Good,
Score from 193 reviews
“ Laura was wonderful and helpful with great ideas on how to do things in Glasgow, plus fun facts. We enjoy walking and even walked to the hotel from Queen St Station rolling our luggage when we returned, so that is great for eco-friendly - can hike to the hotel! Wonderful location near museum, university, pedestrian mall, waterfront. Really enjoyed staying there. ”

It was easy to get to and near where the function was. Clean and no hassle. It took ages to check in and we were told there was a chance our rooms might not have been ready. Turned out ok though.

The room was pleasant, fresh, clean and 'airy' The bed was very comfortable The cleaner did a lovely job of making room nice for 2nd day Nice 'atmosphere' in hotel Felt 'private' but if you needed to speak to someone, they were 'there' Friendly staff-one person 'remembered' me from previous visit over a year ago Enjoyed 'being there'!! Not a lot!! Main thing-didn't sleep too well on first night due to street noise/street lights shining through curtains/blinds

Facilities were very good for such a fair price. Location was excellent for city centre activities and the West End. Staff went out of their way to help you and were very welcoming upon arrival. Bed was comfortable and refreshments were always available and very well stocked. Room was large and spacious. Sadly, there were a few things that let the hotel down. First was the cleanliness- there were blood spots on the pillows and marks on the towels. The room's pipes in the bathroom had not been cleaned/unlbocked for some time and this lead to an unpleasent odor when you first stepped into the room. For light sleepers, the traffic outside could be a problem if sleeping on the ground floor. Shower head did not sit correctly which lead to water escaping the cubical or missing your body completely.

the hotel location was ok the decor also fresh and clean the hotel was absolutely freezing central heating not on so they gave us 2 electric heaters for room which proved very inadequate we had duvets wrapped around us while in the room before going out to pubs for a heat.they also had us in a basement room and you could smell sewage every time someone in the building flushed a toilet

The hotel is well lit, easy to find, in a busy street, yet my room was quiet. My hotel room felt cramped. The cooked breakfast was hot and quick, but possibly microwaved.

the room was quiet as it was a back room away from the road. the room was cold until we asked for more heating. The telephone was disconnected from the wall, the toilet flush was on eco and barely coped without several flushes.

It was relatively cheap and had a homely feel to it. Breakfast wasnt really great, the bathrooms were a bit small and cramped, but it was good value for money after all said and done.

Diane who was on duty on the desk when we checked in was extremely helpful despite having to cope with booking.com staff having booked us in under my e-mail name rather than my name. This caused much confusion but was eventually solved, only after Diane had booked us into a room that she had vacant. Luckily this was £10 cheaper than the room we had booked. Also the breakfast was more than adequate to keep us going on a full day shopping expedition. Well cooked and plenty of it. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in room 23 which is at ground level at the back of the building. There was no noise at all from outside. Though the floor squeaked when the guests above us moved around, waking me at 7.30am. The collection of fluff and dust on the carpet in the corner near the bedside cabinet where the vacuum cleaner obviously doesn't fit. Initially the room was very cold even with the radiator on full. Diane came to the rescue again giving us a plug in oil filled electric heater that soon warmed us up. The bulb had blown in the shaving mirror light and the shower tray didn't drain fast enough to cope with the volume of water coming out of the shower head. We finished our shower standing in a 3" deep puddle. Both bathroom faults were pointed out to the staff the next morning.

The lady on reception was most attentive and helpful. We do not know our way around Glasgow and were on a visit for a concert at the SECC. She assisted with info with regards restaurants, directions to the SECC etc. I would have no hesitatuion in recommending the hotel and should I require accommodation in the area again I would use the Kelvingrove.
