Friendly staff - big breakfast
Although it's a very busy public house, the rooms are separate from the main building (across the car park, similar set up to a motel) There was a late night disco taking place in the main building the 1st night we stayed, but apart from a quiet base, it was remarkably quiet.
The window was stuck, it did open OK, but when to be closed it really needed 2 people, someone inside to hold up the catch & another outside to put pressure on the wooden frame. The full english breakfast was not to my taste, you get a good full plate, but on both days it tasted like everything was cooked in the same pan ..... everything tasted of bacon!
Rooms were good, evening meal was value for money
Arranged for breakfast at 8 am as had deadlune to meet, checked 3 times this was ok. Following morning the place was all locked up, after 25 mins a cleaner appered and said the manager would be down soon. In the end had to go to the local cafe and get breakfast. A discount was given when I settled the bill, but very frustrating when people let you down
Staff and food were fine
Being woken by door slamming and being kept awake by noisy neighbours until 4.30am
Fair price nothing hidden was exactly as it said on the box the star rating for here is about right
Short on parking
This place is due a refurb in a couple of months, plenty needs sorting out to many to mention.
Convenient location for town centre and all public transport. Quiet at night without any disturbance. Good sized room with excellent shower/toilet facilities. Very comfortable room furniture, ideal for relaxing.Friendly manager Albert and all his crew gave first class service
No windows at ground level in room No.4. Better and brighter lighting would help.
The food served from the menu was awful
Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Easy parking
The whole place was in need of updating. Clean but shabby.
Staff and esp Manager could not do enough for you.Food was excellent esp full English breakfast. Very central for amenities. Would definitely stay there again. My mother and I had a great holiday, stayed 6 nights
Really friendly/helpful staff. Bed was fantastic
£70 per night. Mould in the bathroom Branch/Plant growing through the skylight. Smelt a bit damp
Good Location, very nice breakfast and very friendly.
Comfortable rooms, good wifi connection, nice English breakfast.
The full English breakfast was superb and the sevice was excellent. The rooms are en-suite with a very good shower. The Inn is situated on a road junction in the middle of Dorchester in easy reach of shops and restaurants. The Inn also has a very good, reasonable food menu which is served all day
The mattress was a little hard but we still slept okay.
Unfortunately it was not as advertised. Hairdryer and TV did not work. Breakfast not provided in time.WIFI was too slow.
Location and price .stayed on a monday but I think it could be noisy at weekends
The rooms were large with simple but pleasant furnishings. The shower had a good flow of hot water. There was the expected hospitality tray and a TV with a decent screen size. Food, both breakfast and the evening bar menu, was to a good standard and good value. Knowing that this was a pub, we expected some noise, but it was not as bad as we expected it to be, although I would not want to be here for more than a couple of nights.
The room myself and my wife were in - Number 4 - had a leaking valley where 2 roofs join, and consequently one wall had damp patches from a few days of heavy rain, which had caused a musty smell in spite of 2 air fresheners in the room. Car parking on site is very limited.
Helpfulness of staff met
Central to Dorchester. Staff were great and really helpful. Great value for money
Needed more ventilation in the room especially in middle of Summer. Just needs a little bit of TLC.
Great Location. Bus stop close by & good bus service, Bar & staff very good. Rooms were very clean. No complaints.
Staff very good, especially the manager, nothing too much trouble. Very convenient position.
It is not the tops, but good value for money. I would definitely stay again.
Location was great right in middle of town
Its a gasto pub basically, so a lot of regulars hanging around outside in smoking area, im glad I went mid week as disco on sat nights so wouldnt have got any sleep
Manager and staff could not have been more friendly and helpful, The food could not be faulted. Would recommend to anyone. Would definitely stay again.
Wood work is in a state of decay. Not as clean as one would like. Food only pub standard.
