Friendly Staff Clean Room
Central to Godalming.
The room was very small. Shower was stained. Window was lodged shut and couldn't open. If you want anything on toast for breakfast you will have to make the toast yourself. I was given a poached egg on a plate.
The locality. The friendliness of the owners/managers. The bar in the hotel. The amazing bedroom (No.3) with original panelling and lots of quirky features. Apparently it's haunted and was stayed in by Henry VIII and Peter the Great. Made a lovely change from the usual bog standard accommodation. Nice town, right in the middle of everything. Full English breakfast, made to order, was very good
Pleasant feel good atmosphere to the hotel.
While the cooked breakfast was good, the continental was poor. just a selection of breakfast cereals and a few paltry pots of yoghurt. No fruit, croissants or similar tasties that should be standard
First time away with other half and we felt so welcomed it was now to feel like we knew them straight away defiantly going again
The floor was wonky but me and other half found it funny but besides that everything was great
Breakfast ok Good shower
Wanted payment of £99 on arrival. Luxury suite don't think so!! Filthy bedroom carpet my wife wouldn't walk on it in bare feet. There is a lot better places in town for a lot less money
Breakfast was cooked well and with plenty of choice.
Carpet in our room was filthy although vacuumed badly needed cleaning. Room was supposed to have a sofa but contained only 1 chair
Very helpful staff enjoyable stay
Friendly staff, good location, clean towels and sheets.
The floor was not vacuumed.
The bedroom was an good size, clean and comfortable.
The reception area and bar could be more inviting. The pint of Doom Bar I had in the bar was far from the best I have had, making me drink elsewhere
Good size bedrooms.
Sign needs replacing or illuminating, difficult to see on such a dark night.
Location to where I was going; location being in the high street, reasonable price, friendlly staff.
Hoy in room, wifi poor, noisey in the morning emptying bins, very limited car parking.
Centre of historic town with lovely shops. Characterful and quirky old building with lots of personality. Friendly, helpful staff. Has free Wi-fi and (limited) parking
Bar/restaurant has big TV screen with football etc.
Room was amazing, food was delicious and staff were very friendly.
Comfortable room, great breakfast
Lots of street noise on the first night
good breakfast, friendly staff, quiet room at the back
lack of maintenance, glazing bars were dirty
Fitted exactly what I wanted.
Breakfast, beds and bathroom
Lack of parking
Not much parking
To hot, no way to open window, noisy kids above us, fair breakfast, expensive for what it is
The hotel could do with an update as its looking a little tatty. But still worth a visit, I will be going back!!
The location was perfect! Beautiful comfortable bed which was very important. Great breakfast! Just a lovely stay, would definitely come back, but only at the price we paid £69
Could do with a bit of freshening up! We were disappointed there was no fridge in the room. I would also suggest that maybe offering scrambled egg, bacon as well as full english, may save on wasting food, as not everyone wants so much to eat, especially if they been out drinking the night before. (Although i always enjoy my Full English at a weekend).
Friendly reception on check in Fair quality food at good prices in the pub - nice atmosphere Great furniture in the room Lovely bathroom of good size for a single room - appreciated en suite for a single Very comfortable bed with crisp clean bedding Good facilities in room - plenty of sockets, good TV, great sized desk and wardrobe
Stains on the ceiling - large patches across the room Lots of marks on carpet made it look like it hadn't been hoovered, these proved to be stains. At front of building so lots of noise from high street when people left the pub and when traffic came through in the morning.
Creaking floors were annoying at night time
The refurbishment has been poorly done It felt old fashioned when you walked through the door and very cramped. The rooms have been poorly refurbished and the bathrooms done on the cheap. There was a smell emanating from the bathroom. The lack of a night porter meant that the i had to go down and speak to several congregating lads outside of the hotel making a noise twice. I had a superior room which in all fairness had nice furniture but a cheap refurb with corners cut. The pillows had no substance to them. I paid £75 for the room which was at discount where I wouldn't have paid more than £60 normally. I wish I had booked premier inn as I could guarantee a standard. The hotel does not live up to the photos on the website.
