Fantastic hotel staff where very welcoming would recommend to anyone!
We both loves the bed it was amazinly bouncy and soft Had a brilliant nights sleep
The shower was tiny i Cant imagine angine fitting in that....
My wife and I stayed at the Hotel for three nights from the 11th to the 14th Oct 14. The room was clean and the bed and pillows most comfortable. We particularly liked the breakfast cooked to order and served on 'hot' plates. The staff were most pleasent.
I would have liked some background music or TV news at breakfast as the close proximity of the tables makes you feel like you are in a library and easily overheard. Other than that I would have no hesitation in staying at the Kelvingrove Hotel again.
Ckean and comfortable and excellent value for money. I would stay there again.
It was raining!
Only good thing was the breakfast.
poor value for money rooms were dusty bathroom/toilet you couldn't swing a cat in it
General manager. Moveable shower head(ie not fixed). Generous breakfast and hospitality tray.
The young man who was in charge of the hotel for our entire stay (he does a 3-day shift) was amazing. He runs his hotel like a friendly, old-fashioned boarding house. He even cooks the breakfast (which was very good). As a couple of older ladies who were tired out from all of our traveling, we were very grateful for his kindness and assistance with everything we needed, including luggage schlepping, recommendations and directions. The room was clean and modern and on the first floor! The location was great for buses both ways and if we had more energy, we could have walked almost anywhere from there. We would definitely stay there again anytime we are in Glasgow.
Reasonable price so cant complain-get what you pay for really Location was good for hydro
In morning we had lots of noise from kitchen as our room was located next door
Location to Hydro
Staff not overly helpful but functional.
Location ideal, receptionist friendly, room spacious
Too tired to complain but very tired room, we were apparently too late arriving (8pm?) to order breakfast and were advised that we could find somewhere local anyway (we did, but had to walk half a mile in the pouring rain!). The blinds didn't close properly so it became too light too early in the morning.... Also I'm only 6 ft tall but even with my head against the headboard my ankles and feet were hanging out the end of the bed - which was the narrowest double we've ever encountered and sunk in the middle. Like I said, too tired to complain for one night but couldn't have stayed another.
I stayed overnight in The Kelvingrove Hotel, following a concert at the Glasgow Hydro, which is an easy 10 minute walk away. I had a comfortable single room at a bargain price, and everything was perfect for my needs.
The location was the only positive thing about this hotel!!
We were placed next door to the kitchen and were woken at 7am with banging plates, when confronting the receptionist (George) he told us no rooms were Available to swap & he couldn't promise no noise the following morning!!! We also got told that was "the nature of the game" while shrugging his shoulders!! Also the cleaner walked in 5 times to our room! Stinking attitude & small rooms, will not be back
The hotel was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the Hydro if you are going to see a show. Price was good for room and breakfast Breakfast was excellent and couldn't be faulted. Would use this hotel again if it's only for one night
More like a boarding house. You are given the front door key as door is locked at 10.30. Very noisy with traffic to early hours of the morning. We had room 2 and every time we turned a tap on or flushed the toilet the noise was horrendous. It probably could be heard in nearby rooms so we tried to limit doing it
Neal was great!
Room floors dirty. Towels were not changed during stay. Too noisy, especially 3 hours of loud child noises one night.
good street appeal- signage, flower boxes etc good reception area; stairs & corridors well maintained staff pleasant, friendly & very helpful comfortable beds, slept really well
room décor rather 'scuffed' bathroom rather dated- minor repairs required ineffective shower head
Good location for our trip and hotel reasonable price.
Poor welcome at hotel. Noisy pipes very annoying.
The location of the hotel was ideal for reason visiting Glasgow.
Had to remake the bed before sleeping as it was not made up properly. Mains sockets coming away from the wall. Woken very early with banging and clattering of dishes, kitchen appliances being used, people talking and bells ringing. The hot breakfast was stodgy and greasy.
Recent redecoration and very clean room, breakfast was also good.
Room at front of hotel at street level so a bit noisy
Always someone at the front desk Smelled and looked fresh and clean Rooms were very comfortable TV's worked BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING
Staircase to lower level My stay was too short
Fantastic, Friendly staff. Spacious room. Hot breakfast cooked to order.
Not for you if you like to be in town centre.
I was there for 5 days and every morning the cleaning staff woke me up to clean my room. If you are coming to the UK and you have a time zone change you better get accustom quick to the new time because they will be there to clean bright and early
The staff were by far the most helpful I have ever encountered !
I wish the curtains closed and kept the light out a bit more
We liked the helpfulness of the receptionist and his advice on where to eat, drink, and best times to travel
the room phone didn't work in spite of the aforementioned receptionist's best efforts to sort it.
Nice rooms. All necessary facilities available. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Very good wifi connection.
Old building, so could hear people walking in neighbouring rooms. Also some noise from the street. So bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
