The Jersey Farm Country Hotel  

staff very friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean ,food very good and the breakfast was brilliant. It is a very quiet hotel with beautiful countryside. We originally booked for one night but decided to stay for two. Would have stayed longer if we had the time,but are planning upon returning soon, and have recommended it to our family and friends.

The staff were particularly pleasant and obliging. They seemed to remember the little things which make guests feel they are valued. The rooms are well equipped and clean, the food was excellent and the restaurant service was efficient and friendly. The whole experience was very pleasant and made us keen to return - perhaps for a short break next time. We would certainly recommend it to friends/colleagues.

Located just outside Barnard Castle so a car will be needed if eating out in the town however, the hotel food was better than expected. Local area allows easy walks in lovely countryside.

Hotel decor is a bit dated and there was no fridge in the rooms. The peace and quiet is occasionally disrupted by the disco in the function hall and the noise from this cannot be escaped from so it would be a wise move to check if any wedding/function is on during your stay.

It is a nice quite hotel in a country location & well placed for touring north yorkshire. The shetland ponies are delightful.

We have few comments - the time slot for breakfast could have slightly long for a Sunday morning. Some of the guests were slightly noisy for our taste but that is not the hotel's fault at all.

Comfortable room and spacious. Enjoyed our evening meal and would recommend the roast salmon.

The piped music in the bars and reception we found rather monotonous and intrusive. Were told this is selected by a computer and suposed to be relaxing but we'd rather it was switched off!!

The service was excellent and the staff were all really friendly. We travelled with a small baby and required a cot at the last minute. There were no problems and one was sent up immediately. Room service was excellent and we ordered food around 9.30pm which was no problem at all either. Breakfast was not dissapointing either, although the website mentions choices of breakfasts which didn't seem apparent when we went down to the breakfast room. The decor of the hotel was fun and interesting, although the dinning room lacked the sense of glamour as the reception. The rooms were of a good size and the bathroom was very nice. Unfortunately we thought our room and breakfast room was just too hot and uncomfortable, and probably wouldn't stay here again because of that reason.

friendly staff, good food, comfortable accomodation, owned by and staffed by family.

It was in a very peaceful area - very comfortable and the restaurant was excellent.
