Friendly owners who go the extra to try to make you feel at home during your stay

Smell of a dog was evident in our room and this has been the 1 thing that had spoilt the visit.

We stayed for two nights, excellent food, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, even the weather was great!

Evenings were a bit quiet for us, would have appreciated some music to liven things up as we are used to going to places with entertainment, but on the whole we had a relaxing time

We liked staying in a small, warm, friendly pub. We were made very welcome by our charming hostess, ably supported by her partner. The breakfasts were traditional, sumptuous and very well cooked. We had views all round of lovely rolling countryside. If we're back in this area, we'll be back at the Jug & Glass!

Minor quibbles: Although the bedroom was spacious there were not enough surfaces: nowhere to put the suitcase; hard to find space for the laptop. Nowhere in bathroom for washbags. There WERE good-sized drawers and a wardrobe.

If we were going to Derbyshire again we would certainly be booking in at the Jug and Glass Inn, what other recommendation can you have and the food was excellent too.

Location is beautiful On a main road to Buxton which was useful but not too noisy Very friendly staff Room was nice and cool (visited in July)

Some mould in the bathroom Shower was poor, a bit like standing under a tap Breakfast not included with the room and seemed expensive If these things were changed it would be a perfect place to stay

The beer, food, shower and comfort of the bed

Leaky window, letting in a bit of a draught. Good thing it wasn't winter.

Location: easy to find in a great position overlooking the valley. Clean, modern rooms although a chair or two would have been nice.

Arrived 5 pm Friday only to find the bar didn't open until 6pm!! Outside tables would have been better positioned on the grass

The room was great, very clean, lovely furniture not just cheap ikea style wardrobe as in many b and b style hotels. Lovely view and location and very quite at night. Staff were friendly and did not disturb us. We did not try the food as we went out with friends for dinner, but it was available if we had wanted it.

No complaints, I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit this lovely part of the UK.

Arrived on a Tuesday to find a notice on the door saying "closed". Had to phone from the car park as no indication that there was a guest entrance on the other side of the building. Very hard bed, impossible to get comfortable. Tiny window made the room dark. Greasy cooked breakfast, cold toast.

Close to many walks Friendly staff and nice bar atmosphere Food acceptable Room was nice size

Exterior looks tired and untidy Interior is clean but could do with facelift (lick of paint) No fresh towels - we had damp towels that night and next morning. More attention to maintenance (i.e bathroom plug did not work) Move tables to grass area for a more peaceful seating (busy road)

The male manager was remote and very disinterested which was a complete contrast to the female manager.

I liked the property because it was old and had character. The proprietors were extremely accommodating.
