Ayr station.
Wifi quality was variable. We were moved into a room that had recently been decorated and would have benefited from a few days to air before new paint/carpet smell had reduced. Room faced onto car park, which could be fairly noisy at night and in the morning.
Near to station for train to Glasgow and breakfast.
The late availability of our room, taps in bathroom were loose and lights in bathroom went off several times when having a shower.
The room (4) was spacious and well decorated. The Staff were excellent and attentive at breakfast. Breakfast was good.
Felt that the room was overpriced, even making allowances for location and the Commonwealth Games. Curtains didn't draw fully, and one side needed attention - rings broken.
