The food was fab If I go back Arron I would make a point to go back and stay again
Stunning (inland) location...very private and very safe! We saw the most amazing night sky including the Milky Way and several satellites! Night mad complete with a shooting star! Fantastic!
Peaceful location, good service and great food.
Small TV in room with limited channels.
Food, nice lounge area, pretty gardens.
Costly compared to mainland prices for B.B. rate.
helpful staff, pretty location, good food
Food was excellent, location fine,
Shower extreemly small.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. A stunning garden, but many midges in the afternoon. Good food.
A noisy fan outside our window from 07.30 til 21.00. (But we weren´t often in the room at that time.)
We stayed one night at the Lagg. It was v comfortable. Our room overlooked a lovely garden. We had dinner in the dining room. The food was v good, imaginative choices. The staff were welcoming.
Very friendly and helpful staff Local beer Walk to cairn and beach close to hotel Freshly cooked breakfast Excellent food
Single rooms are facing the back next to the kitchen extract - not too relaxing.
Food was nice (dinner and breakfast) Quiet location Good walk down to the beach
The location of the hotel is simply superb in a secluded corner on the south end of Arran. The number of passing vehicles in an hour can be counted on one's fingers. Yet a short walk to views over the coast line offer some of the most spectacular maritime scenery available at such a short distance from the bustling central belt. The location and hospitality were excellent and antiquated charm of the accommodation a delight.
Many of the rooms windows simply overlook rather bland roof space and more could be made of the leafy setting of the hotel to enhance the visual aspects from the rooms.
The fact that it was away from the more populated areas of Arran. Loved the ambience, breakfast and of course the dinners - in fact everything - thank you from Oz.
The quality of service and accomadation
The location is idyllic the staff obliging the food delicious - perfect from start to finish
Such lovely surroundings, the hotel is somewhere just to relax with very good friendly staff, we had a very wet day our last day and they went to the trouble of lighting a fire in the lounge, just a homely feeling
The roads getting there, but that's not the hotels fault
A beautiful country hotel with excellent management, nestled in an outstanding location, serving beautiful home cooked breakfasts. The owner went out of his way to make sure my stay was as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Arriving late in the evening for check in, the first thing i was asked was if i had eaten before i was shown to my room, this was very much appreciated. The evening meal in the bar was delicious.
Very kind and helpful staff Beautiful gardens Good food Traditional style
I would have preferred a king size bed.
Very friendly owners and staff; excellent varied evening menu options; comfortable bedroom and guest lounge areas.
Mary was great, good chat. The food was fab as was breakfast. Excellent facilities. Stunning gardens. Loved the place, will be back.
Closing the bar early and the wee midges
Nice clean and cozy hotel with good food atmosphere and value for money
The staff are very committed to ensuring you have an enjoyable stay. Very high standards of cleanliness, great food and a beautiful, peaceful setting. Log fires in the lounge created a cosy atmosphere - perfect for sampling their range of Arran whiskies. We stayed in single rooms (expecting broom cupboards) and were pleasantly surprised at how nice they were even if the furniture was a little dated.
The weather - log fires in August!
Set in a lovely wooded area with a stunning beach 10 minutes walk away. The food was delicious, we ate in the bar as well as having breakfast. Very tranquil.
Take mosquito spray as the garden is lovely but you get eaten alive!
Peace and quiet, well stocked bar with good selection of malt whiskies, food, friendly staff
Can't think of anything that I didn't like
