Very friendly staff led by the owner-chef. Excellent food with nice variations on typical fayre. In village so handy for other pubs - although the lack of dogs in the King's Head was a bonus for me. Picturesque views from bedroom window.
Parking is limited but once you find a place you can leave it there!
Picked the Kings Head for a one night stay for a cycling weekend. What a great location. The staff could nt have been more helpful. Excellent food, evening meal and breakfast. And a very good room, well decorated in keeping with the rest of the building. .highly recommended.
Could nt fault it at all...
Lovely room with panoramic views, friendly accomodating staff, magnificent breakfast, great dinner menu. Fantastic except for........
THE BED!! I slept badly on the first night and after swapping sides, my wife had a sleepless night on second. Dont want to sound churlish but suggest a new mattress or bed.
Nice size bedroom with lovely outlook. Reasonably priced good food. Friendly staff.
Couldn't find a hairdryer in the bedroom.
Staff, excellent main meals
Packed lunch Lack of chair(s) in room
We were fortunate to have visited the Kings Head a few weeks ago and they fitted us in for dinner, the food was superb. We decided to return and this time stay the night, we weren't disappointed the food was better than the last time created by 2 young chefs, the staff were warm and very welcoming and we had such a fantastic stay we will book again 5*.
Nothing to dislike
The whole weekend was very good the Kings head was very good indeed no problems at all food was excellent and so were the staff
There was nothing we didn't like
Location, welcome, food, hospitality, room, beer
Noisy extractor outside bedroom
Hospitality and cleanliness of room and the quality and presentation of the food was beautiful.
The menu being on blackboard as couldn't read it properly and felt rude looking over the people sitting eating beneath. However, this was only thing i could fault.
Location, clean and modern rooms, breakfast
Good location, modernisation works well within old building and superb breakfast. Friendly staff.
Lucky to park outside but could be a problem if you arrive late.
the people the food the location and the real ale
there was an external pump or fan that kept going all night.in james 1st room
The quaint area with very friendly locals excellent friendly staff very good food would definitely return
The room the food the people Cannot be faulted.
The Staff is hardworking, and despite a hugely busy time in the Scarecrow Festival, unfailingly cheerful and friendly. A shout-out on the food -- absolutely fantastic -- we tried the steak and ale pie (yum) and I had the squash ravioli with mushrooms -- thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Lots of good advice on the ales and was glad, several times, I only had to make it upstairs. The room was small, but it's a pub/inn, and I expected that. A bit warmish a night or two, and perhaps a fan would have helped, but really, I slept well, and loved looking out at the church tower clock. A little noise on Friday night, but all was quiet by 11, despite a "hen party" that sounded like great fun. Great fun to sit out on a perfect day on Saturday and watch the festival goers. The location is perfect -- away from the main road, and you're a ten minute walk to beautiful pastures, just make sure you like going UP. All in all, just delightful.
The stairs! But that's MY problem, not theirs.
Location, friendly and efficient staff, excellent food.
Good village location. Close to amenities and very picturesque. Clean, neat room.
Church Bells throughout the night unfortunately kept us awake. Little practical things such as no shelf in shower to put toiletries on and having to put kettle on the floor to make tea were little annoyances. A simple extra table to make tea would of been useful. There was the choice of two breakfasts only and you had to decide the night before. One night they actually knocked on the door to check our choice for the next day. Breakfast food was nice but a simple step of having nice bread rather than packet sliced would of been good for toast.
Very comfortable, quiet, lovely location and beautiful food. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Warm, friendly welcome in old pub which has been refurbished to current style - so don't expect horse brasses and old nick-nacks. Thoughtfully done, and room very comfortable.
Old property with twisting stairs and doors on the steps would make this a challenge for the less agile - but view it as part of the charm. Parking in Kettlewell is a bit of a lottery, remember to be courteous to neighbours. Again, part of the charm.
Loved the food quite excellent Room nicely decorated and bathroom high standard Staff very helpful and friendly
Television didn't work and whilst staff did all they could rectify could not mend Shower little temperamental
Comfortable clean room. Friendly staff
Could have done with net curtains as the room overlooked a bridge and people walking could see straight in. It meant we had to close the curtains/put the light on when showering etc.
We liked everything about the Kings Head
Fantastic location! Great Food - especially the weekend cooked breakfast - yummy Great staff and hospitality! Good beer and service
Uncomfortable bed - small collapse in the middle! Parking - not a real problem just wait and spaces are freed up!
Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting
Great location in centre of village. My room overlooked a stream and was in a quiet location. No noise from other guests who were mainly couples. Breakfast was good and lots of it. Decor was nice.
Parking not available but I knew that in advance. Had to be home by 11.30pm as only door via the pub so left the party I was at a bit earlier than my mates! Not a big deal.
