The building its self is lovely old and traditional, but unfortunately
the establishment is trying to be an upmarket gastro hotel and it is way
under par! I stayed in a king room the decoration, was tired and old,
old chairs, covered by throws, nothing special, no attention to detail.
Old beds that roll to one side. Zed bed (an extra charge) £15 old,
sagged and squeaked. Cooked breakfast nice, cold buffet dull and no
imagination. I paid £390 for 3 night stayed, should have been more like
£240 maximum. The hotel is valuing itself on the demanding tourist trade
and not what it is offering.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly, attentive and quick to
respond to your request. Location, perfect on the square, private
parking handy as public parking is busy.
