The setting of the hotel is really good for short walks and relaxing.

Some of the staff where unhelpful and rude.

Lack of ashtrays & prices a little steep. Temperature of water in bathroom was varying & overall shower experience was poor compared to other hotels.

Loved our room - Heron. Peaceful, comfortable hotel, outstanding food, friendly service. Also had a reflexology session which was wonderful. Slept well. Shortbread biscuits delightful. Lovely dogs and walks.

It's a bit far from home. Cant think of anything else.

Rather isolated

Our room was spacious with nice decor and lovely furniture. Very pleasant views and good bathroom. good sunday lunch, which was served well. The dining room was quiet due to lack of guests.

The bed was too soft and dipped in the middle.

Spa angling location food staff. I love mid-Wales.

Hotel entrance lets it down ie: first impressions. Steep steps, limited parking nearby, sticking doors. Better doorway, sentry planters etc. why not a flagpole or two?

The spa, sauna and hot tub are amazing! There's acres of beautiful gardens and woodland around the hotel and it's just so quiet, ideal for relaxation. We also enjoyed the food and the staff are very helpful.

My bed wasn't too comfy, but then I am quite picky when it comes to sleeping.

The stairs

The Hotel offers the ultimate in luxury and Fine Dining, in superb surroundings, together with friendly, well trained staff, and Management making it the number one choice for us, when ever get the opportunity to get away for a few relaxing days. We dont even consider any other venue, having tried so many in the past, which cant compete with this,which ticks all the boxes for us.

Please mend the rip in the billiard table.

It was clean and comfortable and they didn't make a big fuss when they couldn't find our booking. the room was very nice though the floorboards creaked a lot.

Every aspect of presentation, attention to detail led by friendly Management and staff made this a memorable weekend. The quality of decor in the Lodge suites was superb and the furniture well appointed. Room service visit to ensure we were happy with our suite was unexpected and welcome. Food and restaurant service was excellent in the main. Afternoon champagne and cream tea was beautifully served and presented. The overall ambience, grounds and service delivery beyond expectation.

Very minor observations. Dining was very good but the menu a little short on choices. Fresh vegetables very sparce. A mixed side order would have been welcome. Sunday morning breakfast service was very slow, toast burned and very few staff on duty. Minor rostering issue I think. Given the distance to the spa from the hotel, bathrobes in suites would be nice to make transition between spa and suite a little easier. Car-parking a definite issue!

The Spa and the location

We had a superior room, don,t know what was superior about it. Should have been half the price, as just a standard room, worth £50 a night.

We took three cooked breakfasts,the first was exellent but the next two were appalling,for example half a tomatoe & an uneatable rasher on a large cold plate,these two dissasters were out of character and a deterrant for future visits.

Poor menu, both nights the same menu with very little choice, we had to send back both our main courses because they were served up tepid and when they returned weren't much better, the cheese was freezing cold and obviosly thought they weren't going to serve any that night. There was no drinks menu of any description except the wine list.

Fantastic location and easy to find, wonderful building with lots of character. The staff were very helpful and professional.

The water pressure in the en-suite was low - so the shower wasn't the most refreshing

It was in a beautiful area. Nice rooms. Staff were friendly. Brilliant to relax

The golf/putting course was not very good.

We where made to feel so welcome and special nothing was to much trouble and the staff where so attentive and profesional a credit to the Hotel. The owner made it his personal job to welcome all the guests personaly and make them feel that anything they could want or need would be made available at request and more over would be no trouble.

Alles, ich fühlte mich von Anfang bis Ende ausgesprochen wohl. Das Zimmer war sehr großräumig, sehr gut zu erreichen, es gab ausreichend Parkplatz (gebührenfrei), prima Frühstück mit frischen Croissants, Obst und freundlichem, hochprofessionellem Service. Die Atmosphäre war überaus gediegen ohne dabei zugeknöpft zu wirken, ein Haus so ganz nach meinem Geschmack bei dem das Wohl des Gastes offenbar ganz groß geschrieben wird. Angenehm auch die gute Beschilderung, man kann es auch ohne Satnav gut finden. Das Bad verfügte über Dusche und Badewanne. Das Haus ist ruhig gelegen was auch verwöhnte Landbewohner wie mich ruhig schlafen ließ. Der Salon mit seinen vielen gemütlichen Sofas und offenem Kamin war für mich ein besonderes Highlight. Von außen sieht das Haus lange nicht so gut aus, wie es sich von innen anfühlt. Als besonderes Plus empfand ich den wirklich angenehmen Service, kein Wunsch wurde abgelehnt, für alles bestens gesorgt. So wünsche ich mir das :)

Im Spa gibt es zwar eine Sauna aber ich fand keine kalte Dusche oder gar ein Tauchbecken. Das ist für unsere Gepflogenheiten gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ich war aber ehrlich gesagt froh, dass es überhaupt ein Spa gab und der außen gelegene Hottub ist klasse. Der Pool ist auch groß genug um ein paar Bahnen zu schwimmen. Ganz ganz kleines Minus vielleicht, dass abends ausschließlich ein opulentes 4-Gänge Menü angeboten wurde. Wenn man darauf nicht eingerichtet ist guckt man schon komisch. Auf Nachfrage bekamen wir aber auch anstandslos ein kleines Gericht das wir völlig unbehelligt im Barbereich einnehmen konnten. Reisende mit Kindern sollten beachten, dass das Restaurant und das Spa zu bestimmten Zeiten für Kinder unter 8 Jahren nicht zugänglich sind. Kann man sich ja drauf einstellen oder halt mit den lieben Kleinen ein anderes Haus wählen :)

Friendly, comfortable, relaxing hotel and extensive grounds

The food was of a very high standard although slightly spoilt by not being hot enough by the time it got to the table

Amazing quality of the food, and staff were so friendly, helpful and keen to please. They also were very accommodating with my gluten free diet. Having a couple of options for afternoon tea, and remembering without being asked to provide gluten free toast in the morning.

I can't think of anything negative.

Staff were friendly and professional. Lovely quiet location. Good spa and excellent treatments.

No separate shower. Limited menu options - needs to be more flexible on evening and breakfast choices.
