Lovely peaceful setting. Good sized rooms. Clean. Comfy beds. Free toiletries and hairdryer in room. Good breakfast.

Only thing is no bar or restaurant open. But this will be solved very soon.

The establishment was undergoing refurbishment so only Tapas Bar open for evening meals but very good eating places only 5 minutes walk away. Very good Breakfast menu, the full English recommended . Room clean, bed & view good. Easy reach of Chester/Liverpool will stay again for sure.

What is not to like!

the staff were extremely friendly and helpfull when we arrived and were the same for our entire stay

On a small point i would have liked to see the sand bucket which was used for cigarette ends at the front / reception door removed and all the cigarette ends cleared away i did note that provision was provided on the car park side of the hotel and perhaps this could be better utilised

My room was a single room and very small

The location.

The shower was very poor. No hot water at first, then just a trickle to shower with. The worst aspect of staying there was the waiter at breakfast. We were attending a funeral and did not need to be treated in the manner we were. We did not come down late, 8.30am, we were served an espresso coffee in a large cup and when I asked for warm milk to top it up I was shouted at. Usually at breakfast you are given plenty of toast, we were given one piece. i asked for another, big mistake. I had it thrown at me, along with the butter. Then the man was too busy doing his crossword to offend further. I have stayed here before, never again.

I stayed in room 3, lovely sized room, great for getting ready for a party I was going to that night, lots of mirrors and light. Very comfortable bed, nice clean bathroom. Overall very pleased with the room, would definitely stay again. Very spacious.

Would be nice if breakfast carried on until later, I didn't make it out of bed in time.

Nice bar (and good local beer), good location in the town, parking, breakfast included and helpful staff (particularly the new manager)

1. The hotel did not have our booking but fortunately had vacant rooms (not sure whose fault that was); 2. Inconsistent breakfast (the Rotary Club meets at the hotel on a Tuesday morning); 3. Basic decoration in the rooms; and 4. Noisy - some rooms are over the bar area

Location and ambience of the place. Nice room with glimpses over the River Dee. Easy walk to centre of village with very good selection of restaurants.

Hotel restaurant not open on Monday when we stayed. Annoying hum of extractor in wall(room)3-think it was from kitchen but went on all night! Tv remote not found. Shower good, looked new, but leaked from side over floor.

Decent pub accommodation with spacious room, comfortable bed and reasonable breakfast. Attractive restaurant with decent tapas/Spanish food and decent beer and wine. Decorators there during visit so clearly some upgrading of decor but our room was very clean and tidy.

Slightly erratic heating and could do with blind on bathroom window to improve privacy and prevent drafts.

First impression of the reception was slightly dated until we got to our room. Our room was spacious and clean with a modern bathroom. Breakfast was great and freshly cooked.

Close to range of good places to eat in Heswall. Reasonably priced.

Breakfast good but service slow becausrather surly cook also the waiter. Seemed to begrudge providing toast.

No heating on - so our room was freezing when we went in..
