The squirrels were in the gardens every morning. The staff were great, public rooms were fantastic and food was excellent
Wifi very mixed but that is not their fault at all it will get better as better broadband is rolled out everywhere only mattered to me as I was working
Excellent food Superb location Nice building Tranquil setting Professional staff Rooms clean and well-presented
Horrible bar, out of keeping with the building No real ales on draft Staff could have engaged better Quality didn't quite match the price Wi-fi only available in lounge, not in rooms as advertised
This hotel looks like the perfect place in a perfect location. Where to start : - the staff is very welcoming, - our room was very quiet, very nicely furnished and nothing looked out of place, - the breakfast was delicious, - the view of the garden was lovely (we even saw a red squirel), - the diner we had there was very good and inexpensive. We just wished we could have stayed a bit longer.
Great Food Cosy log fires Nice Lounges Comfy beds Good Parking
Wi-Fi a bit hit and miss
Beautiful old historic Inn in a very beautiful and quiet location. Staff were very friendly. Dinner was the best of our two week trip, including the beer and the deserts. Don't go here if you need Wi-Fi - it must be at the end of the cable.
Old fashioned service catered to individual needs. Quiet understated luxury. Personal attention and genuine friendliness and interest in your quality of stay. Small touches like lighting the fire as soon as they saw someone was in the lounge. Obvious pride in their establishment
Restaurant didn't seem to be functioning so ate in bar. Midgies because of nearby river but surrounding gardens and seating were excellent until 5pm when midgies descended . Still enjoyed the gardens though up until then
Staff, service, food and accommodation were all very good and the location was good for us as we were there to do a bit of walking. We went on 10th - 13th October. The weather was good so ideal for our walks. The bar was busy at night with people taking advantage of the good food that is on offer. A very nice old hotel with log fires and a real home from home atmosphere.
The fact that you really need to depend on a car. Given the size of the island it is more practical to have one if you come here.
Great location. very welcoming. Coal fires in bar and residents lounge. Food excellent
Beautiful location. Friendly and helpful owners/staff. Excellent food. Beautiful pld coaching Inn.
Can"t think of anything
Good food, good service, quiet situation. My dog welcomed.
Friendly, informal staff, relaxing, welcoming environment, superb food, log fires, cosy atmosphere.
There was nothing we did not like. I'm sure we will be back for more!
Nice & peaceful very relaxing, food was great (especially the sticky toffee pudding)
Comfortable, clean room and bed. Excellent bar meals, lounge with log fire and conservatory overlooking lawn. Great location at quiet and picturesque end of the island. Well kept gardens. Olde worlde feel but with modern facilities.
Nothing at all. We'll be back!
Friendliness of all staff, quality and choice of food. Superb lounge.
Having to leave after only 2 days

The food was fab If I go back Arron I would make a point to go back and stay again
Nice location though a little off the beaten track. Welcome very friendly and comprehensive information about hotel and meal arrangements. Bedroom very good, large comfortable bed and bath en-suite. Very quiet and great view from the bedroom window onto the hotel grounds. Food excellent and menu quite varied, wonderful breakfast.
Stunning (inland) location...very private and very safe! We saw the most amazing night sky including the Milky Way and several satellites! Night mad complete with a shooting star! Fantastic!
Very warm welcome, friendly and well organised. On the main road but still nice and quiet. Guests for evening meal served in the bar were a mix of residents and others which meant a lively atmosphere. Good food freshly cooked. Lots of space to relax in comfort.
Although dog friendly hotel, dog barking in next door Room a bit disconcerting. Not enough of a problem though to be worth mentioning at the time.
Peaceful location, good service and great food.
Small TV in room with limited channels.
Food, nice lounge area, pretty gardens.
Costly compared to mainland prices for B.B. rate.
helpful staff, pretty location, good food
