Good location and quiet at night
No wifi in the bedroom
Warm welcome...good evening meal and excellent breakfast.
Very comfortable clean rooms with a view of the Dee Estuary and Wales. Excellent evening meal both in the restaurant and bar.
The breakfast on two mornings were of very poor quality. It was amazing that such dinners and poor breakfasts came from the same kitchen.
Relaxed breakfast. Easy check in. Fantastic view over the Dee.
Staff were friendly and helpful, food was amazing and the room was just right
Couldn't really fault anything although the breakfast portions were a bit small
character hotel , great facilities . lovely staff. excellent breakfast , piping hot and well cooked.peaceful room.
Bed was too soft but that is our personal preference
We stayed here for night for a family anniversary close by, would like to go back and stay and explore surrounding area and would stay here again. We had breakfast which was hearty and excellent with choice and variety. Shame we couldn't try the ala carte menu but it looked exciting.
The beds were comfortable. Room a good size and clean. Breakfast was very good. An excellent 3* B&B, but only a low average 4*.
Booked a twin room as travelling with my mother. Taken to a double room that was already occupied at first. The free wifi did not work in the room only the bar.
The food in the restaurant was very good. The room I had which was a double was a good size with a comfortable bed. Would look to stay again when I next visit the area.
The only thing I would like to mention and it isn't really a complaint. The room I had was above the kitchen and I woke up about 11.30 pm because the swing door below room 5 makes a noise and then kept me awake every time it was opened and closed till the restaurant/kitchen closed.
Decor of bar- cosy fire & dining room, great guest ales, excellent food. Great view of Welsh Hills and Dee Estuary from our room (No 3).
Housekeeping forgot to service our room but helpful bar staff replenished stocks straight away.
We requested early check in, and the hotel were very happy to help. Room ready on time, we even had time for a quick lunch before leaving for the wedding. Thank you very much
Good bed and bedding.well provided with toiletries. Pleasant room. Good staff at restaurant. Lovely bar area.
Shower leaked, flooded floor so only 1 of us had a shower.shower had black mould. Over bed light not working.evening meal,1 was good the roast dinner very poor; reheated! Breakfast, greasy, poor quality , raw eggs,sausage.2 slices of toast; hard, not served well, butter not newly filled,no knife to use. Menus in room confusing; did not relate to meals on the menu that evening.
Staff were very good and seemed to be welcoming and knowledgable
Bathroom cold and shaving mirror too small to be useful
Staff wonderful. Helpful and friendly.
Room was cold . Main radiator was not working and the other one needed bleeding as was warm only at the bottom. There was a plug in radiator which eventually had some effect. This was a cold January week-end.
Lovely food, real ale, comfortable spacious bedroom.
Comfort and warmth of room (it was bitterly cold outside).
Evening meal. Don't chose the turkey roast! No slices of turkey! Mini logs of stuffing wrapped in minute quantity of Turkey and fatty strips of bacon.
Wonderful people and great food
alot of mould in the bathroom around the bath/shower dust around the lamps
The room was comfortable, excellent location and the breakfast was fantastic!!
Room a little on the small side & no shower gel
The staff were superb, helpful and friendly.
Perfect location for visiting the Wirral peninsular and Liverpool. Staff could not do enough for you. Very attentive. Room was comfortable with good views over to wales. Breakfast was excellent and evening meals superb.
staff where exceptionally very nice and helpful. Bed was so comfortable didn't want to get up! we had a sharing platter and the scotch egg was one of the nicest things i have ever eaten. It was nice to have hot chocolate in bedroom and biscuits.
noise from the dinning room was quite loud and below our room. would have liked a pot of coffee with breakfast rather than a single cup of coffee. (but still enjoyed our stay)
Breakfast excellent Good choice of beers and wines Good ambiance of the hotel and helpful staff
No wi fi in rooms No phones in rooms if haven't got your mobile Door to bedroom area can be locked from inside therefore cannot access your room !!
Location & friendly staff.
Double bed, would expect at least a queen size bed these days.
Would definitely return to this hotel and would definitely recommend to any one thinking of traveling to the area or looking for a nice local break.
