The room was lovely; decor was of an older room which suited the hotel and the style of the room. The bed was comfortable and the tv was in an excellent position. It was definately value for money. Only two points; a bathroom with a light so showering in the dark was not an option. A new kettle in the room which was not full of limescale; generous amounts of coffee and tea were provided, it was a shame not to be able to use them.

The proximity to kings langley station, and the rural ambience. Othings like its ties to history, friendly staff and people.

food was very good, staff helpful, location good for where I wanted to be Bar was friendly and welcoming with open fire Staff also quick to sort out issue with invoice (my problem) Hotel very tired, needs complete refurbishment . My room set up for 3 singles when I wanted 1 double, Room needed new carpets, shower room adequate but must be difficult to keep clean. Could have been warned about intercity trains that thunder past at 03.40 Price point would have been about right, but would have been better value if breakfast included

The Pub, The old style bedroom, The Old style double bed. Restaurant not open the evening of our arrival. No breakfast available the next morning. No mention of those decisions on the internet. No mention of restaurants available but found some at Bishops Langley. A bit worried by the electrical connections in the bedroom.

We didn't like anything about this hotel as we never got to stay there. When we arrived we were told they had a problem with water (which quite frankly I didn't believe) so there wasn't a room for us & that they had put us in their sister pub round the corner. The sister pub was extremely basic & nothing like the hotel we had picked. We didn't get a double room which we'd asked for, but were given a twin. There was no one in the pub in the morning, so we had to go back to the Kings Lodge to find someone so we could pay!! Definitely wouldn't recommend or book again as you could easily end up not staying here!!!

Its location is excellent just North of Watford, it is charming as the Bar dates back to the 17th Century. Clean room, quiet depsite being next to main line railway. Food was limited menu and very good. (too big Menu's usually = poor food!) Slept well, good shower, free wi-fi and a fair price overall should assure it of more clients. Stairs a bit steep but it is an old building!

The room was beautiful! We had to check out at 10 but there was no one around to take our keys or speak to at that time. Bit disappointed in that. We were taken to our room with no explanation of check out or what to do at check out. I had to look on our booking form to find out check out time.

I picked this hotel for the location and its excellent prices! It is just a half hour walk, if you're up to it, or a 10 minute taxi ride to the WB Harry Potter Studio Tour. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes u to Watford Junction station with direct routes to Euston Station. There is nothing wrong with the hotel but it is quite far out from the town centre. Upside though, there is a pub in the hotel!

We only booked in at the Kings Lodge and where then escorted around the corner the another pub called I think The Dog and Partridge See Above the room was cold beds with uncomfortable (Twin) beds access through a back alley gate and up a narrow staircase. No provision for purchasing breakfast, so we had to wait until we got to the services on the motorway on our way home. No method of contacting anyone in the case of an emergency. The front of Kings Lodge has a board saying it opens at 12.00

We picked the Kings Lodge because of its location, close to the Harry Potter Studio which was literally round the corner & price. The hotel was great, very old, quirky, uneven floors, loads of character. We travelled from Cheshire in the evening so we didn't eat there but the restaurant looked good. Linen was crisp & clean, beds comfy, friendly staff. Plumbing was noisy (only when being used so didn't affect sleep) but what do you expect in a building so old, it just added to the character. It was probably the best place to stay to start our Harry Potter experience! And don't be put off by the train line next door, didn't disturb us a bit in the night.

the hotel was easy to find. very well represented in the photographs. we were welcomed although we had arrived early, we were able to book out luggage in and the manager was very pleasant and amenable. we aye in the restaurant and the did was wonderful tasted great, served hot and we felt that we were well served. the room was lovely , we stayed in the clarendon room clean tidy and well presented. really nice venue would recommend a stop there the ceiling was low and although the signs warned me I did hit my head once. there was a lovely cover on the staircase but we thought that gave it character. the only real thing we didn't like was when using the shower it was cold to begin with as I think you had to turn the bathroom light on to activate it also the shower tray flooded which was sorted that day.
