A very comfortable room & good straightforward pub food for our evening meal.
Breakfast nothing to write home about & at £7.50 / head poor value for money. Poor quality sausages & dry microwaved scrambled eggs!
Rooms clean food ok
No fire.beer cloudy.no atmosphere. Pricy.
The rooms ,so clean, and everything provided. The breakfast choice so you could have as little or as much as you liked. Also had a evening meal which was excellent ,good value for money.
Nothing to dislike
Lovely big room and bed nicely decorated just right for our short stay
Room was cold on arrival and ceiling was low over the shower.
Lovely food very friendly owner felt like home
Good location Friendly helpful staff and landlady. Bedroom was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed Food was hot and tasty, and served with a smile
Bathroom lighting was poor over mirror. Wifi was only available in the bar and restaurant
The room was of an excellent standard but the pub restaurant area could do with a bit of TLC. The food was good and reasonably priced, the location/views second to non. If the TLC was applied inside and out this place could be up there with best
The food was really nice and the price of room was really good.
Good food, very friendly. Will definitely go back
cosy, comfortable, excellent meal in the evening in the restaurant, lovely comfortable room.
Friendly owners Great Food (Dinner & Breakfast) Good selection of Beer Good location for onward journey Comfortable rooms and some Wi-Fi Overall - a good stay :-) Mike
Did not know that it was partially open in winter (hotel guests only Mon-Thursday) so lacked a little in the bar Breakfast a little late for business visits
A large room, comfortable and quiet. The inn is a few miles from anywhere, so the hearty and economical dinners and the excellent beer, are most welcome. Breakfast is also generous and tasty. Enjoy darkest Derbyshire with beautiful starlit skies if the weather is kind.
No shelf in the bathroom to put spongebags on.
Everything was perfect, from the location. The staff were marvelous and could not do enough for us. Food and drink was absolutely excellent an inexpensive. We will certain use the Jug and Glass again if in the area.
There was nothing to not like
Great location in the Peak District. Decent pub food in the bar downstairs and warm comfortable beds. The surrounding views are gorgeous and there's a wonderful stone henge just down the road.
The entrance that leads to the pub and the rooms REEKED of urinal cake from the men's bathroom. The smell was overwhelming when we walked into the foyer from the outside. Everything else was perfect (no other smelly areas!)
Very warm atmosphere good food and accommodation. Frank and Janette make you feel very welcome. Would definitely stay again.
comfortable, clean rooms.
bar closing before 11, so no drinks when returning from our evening. Sausages at breakfast were not nice at all.
Very warm welcome. Food was lovely, real home cooking Our room was very clean and cosy Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere Great base to visit the beautiful Peak District
The lovely smell of the cosy old pub. Clean, cosy room. Beautiful views and walks. Yummy big (cheap) breakfast The owners were LOVELY as were the other guests we met.
The fact we had to go home :(
Excellent home cooked food, and the 'all day' breakfast lasted all day long! Didn't need to eat again till evening meal. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent value for money. Quiet rooms overlooking fields. Would recommend and stay again.
A log fire would have been welcoming. Sheets from guest beds left in corridor looked messy.
Food was excellent, good guest beer. Friendly & helpful service from Frank, Jeanette & the girls. Remote location but lovely countryside. Would recommend.
Food was beautiful and good value for money. Lovely to return to a warm, comfortable welcoming, room. Then go to pub after a long day out on the hills and local attractions and enjoy a well earned drink and traditional meal.
Very freindly, down to earth and welcoming, we arrived late after the kitchen was closed but they still offered us a meal, they are willing to go out of their way for visitors
Very friendly reception. The room was very comfortable. Very good food and wine.
warm friendly hosts very warm bedroom and bathroom good home cooking easy parking scenic surroundings peacefull
