Good,
Score from 183 reviews
“ We stayed here for 1 night en route to Portsmouth. We had paid a bit extra for an upgraded room and stayed in Room 1. It was absolutely beautiful! worth every penny.. The decor was baroque style with a huge bathroom with freestanding bath plus built in shower. Exceptional value for money and would definitely visit again. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the breakfast was good value too and v tasty. ”

We were in room 1, a beautiful spacious room with large ensuite including roll top bath. Would of liked choice of cold drink in room, bottled water.

We had a top of the range room that was very spacious and nicely furnished. The bar area was quite down market with many all day drinkers, and popular food. The breakfast was very average, and there was no afternoon tea service available

The hotel smelt quite bad, which didn't go. It was not very clean & the thought of eating in it for breakfast was not an option. The hotel needed a good clean through and to be painted. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Nice central location for visiting N.T. properties in Surrey, and an interesting town to browse in. Very helpful and friendly staff. Slightly disappointed that this was more like a pub than a hotel, i.e. no proper dining room and that our twin-bedded room was very small with no chairs.

Friendly, hard-working staff Accommodation, except for one thing (see what I didn't like). Inclusive breakfast Historic Building Able to use WiFi We have stayed before, but on this occasion we had a very noisy toilet cistern (Room 9). It has a motorised cistern, and took about five minutes after each flush to stop functioning. This did not happen in the room we had last time (Room 11).

Plenty of restaurants in the area, and nice quiet location. Staff were friendly and helpful, with one exception...) the manager/landlord was unwelcoming, and made me feel like i was an inconvenience to him. They cleared the breakfast 30 minutes early but moaned when I asked for breakfast. No thank you, no hello or goodbye, just sneers and a look of contempt. Otherwise the place was fine.

location We did not like the fact that we booked rooms with showers and baths and didn't get them. A couple of people in our party can not use showers due to being claustrophobic. Therefore we were not satisfied with the accommodation.

The hotel was conveniently located for me. Upon arrival I had to walk through into the pub as nobody was at reception. The hotel was extremely noisy, around the time the pub closed. Twice at 1 and 1.30am there was an extremely loud drilling like noise. There was no way to contact reception other than walk downstairs. The pub is clearly the priority here.
