Hotel Kylestrome Bar & Grill

Excellent value for money. The food in the restaurant is superb and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are well presented and very clean.

There was a function on and the guets brought their buffet food and sat at the stools in the bar to eat it. This made it quite difficult to get to the bar and generally wasn't very nice. The function made very noisy in the bedrooms above.

The style and reputation of this hotel in our on-line research attracted us to book in the first place. The New Year Party and every part of the service from beginning to end was first rate. It was so good we booked in for an extra night. The food is so good that even on New Years Day I got up in time for a full Scottish breakfast.

The hotel was spotless and very comfortable. The food was delicious. Staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and polite, no request was a bother for them.

Found the pressure in the shower was not very good

Convenient location close to town centre in a quiet street, plenty of spaces in carpark in the rear. Very efficient check-in and check-out and there is always someone on hand at the restaurant, so no need for a separate reception area! Free WiFi worked well. They managed to fit us into the restaurant at 2-hours notice on the first night although the place was busy. Restaurant was great: I really like the lamb on the first night. Although the 'crispy' duck on the second night was not crispy, it was a very nice meal and I'd be happy to go back any time.

The light in the bathroom and the extractor fan are controlled by a motion sensor. Unfortunately the fan runs for a long time after using the bathroom which is annoying at night time. Lights in the bathroom are in the middle and sink is in a dark corner - makes you wonder why the position of the lights was not chosen with more thought, considering that the bathrooms are recently renovated. One very minor thing: they had run out of porridge on the second morning.
