Superb restaurant. Excellent room. Friendly staff
Room was clean, very comfortable and staff very helpful. The food was great.
Overall cost of stay was expensive and whilst the facilities, food etc are good not sure it warrants the high cost.
Lovely clean crisp bed linen and nice clean soft towels, nice supplied toiletries, good room service, apart from not replacing t/bags.?? had to ask twice.
Dull lighting in room, table & lamps dusty. poor storage. Air extractor not working in bathroom, bulb out reported, not replaced, No safety slip mat or grab rails in shower. 1st morning, when breakfast was eventually served it was cold, & not as ordered., ltd choice, no fruit. Evening menu limited. Have stayed in better places for far less cost. Had to really check final bill, was over charged for wine, and deposit hadn't been deducted.
We booked the King John Inn as we were going to a wedding at the Larmer Tree Gardens. I was surprised at the fantastic quality of the hotel. Beautifully decorated with everything you could want in your room. The food was really good too & the staff couldn't be more helpful.
I would love to go back but it is a bit out of the way...
Located in a pretty little village in the heart of the Wiltshire/Dorset countryside. A good quality pub with friendly, helpful staff & luxury rooms. The breakfast is fantastic, especially the Eggs Benedict. Perfectly located for the Larmer Tree Festival. This was our 3rd stay in as many years and the quality hasn't once faltered.
no fan in room
Lovely rural location and good food
Loud extractor fans going on an off all night just below the window meaning very little sleep. Staff were not interested and said no-one had commented on it being a nuisance before. Also, the flush mechanism on the toilet was temperamental and you couldn't get access to cistern to fix it.
It was absolutely perfect exceeding all expectation.
Once we started to use the facilities etc in the room we felt much more comfortable and appreciative foot.
We were warmly welcomed and delightfully looked after by all the staff. We much enjoyed our stay
Poor Wi-Fi but we recognise that it is a challenging area for internet and mobile phone reception.
The guest room was gorgeous. All the staff were friendly and very efficient.
The prices for food and drink were rather expensive.
We only stayed one night so not really able to comment. However, we were delighted with King John, we were attending a party in Iwerne Minster and hopefully next year when there is another party we will stay for a bit longer. Hope they let us know in time when the party is and before you are booked up. My husband said it is the nicest place he has ever stayed.
Not being able to stay longer.
The area itself is stunning.
Room too hot, no air-conditioning and no fan. Very small window overlooking the seating area outside which was the only source of any air, which was minimal. Disappointed with our stay having reviewed the feedback from others prior to booking. Some staff very aloof, some extremely helpful. Wi-fi didn't work I
The King John Inn is pub, restaurant and B&B of great character. We found it very clean, the staff were friendly and the food was freshly prepared and very good. Our 'standard' room had a good quality TV and coffee maker etc and the bed and bedding was of very good quality.
We did not view any other rooms but we found that our room (3) was a little small in as much that we did not have a chair or table. There was a small wardrobe which was adequate but the adjoining cupboard containing the coffee maker and kettle etc was all a bit tight and difficult to use. The small en-suite was expensively equiped but we found the shower difficult to use comfortably. Overall we enjoyed our stay but thought that at £120 per night was a bit overpriced.
