This historic Gothic mansion sits in tranquil parkland on the Cotswold Edge, next to the Severn Valley and close to Bristol. It offers fine dining, a recreation club, and spacious, traditional rooms.

The traditional feel Great food Local ales Friendly staff
Well appointed room Quiet Excellent food - dinner and breakfast
Lighting bit dim in bedroom
Space of the apartment and comfortable to everybody enter to it.
The Kings Arms is a very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are immaculate and the staff are very friendly. As a solo traveller I was very much put at my ease and made to feel welcome.
Nice accommodation. Kitchen adequate for short stay. Stylish interior. On the same grounds as the pub, able to park outside chalet. Great home cooked food at a very good price. Good for family with older children as difficult to get family room elsewhere.
The advert said all baths had claw feet. Disappointed that this wasn't the case in the 2 bed chalet. Not a great deal of lighting in the living room. A bit dark if you are trying to read. A floor lamp would solve this problem.
Really nice and comfortable. Will definitely be back.
Just some minor issues - only 5 wine glasses when accomodation was for 6. Also it would have been nice to have some tea towels, had not thought to take any.
Great little B&B with amazing service, food and attention to detail. We stayed in the twin room and the staff couldn't have been more helpful with great attention to detail. The breakfast was insanely good, good size portions of well cooked quality produce plus they are happy to adjust the menu to suit your cravings!
Only negative was that the room was a little dark and stuffy due to the charcoal paint and tiny windows
Even though my arrival was very late, due to motorway congressional and fog I was made immediately welcome and shown to my room; which very clean and fresh and enabled a good nights sleep. Breakfast was excellent and check out fast and hassle free ... Overall highly recommended
... Foggy, congested motorways late at night!!!
Lovely room, fabulous food, comfy bed.
The lighting was dreadful. Dark walls and very few lights Could not see to read.
Very comfortable excellent fod
Lighting very poor in bedroom for reading
Friendliness , hospitality and excellent food
- good value - lovely atmosphere - nothing was too much trouble - amazing breakfast - best of all, such welcoming staff
......nothing to dislike
Ambiance, pizza oven and room comfort
Not enough hot water in the morning !
Friendly staffs Room decoration is nice Restaurant is nicely decorated and food was well served
some dishes/teapots were not found clean in the kitchen The room upstairs has a broken light but in general very nice stay
A nice place with friendly staff. Cosy rooms, great facilities.
We were very shocked to find the place so dirty. Lots of dust and cob webs everywhere. Fridge was dirty and the skirting boards in the kitchen coffee stained. We called the lady to show and she was nice and apologetic and promised that tomorrow someone was coming to clean. However not much changed the next day. There were quite a few things out of order as well. Like light bulbs in the kitchen, heater in the bathroom, little mirror light in the bathroom, only one little light functioning in the double bedroom and the fridge was not properly cooling until my husband did something to fix it. I would go back but wouldn't stay if I found the place dirty as it was.
Free WiFi, good room size and bathroom, great character throughout the building, very popular with locals, food very good and choice of beers.
No milk in bedroom and only a cafetere for one even when staying as a couple.
Restaurant and food was excellent Bed very comfy Staff flexible friendly accommodative thoughtful
This was an exceptional property, with beautiful interiors and exteriors. The staff could not do enough to help. Accommodation grand. We were down for a wedding only but I hope something brings us back this way again. Thank you to all at The Kings Arms.
The only things I could say here would be tiny little quibbles, terrible little nit picks that any sensible traveller would read and then berate me for saying such silly things! So there is nothing that I have a problem with here.
I love country pubs with character, and this ticks most of the boxes. Great staff, excellent menu, comfortable well-appointed room, all at a very reasonable price. Good location for Bath and Bristol.
Great place to stay for a group or family. Good layout plenty of room
Generally clean but needed a bit of a deep clean in areas and more light
Not much. It was Sunday afternoon when we arrived and only pizza on offer although it was done in the outside pizza oven and was excellent. Desserts also available but nothing else.
It appeared there was only one other couple staying besides us but we were both put in the annexe across the carpark - the website stated ours was last room? Not sure why it said that and why we were not in main hotel. As we were only there 1 night didn't feel it worth asking. Beds uncomfortable as sagged in middle - mattresses need turning. Sitting area and bedroom painted in charcoal grey so very dark and lighting poor - no proper reading lights as flexes not long enough to reach over to sofa - some bulbs missing too. Had to do some moving of lights to enable us to read in bed which was easier. Didn't want to use shower as black mildew down corner and along bottom tiles around bath. Both plugs had broken chains. At £95 per night, these things should be OK. Chef couldn't boil an egg and needed 2 tries.
Decor, Location, Food and atmosphere were all excellent.
The room was incredibly hot (on not a hot day!)
The staff welcome The beauty of the building and the décor particularly the horse wallpaper over the wall behind the head of the bed and the four poster bed, just exquisite. The welcome with tea/coffee/Marshfield biscuits/bottled water was just a nice touch. To wake up and look outside at the countryside, just perfect. The food was very nice and the wine even better. Will revisit in the winter as we would love to see the pub in the winter months and experience a log fire.
Nothing to dislike the only thing is we arrived in the dark and couldn't fine the way in however, we are both over 50 years and managed to go in the side entrance, then the staff entrance, in the morning we discovered the correct entrance which will now be fine for our return.
We stayed in one of the self catering cottages and liked the versatility this offered. We could eat in, eat at the Kings Arms or elsewhere. The beds were excellent, firm but very comfortable.
The cottage was very dark. There was only one window in the downstairs accommodation, all the walls were painted dark brown and there was only one uplighter. It was extremely dark. The shower was very cramped and a screen would have been much better than the plastic sheet which stuck to you every time you tried to have a shower. There was also more than your average share of cobwebs.
food unavailable after 20.15 cottage very dirty, dust everywhere bathroom dirty kitchen very dirty staff not really interested old abandoned car outside on carpark noisy at night from pub customers and road noise
