Cost to expensive for a hotel in Carlisle
Helpful and friendly staff Comfortable
Location close to train station and town shopping centre.
Noise from outside air conditioning unit not allowing me a good nights sleep. The exit from the car park onto a narrow lane - not able to safely check for approaching vehicles. Evening meal somewhat overpriced.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
A tired hotel in need of renovation. My room was clean and tidy but desperately needed air conditioning to provide a good nights sleep without opening the window. With the window open there was loud extraction fans and the sounds from the nearby Wetherspoons pub garden.
Friendly efficient and polite staff. Clean and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent
Blown bulbs in room, no air con
The central location was perfect for us. The breakfast was good and the bedroom was comfortable.
The downside of the location outside the railway station was the amount of noise coming from the street during the night.
If you like train stations, this is the hotel for you. It's centrally located in Carlisle with easy access to the town centre. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was great too.
The hotel was very hot and due to it being an old building, had no air con. Fans in rooms would really have helped. Parts of the hotel are a bit tired, but it was being refurbished.
Central location, good staff good breakfast
Rooms needed updating, bathrooms tired, it was a warm weekend unable to open windows because the room opposite very loud disco
The fact that over 6 days I had to get a password for the free Wi-Fi 4 times. I was told that the password would allow WI-FI for 16 hours. However, it appeared to be 16 continuous hours (whether connected or not) rather than actually using it for 16 hours
all of our stay
Good breakfasts and generally helpful staff. Clean and comfortable room. (the replacement)
The first room we were allocated was extremely noisy, late at night and into the early morning. The shower was also luke warm and very slow flow. We were not informed about the payment procedures for parking in the station car park
My daughter who is 14 month old enjoyed the stay we had , she could walk around the bar while we had food and she had plenty to choose for breakfast over all we had a great stay in the hotel and I would recommend it to others
The wifi wasn't showing up on my phone which was a bit of a let down but everything else was great
Convenient location Good breakfast Staff friendly and efficient Blankets by request instead of duvet
View from dirty (outside) bedroom window - a wall and grimy passage with buildings shutting out most of the light. Not a wide choice on the dinner menu Powerless shower Car park a lottery
The location was perfect and the receptionist was very helpful on my arrival.
I thought the bar staff needed training on how to communicate with the residents not to go through to the other bar to talk to friends or other staff??
The hotel was in an excellent location. The facilities were as you'd expect from a hotel of this type
Whilst the facilities and room size were as expected, the accommodation area could do with the same degree of modernisation applied to the ground floor. There are a lot of 'olde worlde' fittings within the room and bathroom.
Great location Good food Great value
Parking is not easy to access with a car, but still free and close to hotel
The noise was unbearable worst night sleep ever
The bathroom had black mould in the shower which also dripped We were in a room at the front of the hotel and the noise to the late hours kept us awake. I pointed this out (both) to staff but here was no concern or reaction. They said they would note it.
A great place to stay, comfy, clean and a good bar and restaurant with excellent staff, and a great tariff . Also very close to other pubs and restaurants of your choice
The car park cost could be reduced, £12 per night is still a bit high.
Good location for shops etc. Room was clean. Most of staff friendly, a couple though didn't seem interested in their jobs.
Breakfast not really hot enough and cold plates. Noise from extraction pipes throughout the night.
breakfast not hot enough
The staff were super friendly and very helpful, the food was excellent. The location of the hotel is very central, train station is right next door.
The beds need some attention as it feels like they put a piece of plywood on top of the bed springs.
Breakfast and coffee in the room
Tthe wobbly lift (still wobbling after some years) The bathroom lack of aids and alarm especially for a 75 year old on her own. didn't use the bath or shower!
This hotel bedroom is a very tired not good parking only 26 places. You have to park in the station car park which is dearer than Heathrow hotels a rip off !!! Breakfast poor buffet for £103
