Score from 90 reviews Fabulous
Nice staff, fabulous staircase and a real change from bog-standard chain hotels.
The situation of the Hotel, near to all shopping facilities. beautiful views of the welsh mountain lovely staff all so very helpful and freindly
Spacious room overlooking lovely grounds in a quiet location. Very good and pleasant restaurant/pub offering interesting and fairly priced food. Good to have bath as well as shower. Most helpful staff.
The mould around the shower seal and bath seal was disgusting and the the carpet needed hoovering. The ensuite was not a quality installation, but this would not have mattered had it been mould-free. Could hear quite a bit of noise from adjoining room and restaurant below, though earplugs got me off to sleep.
All as it said on the web
My wife and I stayed in the Jug and Bottle (formerly Hill House Hotel) 27 years ago as we were visiting family in the area. My opinion I am pleased to say that it is still a great value friendly hotel. Very good breakfast is included in the price.
The fabric of the hotel is looking slightly tired which on some ways sort of adds to the charm. There are parts that need a lick of paint and varnish. Other. Than that we were impressed
Friendliness of the staff in particular the manager Andy who went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. Lovely breakfast. Very homely atmosphere and rooms.
Fantastic staff, friendly and very helpful. Excellent food and great atmosphere in the bar area.
Very, very noisy floor boards in bedroom 1. Limited parking available due to locals using the free car park rather than the pay and display next door.
I had booked this accommodation for a young foreign friend and she was very pleased with everything
The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. We would highly recommend this hotel.
The jug is central in wirral yet awayfrom traffic .also staff and chef very obliging
A lovely guesthouse set in a very friendly neighbourhood. The breakfast was big enough to keep you going all day and at night the warm and welcomming pub offered a genuin brittish atmoshere. This was my second visit to the Jug and Bottle and I sincerely hope I will have the opportunity to come again.
Everything was good, great room, really helpful staff. Breakfast was fantastic hence the headline. Great selection of beers and fast wifi. Would recommend to anyone.
There was nothing to not like- the room was large, very clean and tidy, the breakfast choice was good, the food well cooked and the beer well kept and very tasty. The bill represented very good value.
SPONTANEOUS SERVICE WITH A SMILE
The friendly, helpful staff. The comfortable interesting decor of the pub.
Unfortunately we had the room over the bar so could hear the chatter on the Friday night until midnight. The Thursday night was quiet. There are other rooms in the hotel away from the bar.
Andy the manager Soft beds Spacious rooms brilliant breakfast Friendly breakfast staff
poor wifi dated rooms
The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for us
Nothing to dislike
In centre of Heswall very near bus station with direct bus through to Liverpool, But away from main road, above the park, so peaceful and lovely views over the Dee estuary. Excellent breakfast.
My husband and I were spending a night there as we had a wedding in Thornton Hough. We found the staff and attentiveness very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the room was very comfortable and big for the price. All in all a good stay at jug and bottle. We definitely recommend to family and friends and visit again.
I liked the welcome and the fact that they seemed to have thought of everything you might need. Beds and breakfast were excellent. Wifi was a bit intermittent but they were happy to look something up/print for you.
