Creaking floors were annoying at night time
We stayed at The Kings Arms Godalming to visit family in the village. Very convenient and everything we expected.
pub hotel nice breakfast good room with bath
no parking space
parking spaces are limited
Met met my needs for a comfortable, relaxed and friendly place to stay.
Landlord and lady excellent, good sense of humour and very chatty
A hole in the ceiling with a bucket under neath, catching the drips all night. Couldn't close the sash windows, they were stuck fast wide open at the top, with only secondary glazing between us and the noise in the street. Both twin mattresses had springs coming through, very uncomfortable
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, room was clean, cosy and a great size. Breakfast was perfect. Amazing stay.
Lack of parking on site as found on a high street but this was made very clear on website and car park over the road was free 7pm-8am.
Nice location spacious, clean and comfortable room
Good value for money .I have stayed before and expect to stay again when in Godalming
Decor. It is grubby. Food. The continental breakfast is very bland. Toast or packaged cereal, unhealthy and boring yoghurts and a small choice of fruit. The room. Tiny and cluttered with enormous furniture that was of practical use at all. The bathroom was very cold with no heating and grubby.
The bedroom was so nice clean and very roomy. Would definitely recommend the hotel
Being ignored in the bar young mans first time behind bar was to interested in his phone than serving us had to ask if he was serving in the end. But the lady working with when she came back was brill made us feel welcome and was very helpful which made up for the blip
Staff is really lovely! I've arrived at 8pm and ask if i could have à vegan breakfast in the morning. They went to the shop to get me some soy milk!
Noise from the street
Location central, very good position. All Staff very helpful particularly Liz who checked with the taxi company to ensure we had a booking for the next day and explained the hotel routine. Room was ready as soon as we got there which was an hour before chck in time. Breakfast excellent. Room large. We had a lovely weekend.
Decor a bit tierd but made up for by the excellent service and friendliness of the staff.
The location was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The noise from the adjoining room was unacceptable. We could hear every word and deed, which unfortunately for us went on until 2.30am.
All was great
Not applicable everything was lovely nothing bad to say
Rooms overbooked which acc. To the staff happens frequently.
Central location convenient for the area and going out in the town in the evening
Hotel has worn out look about it. Returned to hotel at 10.45pm after evening out anticipating to get drink at bar after being told that was open to 11pm to find hotel /bar in darkness
The breakfast was OK
The hotel was decidedly tired and needed a revamp. Our bedroom was not good. It was not possible to open the window in our bedroom as the sash had broken and the top section of the window was fixed. It was a hot night. Our duvet cover had a hole in it.
The one-way road system means you are not going to park in the carpark but behind the hotel in a public carpark which is free from 7pm to 8am - this means no breakfast. And the Indian restaurant down the road was overpriced.
Central location, friendly and welcoming staff.
Staff were friendly
I normally like to give small hotels good reviews, but if that was a 'Superior' double room I wouldn't want to use a standard one, pretty disappointing, the hotel was a bit shabby with fag ends scattered around the tables out side at the rear. Also pretty expensive for the room we got, because it was Goodwood weekend the prices were hiked.
My wife and I arrived after a 27 hour flight from NZ to Heathrow. We were feeling rather exhausted. Staff were welcoming & obliging. Our room & bed were comfortable. Good bathroom facilities. A beautiful English breakfast was served with attentive hosts and good selection of choices for breakfast.
Disturbed by early morning delivery of supplies to hotel being rolled along cobbled alleyway outside our room.
Friendly staff tried to make our stay more comfortable. Good wifi.
Going through a line of smokers then pub to access my room. Nowhere to sit except smelly pub or room. Dirty cutlery, and throw on bed had yellow patches all over it. No room service. Thin walls. Dirty carpets throughout.
A huge change from your faceless chain hotels, real atmosphere combined with great facilities in the rooms. Good working TV, pretty strong wifi and great bathroom.
Being a town centre you get noisy people outside until late, and then certainly on a Friday morning one of the loudest street sweepers I have ever heard at 6.15. But none of this was the hotels fault!
