Very friendly welcoming hotel with some parking if you were lucky enough to get it. We managed two out of three nights but there was plenty of pay-parking nearby. Food was good and room fully appointed.

Excellent rooms, good prices and ideal location. English Breakfast was poor, sausage had been reheated so much it didnt look like sausage any more. Bread looked like cardboard, bacon looked undercooked. The fried egg was cooked to perfection though. Some local farm sausages and bacon might be enough to make this more appealing.

Room#3 with its' pannelling and fireplace did it for me! The staff were exceedingly cheerful, nothing too much trouble. The food, (I had sizzling steak) certainly hit the spot, at a very decent price too. My other half had a cheese platter, and the hotel were extremely over generous with the selection, ie real chunks, not cut by laser. Breakfast first class. The bar, a very nice 1920's style.. I would absolutely go back! The clanking of the bins in the early morning, but hey ho, not the hotel's fault.

The location was important to us as we were visiting family who live in Godalming. There isn't really enough parking for guests and the limited parking could not be reserved. However we parked in a street nearly opposite the hotel which was convenient enough.

Do not stay at this hotel!!!!!!!! This is the worst experience of my life. a £75 room cost £350!!!! I paid on credit card and was then told this was to hold room, employee asked for £75 cash. I have now paid twice as taken off credit card. also clamped in hotel car park which coast £200 to release. manager would not take responsibility - advised "not his problem" called complaints department 5 times and emailed and heard nothing at all!!! Do not stay here!! Regarding my stay at the above hotel on Friday 28th January. I booked online using my credit card (book.com), when arriving at the hotel my sister and I were greeted with a very sloppy service. Reception was shut whilst the 3 staff members were drinking in the bar at a 5.30 pm. a young lady checked us in and asked for a cash payment up front. I was confused at this as I had already paid by credit card. I asked about this and also showed booking receipt, I was advised that the credit card was just to hold the room. I have just checked my credit card statement and found £75 charge from the Chapman Group, unbelievably I have paid twice. My sister and I were very tired after a 5 hour drive, the girl gave m

Have already registered a complaint about the very disappointing experience of this hotel. In no way did the hotel - atmosphere, facility, helofulness of the staff, nor the room - veru grotty and rundown, reflect my expectation as formed from the web page. I was travelling with my elderly mother and we chose not to stay, which in itself meant a considerable financial loss and further frustration to secure altenative accomodation. I would never ever recommend this hotel.

Very nice old furniture in the bar and rooms. V. friendly staff. Would have preferred an earlier breakfast, but I suppose most people are used to getting up late on Sundays. I hope to drop by again some time.

No Parking, no internet access, breakfast served at 8.30!!! staff wouldnt make any concession as I had to leave earlier, a bowl of cereal & some milk surely couldnt have been any trouble but he seemed uninterested in trying to help. I made other arrangements & stayed elsewhere as I needed internet access & I needed breaklfast! I felt the hotel was over-sold & the facilities were misrepresented. The staff were disfunctional & indifferent to wether I was satisfied or not. Absolute rubbish.

The best I can say is the room itself was at least clean Didn't like the smell of cooked cabbage and stale chips while walking up the stairs. Reception was never manned. The furniture was nasty, chipped and dirty. There are nowhere near enough car parking spaces for the number of rooms. If you park in one of the spaces not allocated to the Hotel (even though they are not used at weekends), you will get clamped with a £200 release fee! The rooms facing the high street are incredibly noisy. Breakfast lacked potato and mushrooms. 1 rasher of bacon, 1 sausage, 1/2 a tomato and spoonfull of beans hardly constitutes a full english breakfast!

Location. Godalming is quite a nice little town. Parking restrictions imposed by the Council. Also my room was changed. I did not get the Deluxe Double I had been told, as the TV in that room was not working. The room I was offered was of a lesser quality than I had booked from website.
