Location was great. Very close to everything you need, Lovely restaurant down the street from the Lamb & Lion.
No parking. No wifi in rooms. Single glazed windows which let in a draft and outside noise (sounded like we was sleeping with the widow open) stayed in Cedar Court Hotel night before for the exact amount of money. Not great value for money. Booked an executive room and was tiny.
Position so close to York Minster and bustling olde worlde streets!
Bedroom situated at front of hotel really noisey on street at night, need to invest in inner glazed windows! Would stay again but at the back of the hotel
Friendly and helpful staff Spacious clean room Comfortable bar area Delicious breakfast
The food, both breakfast and in particular evening meal, it was excellent The room was well equipped The location was great, close to the Minster The staff are excellent - helpful and extremely friendly
Nothing, we had a really nice stay.
We were greeted with a warm welcome and this positive approach never stopped. The room was cosy, clean and cute. The hotel is set in an idyllic spot to capture the essence of York. Breakfast was delicious and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
Breakfast. And kind staffs!
Our room had no wifi
Great access into York nice old world feel but all mod cons.
No double or secondary glazing so very noisy most of the night & early morning if at the front of building
First time in York the place is amazing the staff in the hotel are friendly and help in any way also the location is perfect close to the centre and Minster
Absolutely everything about it we had stayed the previous night at the Hilton but this place was much better. The staff were brilliant especially the young man who checked us in and out. The breakfast was gorgeous i had the Eggs Benedict beautiful my husband had the full English. 100% on the Hilton breakfast. Shall definately stay again, Soon i hope.
realy good service breakfast choice very good and evening meals excellent
lovely cosy warm room, comfy bed, good breakfast, nice bar area, great location.
Because it was an old quirky building the windows were obviously single glazed and you could hear the people passing by but it didn't affect our enjoyment.
Our room was spotless. The bed was really comfortable with quality bed linen. The towels were also quality also with the complimentary toiletries. Thee was plenty of ea,coffee, hot chocolate, water and biscuits in the room. The breakfast was outstanding, the best I'v had in a long time at any hotel or B & B.
Our room was at the front of the premises. We got quiet a lot of road noise and also noise from drunks leaving the city centre in the early hours. This is totally out of the control of the hotel and is not really there problem. It may be worthwhile asking for a room at the rear of thepremises, By o means treat thisas a complaint as the premises is great.
a wonderfully relaxing mother/daughter weekend. Staff were all very friendly
Only small thing was that the wifi password was incorrect.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Superior room was absolutely fine. Good inclusive breakfast. I would imagine the garden in the Summer would be an ideal location for a relaxing drink, it looked good in January!!
Food & drinks were a bit pricey in comparison to other local bars, otherwise can't fault.
Very central location right on Bootham Bar, nice room with a decent bathroom
Funny smell in the hallway before the stairs. Terrible breakfast with overcooked eggs and cold toast - we were the only ones in the restaurant so they weren't busy. Check in was in the pub, had to battle through locals to get our room keys.
Location, breakfast, dinner and staff.
Not the best bed and no WiFi in loft room (deluxe double) ... Very minor negatives.
Good location, nice big breakfast, good all round!
A bit noisy out side but not a big problem, couldn't get wi fi in our room only downstairs.
Nice room, good breakfast, nice soft towels, lovely quality bedding
Bedroom floor was filthy, my feet were black after walking to bathroom, which in turn made the sheets dirty. Bin not emptied from previous guest
Staff courteous, friendly and helpful. Location Brill comfortable homely rooms.
Bed a little uncomfy for my husband but I didn't feel it was too bad. Key card kept not working and had t replace it which wasn't a problem but it was when we rolled back late on the first night and had to get the night porter to let us in! We were trying not to disturb other guests but not easy when you can't get in!!
Friendly helpful staff.
I was not aware that the bedrooms were going to be on the top floor and 6 flights of stairs to negotiate or I would not have msde the booking.
Location, food, friendliness and efficiency of staff, good value.
Poor Wi-Fi in 3rd floor room.
Staff were great as was location. Would stay here again(in a bigger room)in summer as it has a great beer garden
Very small room and en-suite was very strange,at the end of a very long ,very narrow corridor.
We loved the bar and snugs, the food was absolutely amazing. Our bedroom was small but cosy and the bed supremely comfortable. Everything was within walking distance, and the bar served cold Prosecco by the glass!
One of our rooms had a faulty key, and as we were at the top of many, many staircases, to get to the top breathless and find that your key wouldn't open again was really annoying. This was obviously not a new problem as others have commented on it. Also, on Saturday when we returned at 5ish, the room wouldn't open but there were towels outside the door, so the staff must have been aware hours before and should really have sorted this out before we got back.
The room was nice, clean and warm. Bed was comfortable with good quality linen. Breakfast and evening meal all lovely.
The noise from the passers by in the street (which the pub can't help or have any control over)but ear plugs sorted this
