The Knowe Guest House  

Really comfortable clean and very friendly staff

The Knowe is a comfortable guest house, easily accessed just behind the main road of the town. Car parking is available on site. The rooms are large and comfortable, and there is a guest lounge downstairs. Breakfast was adequate if not delicious. The owners are friendly and helpful. We have stayed there twice this year and would go back.

Chris and Ray the owners are very knowledgeable about the area, and are great hosts. The choice and standard of breakfast is great, and we enjoyed the more communal/friendly feel to the dining room. The bed was very comfortable and we had a separate room with sofa and TV and terrific views. The location was very quiet, yet just a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and some wonderful eateries ranging from coffee shops to restaurants. Would defo go back again and strongly recommend to anyone.

We found there was no SKY as advertised, though I think this had been a very recent scenario, and the reception was very spasmodic, sometimes with no signal at all. Also WiFi, was only really possible downstairs near the hub. Also the shower in our bathroom had very low pressure.

The friendliness and personal regard of the owner/operators, the physical comfort of the room and the breakfast meals.

Convenient location for reaching the centre of Callendar, while being away from the busy main road.The choice and standard of food at breakfast was excellent. Ample off-road parking. Our room (The Gardens Room) was spacious and had fantastic panoramic views across the town and the valley.

The room was excellent, the owner’s extremely friendly, the breakfast was brilliant - the haggis was first-rate. Everything was really good, would definitely stay again and recommend this Guest House.

The Guest house was fine, breakfast was good. The hostess was warn and priendly, Nice size room albeit a bit dark, but nice bathroom

Although the house itself albeit nice and clean was somewhat dated in its appearance and in guest areas and would have benefitted from a more professional finish in decor, and more up to date, The bed was well slept in and was well in need of replacement. All in all it was nice but I would not rush back, bit tired and in need of a bit of TLC

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. the food was excellent and there was a freindly atmosphere.

It's a beautiful house ideally located high above the little town of Callender. Our room had a luxurious well-furnished ante-room and looked over the town to local hills across the valley. It is only a ten minute walk into the friendly town and we very much enjoyed our stay.We left an item of clothing behind and it arrived at our home address, posted on efficiently by the lady of the house

Friendly atmosphere, made to feel at home. Great views from our room called "Gardens" great hosts, he is a real card. All facilities within walking distance. We stayed 5 days and had a good time.

The Knowe was not too easy to find due to road closures in Callander. car parking was easy on the guest house site. The room was of a good size and comfortable, with a well equipped en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was very adequate, if not luxurious, and the hosts were pleasant and helpful. We would certainly go back there again.

Great Location for a stop over or to stay and tour from. The owners are bikers like me and my mate and were only too happy to help out when my mate had a problem with his bike.If you stay you must have the haggis with your breakfast, its to die for!!!. Great atmosphere and would stay again.

It is in a great location and we had a beautiful view over the town and countryside from our window. The owners were friendly and were helpful at suggesting various walks we could go. Our room was clean and bright and the bed comfortable.

The owners are very friendly and accommodating, Knowe sits above the town and our room had a great view of the Trossachs and town. Large, spacious room with large windows and comfy beds, tea & coffee & biscuits provided. Plenty of TV channels via Skybox/freeview. Alcoholic treats in the evening and breakfast around a big table means you get to know people! Perfect stopover town for exploring the Trossachs.

I did find the room a little dusty (I suffer from allergies) and it meant I woke up with a sore throat, but it's not a complaint - just one I have!!
