Score from 60 reviews Very good
Close to train station. Clean spacious room. Clean shared bathroom. Plenty of towels. Nice complimentary breakfast. Reasonably priced pub with good ales on offer to return to in the evening. Friendly welcome.
Very large room. Breakfast when WE chose. Good bathroom size and water pressure and temp. Welcoming staff. Proximity to central Oxford. Vege burger and Fish and chips are both good dinners in the pub downstairs. Quiet at night. Excellent blackout curtains. Close to station, car hire and laundrette.
Nothing to add.
Breakfast outside your door so you can collect when you want and eat in your room
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious & well furnished. Great beers on tap! Really cool pub, I'd like to spend some time here :-)
No parking. Had to wake up earlier than I wanted and leave before the traffic wardens came on duty at 8am.
Very friendly welcome, lovely room with two beds and two very comfortable chairs. Quiet - no noise from pub below, some from street late evening. Shared bathroom - but a lovely one, and was no problem. Liked the warm dressing gowns provided, also the breakfast tray - good excuse for breakfast in bed!
Small points only - would have preferred jam to go with croissant, not just marmalade. Only two teabags on tea tray in room - and we like our tea! Lock on toilet door a little difficult to operate.
Super Friendly Staff Spacious Accommodation Comfortable beds -the best sleep I've had in ages Good choice of Food Nearness to city centre
No allocated car parking.
Comfy bed. Hot water. Clean spacious bathroom. Bathrobes. Meagre unadventurous continental breakfast. For a place which specifically doesnt take children, why serve childrens breakfast cereals. Needed to ask staff for tea-bags.
Friendly, close to centre of city, quiet, decent breakfast.
It is nice and close to the station
Beds were very poor - just worn-out springs - like olden times the shared bathroom between four rooms was a bit tough for the money not really good value
Polite staff, good location, spacious room, not too bad breakfast.
Four rooms for a single bathroom is too much. In theory I don't mind sharing but had to wait for too long
Room with heating system.
The Staff were very good especially the young woman from Melbourne who was a big help explaining the parking options, great choice of real ales
There is no parking at the Pub, it is in the middle of residential area and and it is hit and miss to find a place, and when you do it is restricted to 2 hrs at a time. The pub will sell you a permit for £10 a day....or use the local park and ride...not ideal
Very close to the train station, walking distance to the town centre, this is a local pub with a few rooms. Sharing the bathroom was not a major issue.
Continental breakfast a bit ... subdued
The front room we had was a very generous size and the bathroom was very clean, food fantastic.
The beds frames were a bit flimsy (cheap) and the mattresses were on the softer / sinky side. Still slept ok but better beds would improve the place.
The sleeping facility is over the pub, but quiet. The morning breakfast is continental and limited, but the food available in the pub is good-to- excellent for lunch. Situated very close to train station with a two block walk. Eight block walk to city center and University. Overall good value considering the lodging price point at surrounding hotels. The bath robes were plush and nice for the walk to the toilet and bath.
The hallway rugs upstairs were soiled. There was no bath soap provided in the guest room or bath.
Very kind host and food in the bar is really nice, close to train station and travel bus. Clean and tidy room with TV inside. Shared big shower room, very comfortable.
Friendly staffs, comfortable beds, clean bathroom and close to the train station
The location is quite good. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from the train station to the inn. The room we stayed was quite big. The bathroom and toilet are pretty clean.
The first floor of the inn is a pub which causes a lot of noise. There is no lift so those who carry heavy luggages might need to think twice before booking. The shower head of the bathroom was broken so it's very difficult to take a shower. The doors of the bathroom and toilet are not easy to lock probably because it's an old house.
The manager was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. She made us feel very welcome. The twin bedded room was a double bed and a twin bed and was very spacious. I was staying with my young adult daughter for a few nights before she moved into her University room so a twin was a necessity and this was one of the few places in Oxford I could find one. I live abroad and have found it very difficult to find twin bedded rooms in England, generally, and Oxford in particular. Location was excellent for walking into Oxford centre and 2 minutes walk from the railway station. The shared bathroom and separate toilet are only shared between 2 rooms, so this worked out much better than expected. The bathroom was very clean. I thought that the price was high given the shared bathroom but I am out of touch with British accommodation prices as I live abroad. My sister thought the price was reasonable. It was a lot more reasonable than a hotel within walking distance to the centre. The pub serves very good British style food and has a fine selection of real ales.It was not noisy at night.
This is more of an improvement than a criticism: But to make the shared bathroom work even better I think the toilet should have its own basin and the rooms also. It's awkward not having anywhere in the room just to wash your hands and fill up the tea kettle.
friendly staff, really nice pub with a large selection of beers. Stayed only one night but had a fantastic room, clean and well decorated
Service comes every day, Provide towels and bath robe Small and right above a nice pub - as you would expect from an inn
Shared bathroom with 4 other rooms
The pub is great, the room is simple and comfortable.
Accessibility is awkward but was ok for me.
The hotel is in the opposite of town but more silent in the night. They provide hot pot to make the hot tea. When we arrived the hotel early than 11:00 am, the staff can help us to put our luggage. When we back hotel, the luggage is put in our room. Thanks for their help.
The bar is very noise in the Friday night until mid-night.
The location of this hotel is very good, very close to train station, only 3 mins walk. The room is super big and comfortable, we have sofa, big chifforobe and bathrobes and towels. What is more, the beds are very comfortabl. That night we had so good sleep that we didnot want to get up. The staffs are also really nice and helpful, a very good experience in Oxford.
location so close to rail station and close to university, clean rooms, spotlessly clean bathroom, bath tub!, plenty of hot water, great food, great beer, what more could you want?
well, I liked everything, really. But I walk with a cane and stairs can be challenging especially with luggage, but the staff was immediately helpful about the luggage. But travelers should know that there are some steps....
