The Lakenheath Hotel is a friendly, relaxed hotel with 7 rooms, a cozy restaurant and free Wi-Fi throughout. It is surrounded by countryside and is 20 minutes from highway A11. Built in 1655, the hotel has had many roles over the years, and was the village’s local pharmacy. It has retained its old world charm; ask about the hidden priest hole and tunnels. Friendly people and nice welcome. On arrival room was very cold and took a while to warm up.

Rather shabby, the linen was clean, the restaurant was closed as chef had had a nervous breakdown, Steve, of Steve's car hire run from the hotel, was not a good front man. The write up did not match the hotel, rather estate agent type.

The room was excellent as was the en suite facilities. The room was not made up during our 3 day stay although the card requesting this was placed out each day. The restaurant does not exist -no chef. Continental breakfast is a farce. Hot water available to make your own tea or coffee,cereals, milk, orange juice bread with toaster one pain au chocolate each.. Not a continental breakfast.

We arrived at the 'hotel' at 1.30 pm as it was stated on their website that we could book in between 12 - 6 pm.The main door was shut and locked so we rang the door bell which didn't appear to work so I knocked the door as loudly as I could,still no reply.We then rang the hotel number a few times,no answer,so we rang their car hire number,no answer.We then walked around the grounds but couldn't find anyone so we went on to our family's home.We did try contacting the hotel a few more times with no reply so we found somewhere else to stay,Rang the hotel manager when we returned but he was rude and aggressive calling me a liar saying that we didn't bother turning up.I Wish I'd read the reviews before booking as we would never have booked with this 'hotel'.Fawlty Towers springs to mind!!!DON'T Go here!!

Friendly relaxed atmosphere, clean and comfortable. The only disappointment for us was the chef being off sick resulting in no evening meals.

The lakenheath had character and was very clean and tidy. Homely lounge with large TV and free internet. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom. The lakenheath should really be marketed as a Bed and Breakfast. The restaurant was closed and there was no residents bar

The feeling of being at home while away from home was the best feature of the hotel. The hotel historical features make it adorable. Steve, was super helpful and had vast knowledge about the area. The room was quiet and comfortable. It was perfect for my business trip, but now I would love to go back and enjoy it with some friends for a holiday. We will be back soon!

Privacy & it was in the location I required. Like most hotels, if you are a solo customer you still pay the same room rate. I'm always tempted to ask for 2 breakfasts. Quite expensive for what it was

vriendelijke eigenaar op de laatste ochtend gehaast personeel bij het inchecken,lampen kapot in de gang. geen glazen op de kamer aanwezig, wel koelkast. de bedden werden niet opgemaakt na de eerste nacht, de badkamer werd niet gepoetst. onvriendelijk personeel bij het ontbijt. er was geen english breakfast mogelijk, niet eens een eitje.

Comfortable and convenient for the RSPB Bird reserve where we wanted to visit. We would book The Lakenheath Hotel again if we were in that area.
