Very helpful reception staff. Help with luggage offered and accepted (very rare these days in my experience.) Good central location with free on-site parking (very necessary in Richmond) Clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel seemed somewhat understaffed especially in evenings. We thought that the dinner menu was rather short and overpriced for what it is. Difficult to control heat in bedrooms/open windows.

We liked the staff at the hotel. They were very friendly and professional. Unfortunately we found the hotel very noisy because there was a function with loud disco and people in the room very close to our bedroom (20). Didn't sleep well all night. My husband's cooked breakfast was not good - two others were ok.

Very cosy room, and old style wooden furnishings were awesome. Lounge with a fireplace is a perfect place to have a drink and a chat.

Our room was filthy. The bathroom had no toilet paper, still had damp towels in it and open toiletry bottles lying around. The bedroom obviously had not been cleaned. The floor had not been vacuumed, and there was a thick layer of dust on several items of furniture. There was also a substantial deposit of sand lying behind a curtain.

All the Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and polite, and the housekeepers kept the Hotel very clean, in all areas. Also, the food was very enjoyable !! The Hotel was in a superb position, just across the road to the Harbour, Restuarants and shops. It was a real pleasurable experience staying there, and would certainly recommend anyone to try this excellent Hotel !! Many thanks Mike .... look forward to returning soon !!!

The location is good ,the staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has charecter. The condition of the room was not good enough, the plumbing dated , you could hear between the rooms. There was noise all night from the street. There is no lift.It needs refubishing you would get a better deal at a bed and breakfast, overpriced for what it is offering.
