Our philosophy is to create a hotel which fulfils our idea of the perfect place to go and stay. This perfect place, whether restaurant or hotel, should be entirely in sympathy with its surroundings.

We want it to be of that place as well as in it. Plentiful use of local aged timber and stone, along with muted tones ensures harmonious blending into this magnificent setting. A commitment to local and Scottish produce, when in season, is imaginatively and sympathetically prepared.

Easily accessible, only an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh, you drive through some remarkable Scottish scenery and upon reaching Port of Menteith, the lake unfolds before you with the hotel nestling lakeside.

Inside you will find a delightful house, much enlarged from the original 19th century manse. Our inspiration has been the unique lakeside setting and natural habitat for seasonal and permanent residents such as osprey, otter, geese, swans our duck family and more. Decorated in the warm and welcoming style of a classic New England waterfront hotel that perfectly compliments this special waterfront setting.

You may just want to come and relax, take in the unique views across the lake to the historic Isle of Inchmahome and mountains beyond. Watch the wildlife and fishers and let us temp you with all the good fresh produce at mealtimes.

There's a whole lot of activity throughout the year, from hill walking, golf, fishing to horse riding.

Travel information

From Stirling:
- Take the A811 (signposted Erskine Bridge) and at Arnprior turn right onto the B8034 (signposted Port of Menteith).
- Drive for approximately 5 miles and the hotel is on the left-hand side.

From Glasgow:
- Follow the A81 (Aberfoyle) through Blanefield and continue north.
- When you get to the roundabout just before Aberfoyle, turn right (signposted for Port of Menteith).
- Pass Braeval and continue until you come to the Port of Menteith.
- Turn right onto the B8034 and continue for about 500 yards. The hotel is on the right-hand side.
