The staff food room and atmosphere were all great first class We also got the weather
There was nothing at all not to like
This small and friendly hotel is ideally situated in the Derbyshire Dales, there are plenty of walking trails within a 10 minute drive from the hotel, with plenty of small towns and villages around to see. The food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Will be stopping there again when the weather gets warmer.
The only problem I had was that the beds creaked a bit when you moved on them. A toilet brush was the only thing missing from the bathroom.
The food was perfect for a walking holiday and an extensive menu was available. The owners are welcome and helpful.
Just a good place to stay convenient location will stay again
nowt really would have liked another beer on tap
The room we had was very nice with a good view over the Derbyshire countryside. The evening meal we had was excellent and the cooked breakfast the following morning was great. The Staff were all very helpful.
Good Location, welcoming friendly staff, good food, clean and comfortable location
Friendly staff and a warm welcome. A popular place on a Saturday night for a meal. Great location in stunning peak district.
Only minor suggested improvement would be to attach a soft-closing hinge on the bedroom doors and the doors that separate the accommodation from the pub and entry - loud banging was not ideal for us with a small baby.
Great location , nice room, cracking nights sleep , great breakfast , clean and tidy throughout and very good hosts , chatty and friendly and helpfull .
The food and hospitality excellent, the room very comfortable. Ideally located in the Peak District.
Comfortable bed. Hot shower. Clean bathroom and room. Good cooked breakfast. Friendly staff. Superb views of surrounding countryside. Good access to the countryside.
Extractor fan in shower not working. The food was just 'ok': the vegetables with the steak and stilton pie were disappointing, and chips were anaemic and not crisp. The flavour of the vegetable curry was disappointing. At breakfast the toast, tea and coffee arrived well before the meal, so were cold by the time the food arrived, and it was not relaxing or enjoyable to inhale spray cleaner while nearby tables were being cleard and cleaned while we were eating. Situated on a surprisingly busy and fast road.
Lovely clean bedroom and bathroom and very comfortable. Lovely views and nice food in pub. Just a shame we had to leave very early and couldn't try the breakfast!
Food, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room and quiet room with no late night noise
The hotel is very clean with good internal decoration. Food was good pub food which is exactly what we needed after walking all day. Friendly and helpful staff.
Bed was too hard. We acknowledge this is a individuals preference.
It would cost £40 to get a taxi into Hartington aND being slightly away from hARTINGTON village
Wonderful, relaxed and cosy atmosphere, excellent accommodation and really scrummy food! The Steak in Ale pie was delicious. :) All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Having to come home!
Lovely night away, great food very cosy Inn... Loved it. Would highly recommend.
Best king-size bed I've ever slept on! The views of the Peak District. Breakfast.
Flies outside the window, and poor wifi signal - both are probably beyond the owners' control.
The owners, the service, the location and the quality of the room. The beer was also excellent and the food very enjoyable.
WiFi very, very weak. That is our only criticism.
The accommodation was nice and the location good.
Breakfast was very poor, milk was sour, toast barely done and eggs hard when they should have been soft.
friendliness of staff, great choice of breakfast. Quiet setting, good pub food
Such a friendly family and great food, we were spoilt for choice. We were made to feel very welcome and had a laugh, what an amazing stay.
Wonderful food cooked to perfection
Husband found our bed a little too hard for his liking
The host and hostess couldn't have been more accomodating. I made a mistake in the booking and got a twin. I asked to be moved and was obliged immediately. It was a short drive to many of the features of the peak district
We had a great stay. Good food and wonderful hosts.
