Score from 74 reviews Wonderful
Great place to stay for a group or family. Good layout plenty of room
Generally clean but needed a bit of a deep clean in areas and more light
Decor, Location, Food and atmosphere were all excellent.
The room was incredibly hot (on not a hot day!)
The staff welcome The beauty of the building and the décor particularly the horse wallpaper over the wall behind the head of the bed and the four poster bed, just exquisite. The welcome with tea/coffee/Marshfield biscuits/bottled water was just a nice touch. To wake up and look outside at the countryside, just perfect. The food was very nice and the wine even better. Will revisit in the winter as we would love to see the pub in the winter months and experience a log fire.
Nothing to dislike the only thing is we arrived in the dark and couldn't fine the way in however, we are both over 50 years and managed to go in the side entrance, then the staff entrance, in the morning we discovered the correct entrance which will now be fine for our return.
We stayed in one of the self catering cottages and liked the versatility this offered. We could eat in, eat at the Kings Arms or elsewhere. The beds were excellent, firm but very comfortable.
The cottage was very dark. There was only one window in the downstairs accommodation, all the walls were painted dark brown and there was only one uplighter. It was extremely dark. The shower was very cramped and a screen would have been much better than the plastic sheet which stuck to you every time you tried to have a shower. There was also more than your average share of cobwebs.
Staff very pleasant, food excellent and good value. Loved Spoof! Nice relaxed atmosphere.
Rooms a bit dark - could be difficult to read in bed! Tissues would be nice. Cafetiere a problem if you want more than 1 cup of coffee. Great difficulty getting TV to work.
Didn't want to get out of bed it was so comfortable
Room was a little dark. Couldn't pull the blind up.
Staff are very attentive and friendly, room very clean and comfortable, quiet location even though on main road, good off-road parking. Emphasis on locally produced food and beers.
Bathroom a little small, lighting a bit dim in bedroom.
T.V. WOULD NOT WORK. NO WARDROBE. BATHROOM TINY.
lovely room and v comfortable bed.Breakfast was fab !!!
The kitchen stopped serving at 9pm. The tv remote for the freeview channels didn't work well
Staff were great and could not be more helpful. Pub nice and good food /ambiance. Good 2 bed cottage in lovely location near Tetbury
Good decor but very dark - asked for an extra lamp in the end!
excellent staff, excellent breakfast, very nice pub with good selection of beers.
nothing to not like
Very Nice cottages. Great beds. Good kitchen with all facilities. Enough space. The secret beergarden was loveley. The inn was lovely, very nicely decorated. The food was very good! The staff very friendly. Helpfull.
Not a great view, we had cars parked in front of the window/ doors.
Dark decor more lights as could not read very well.
Very clean spacious apartment that accommodated our family of 6 very comfortably. On a nice summer evening you could sit with a beer or meal in their very lovely garden. Very quiet at night, we slept great.
Dead and living woodlice all over the place that had not been cleaned away.
The room was very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast, which seemed to be all local produce. An excellent night in the bar with good food, beer and friendly locals who made you feel at home. All in all a very good place to break your journey when you are travelling on to Devon and Cornwall
Nothing comes to mind
staff could not do enough for us. Food was very good. Wonderful garden to sit if the weather is ok.
Loved my stay! I'll be back.
We stayed in Bobtail cottage (2 bedroom). It has wonderful atmosphere and is very comfortable. Food in hotel is good, large beer garden for fine weather dining too.
Food was really excellent and room was also very good.
Nothing else in the area (Tetbury is probably the closest town) and the staff (with one exception) were not very friendly or helpful. Locals were very stuck-up and quite unfriendly - If we had had more choices to spend our leisure time in the village, this would not have been so important.
The welcome was warm, the beer, wine and food good. Breakfast was excellent.
But the bedroom (named "Bottle" after a hunting dog) was unacceptable. It was the smallest I've ever stayed in, it had a view of a slate roof a few inches away and sleep was sparse owing to the heat. (No air-con) The lady who supplied my bill confirmed that this was a common complaint. Then why use it?
Too far away from cotswolds which was the primary purpose for our stay. That was our fault for not researching distances properly otherwise could not fault accomodation
Breakfast Small sitting area adjoining bedroom
Poky bathroom Had to ask for hangers & hair dryer staff at first unhelpful but insistence helped secure them in the end. Old shower which I couldn't work, as it was out of reach .
Comfy bed and excellent scrambled egg with hot smoked salmon
There was no milk to put in the tea that could be made in the bedroom. The TV would not work and the young girl although very helpful could not get it working and when we asked it to be working on our return at11.30pm but no one had tended to it.
the quality of our room the haarington suite in the stable block and the meals were good as were the staff we enjoyed our stay a lot, the itemised bill at the end was accurate and tidy I liked the way service charges were applied it saves wondering what to add for good services.
nothing at all
