Dinner and breakfast were good and both meals were enjoyable. There was a good choice of menu at dinner and portions were quite large. The breakfast offered was a full English with very quick service. There was ample free car parking in the grounds.
The overpriced room (£75) had no toilet, chair, glass or shelf above the basin. Space did not allow standing in front of the basin. Water did not drain and the tap was stiff. Main light was very dim and one of the bedside lights did not work.
Outdated grubby room, paper hanging off the ceiling. Unhygenic shower, black mould. Window that did not close properly. Bedding and bed not even fit to use for camping.
Nice pub with lovely hanging baskets outside. Good food.
They didn't know we were arriving and hadn't a double room available. We were charged £170 when the advertised weekend rate was £130.They said this was due to the commission you charged.Accommodation poor.Room decoration in bad order.Lights above beds not working. Shower cubicle in the corner which sprayed water onto the extension lead power supply next to it.
The breakfast was excellent.
Sharing of the toilet.
Country pub, great food & ale. Staff exceptional & just an ideal location for Ageas cricket, roll on the next one!!!
Quiet location, very frendly staff, outstanding breakfast, free wi fi.
Location Food was very good
The beds were past there sell by date. Shower had black mould around it Dated in general
Farmers breakfast and evening meals were very good.
17th Century Inn stuck in a time warp run by the Adams Family with Lurch in command. Cleanliness is next to Godliness but sadly absent at this location - one for the Hotel Inspector!
Just about the finest breakfast i have ever had .i can not fault the jolly farmer and look forward to my next visit when visiting family in the area.thanks for a most comfortable stay.
Nothing to say.
The first bed in our twin room was like a grave then I complained and the second bed was better but the room was very confused It was part bedroom/office/cleaners cupboard/kitchen/bathroom even smoking shelter (photos available if required) Then at breakfast the chef/cook waitress was very abrupt/rude To be honest glad to get away & go to work
Staff very helpful and friendly
No en-suite, I'd expect it for the price.
Food was Great. Staff friendly.
Food Lager over priced. Room not very clean old and wornout. Ivy growing in through window cob webs on ceiling.
Simple but comfortable accommodation, GREAT food and drinks, Lovely atmosphere... Wifi up and running throughout!!
Most of staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good "pub grub"
No ensuite wc (but in fairness that is on their description but I had missed it). Manager not so friendly as other staff. Price was major issue - room too expensive given the lack of ensuite and the dated furniture, and the availability of others in area.
Staff friendly and clean
Wasn't happy that there was no ensuite - shower and sink in the room but no toilet - found it to be quite expensive for a basic bed and breakfast
Staff and service was excellent and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent
food was excellent staff were friendly the pub was very quaint
bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy, the attitude of the landlord when dealing with our bill due to a booking discrepency was not very professional as we had to pay more which we were not very happy about
Full of character, great food & super staff!
We were greeted quickly and shown to our room. The food was lovely but overpriced.
£85 for what felt like a 1970's hotel is quite extautionate. I requested a double room and we had a twin, the bedroom was very grubby and old goods. The floor standing fan was plugged into a double extension lead trailing from under the bed. The shower and sink in the bedroom were dirty. The window looking onto the main road was draughty and noisy. The "coffee facilities" were a kettle, cups and sachets on top of the unit. The whole place as grubby and in need of decorating. While eating dinner, at 9.30pm the waitress cleared all the other tables in the dining room and prepared them for breakfast making us feel hurried to leave so she could clear our table. As we went to go up to bed the barman requested payment for the evening, as he would not be there in the morning!
Booked a twin room, but when arrived they only had a double bed available, They offered me the opportunity to sleep in a separate room which doubled as an office and a storeroom. Not ideal but best that could be done in the circumstances.
The pub The beer The food
The bedroom, described as en-suite!! Dirty shower cubicle in corner of room. Toilet down the corridor. Overall description of bedroom is dirty and shabby.
Food was fairly good and waitress welcoming
Room was awful and in dire need of refurbishment. Beds needed replacing. Had to boil kettle on the floor which was unacceptable. Shower cubicle in room was very dark and had rust, water was tepid. Bedside and sink lights not working. Room had cobwebs.
the pub was all round a lovely place, the food could only be described as excellent.
The accommodation is a real let down in need of refurbishment
Staff were friendly, breakfast was very enjoyable.
Room was shabby, bed very noisy, loo outside room and down a corridor, small shower cubicle in the bedroom along with a sink. I e-mailed in advance asking a couple of questions and did not receive a reply.
