the bar food
tv is a bit basic and had no remote
The helpfulness and politeness of the staff
The continental breakfast was not as expected. Blueberry muffin, oat bar, raisins and orange juice. I was expecting a roll or croisant
Nothing much to say to be honest. Me and my partner where put into a room that was very basic and no headboard on bed. Draws were broken cups were on big mug one small cup I wanted to cry when I saw this room.
The only plus with this hotel was staff, politeness,
I dont know if the damp on the walls, the broken tiles and no shower curtain in the bathroom and the big damp stain on the ceiling were it was rotten following a leak were features but not for us. To sum it up in one word the room was discusting.
Poor customer service, no light in bathroom tv didnt work music blasting till 2am people shouting and bangingall night didnt get much sleep
Staff were friendly, the location of the pub is good, have good acts in place, always good!
Bed had no headboard, only 2 pillows, there was blood splattered up the wall! Had to go to reception to get breakfast in the morning,
The bed had seeb better days, springs poking in our backs, the pillows were hard, hot water tap not working on sink, no shower curtain making a shower impossible, walls so thin I heard my neighbour vommiting and talking all night and the communal door banged from my head hitting the pillow to the very early hour's.
Damp smell mattress was thin as paper
The smell of smoke and damp in room 33. The filthy carpet and disgusting bathroom. Needs bleach, more bleach, industrial bleach and scrubbing brushes!!! Vile. Do not stay here!! Sleep in the car if you need to sleep, but don't stay here!!!
It was a very cheap hotel , patio doors to the garden, the staff were very friendly and helpful
it was in need of a lick of paint and new carpet or flooring in the room as very stained and off putting, if them two thing were done then I would highly recommend the hotel
The price at just over 20 quid was great.
The room was dirty, also black silicon around the bath. Old biscuit crumbs left in the drawers. Stains on the walls where beer or coke has been splashed on the walls. Dirty hand marks on the inside of the bedroom door and many other places too. Seems to be used mainly by contractors and building type workers. Just about ok for 1 night if you don't want to spend much.
Lack of information regarding the entrance to the Hotel for elderly people. No food facilities on the bedroom level. No telephone and no signal for mobiles No fire instructions in the room. Breakfast in boxes not suitable for Diabetics which I am as all products were sweet.
The location was very close to where we visited.
everything else, furniture falling apart and had holes in them, missing handles, etc. carpets stained, cigarette burns and not been cleaned. curtains stained not clean hanging by only a few rings rest were broken. beds in a very poor state, mattress worn out springs poking through. bathroom door would not close. toilet leaking, mould. Not been cleaned. Room smelled.
The kettle worked The shower had decent pressure
The shower walls were mouldy. The shower head was mouldy (Legionella!). I was so worried about bacteria I held my breath the whole time I was in the shower. The furniture was damaged and falling apart. The bed had a major dent in the middle meaning I couldnt roll over. One of the shower doors was hanging off its mounting The shower doors wouldnt close so sprayed water all over the floor There was no Fire Emergency information anywhere in the room. The Fire Alarm panel indicated a fault in one of the Zones but had just been silenced. When I checked out after 1 day (was booked in and had paid for 2 nights), I was told that I had to email the Manager to get a refund for the second night. My repeated emails to the Hotel and one to the main enquiries have had no response at all. The desk staff didnt seem to be concerned one way or another about anything other than what they were doing at the time.
Too many steps up and down. Bedroom door needed forcing to open/close. Decoration poor standard.
Great Location if attending a gig at the Kingfisher pub next door.
It could do with modenising and bringing up to date decor wise and needs to good clean all rouond.
tv didnt work.got it replaced & discovered i only received 4 channels with poor reception. wifi reception was pathetic. very thin walls. just poor.
only the comfort of the bed
it was damp musty and dingy wallpaper falling off wall, carpet stains and had not been hovered for some time, glass in window dirty, and even though it was a non smoking room he net curtains had cigarette burn holes in them, toilet and bath stained, hot water tap took ages to fill up basin and ages to empty staff were not in reception when needed so when I looked I found someone laying on a bed in an adjacent room and he was not in a hurry to see me we asked for a downstairs room as my husband is disabled which we did get but door did not shut properly had to really pull hard to shut the handle was hanging off and hotel staff did not want to fix it instead they came up with the excuse that a drunk had been in the room the night before and he had done it, after insisting they did something they finally mended the handle. I would definitely never ever stay there again and would not recommend to anyone else.
charge £5 / night extra and change your matrices more often
Bar area outside and restauraunt good layout and good value.
Nothing at all good about this hotel
It was very dirty and unclean. No milk for you coffee for 3 days because they had run out. room was not tired by anyone the whole stay. The hotel was falling apart and need a good paint. The staff could not care less when you told them. Gym and pool are nothing to do with the hotel so should not be sold as the hotels. Its a dirty mess and should be closed down and taken off booking.com site
Room was filthy Outdated Run down Shouldn't be operating
Location was very good. Restaurant was good, bar was excellent. Was a club as well but never disturbed us.
Room was very basic, shower didn't work properly. Nobody came in to make beds/change towels. Tea/coffee facilities provided but no milk. Huge room with 4 poster bed but couldn't see the tv unless you were sitting in one of the chairs even then it was a struggle.
