Comfy beds. Location Red kites flying just above hotel
Room very dusty
Everything so like home and comfortable
Comfortable large room, friendly staff, excellent breakfast.
Comfortable bed and very pleasant room, staff very helpful
The only problem was the remote for the TV not operating together. Staff tried to help but unable to solve for one night stay.
The room was large and clean. The restaurant was lovely and the gardens were great. Travelling with 5 dogs the staff were very helpful.
Light fittings in bathroom not well presented and Lino flooring.
Good location & the food is of a good quality. Have eaten here on a number of occassions
The hotel room was very dated & needed a make over. the carpets had not been vacuumed & the shower leaked all over the floor. The staff did not appear to be overly interested!
Location Food when it evenutually arrived
Shabby conditions in rooms Slow service in restaurant lack of customer care on reception
location was great restaurant and food were great staff friendly Large room
Bed was a little too soft
Nice room with lots of space. Excellent setting & nice view.
The interconnecting door to the next room could not be locked. The hinge of the loo seat was faulty so it fell off.
Was up to expectations and value for money.
Rooms were well finished and clean. Helpful staff. Nice décor.
Our room was not ready when we arrived which was a shame as we had requested this when booking and phoned again to confirm twice. We were offered another room to get ready in and this was dealt with quickly but it was a shame this couldn't have been sorted from the start. The back of the hotel has the ever present hum of the M40 and the front is on a main road which was noisy from 6am onwards. Needless to say we didn't have the best night's sleep.
Size of room Feel of the place Amenities
Lacking attention to detail, for example: the tap in the sink sprayed water everywhere (outside the sink), the shower lever was stiff, the shower head needed cleaning, the shower gel bottle wasn't replaced every day, the wardrobe door squeaked. All minor stuff, but a little annoying.
The bed was uncomfortable, the duvet was too warm and eventually we had to take the cover off and sleep under the cover. When we arrived we were told that for £10 each we could have breakfast with a choice which included kippers. On arriving in the restaurant the next morning the breakfast menu said "Extras... Kippers with grilled tomatoes £3"it transpired that It was impossible to have kippers instead of bacon as part of the full English (even for an extra £3) - we could have a full English or kippers, which came with grilled tomatoes and nothing else and cost the price of a full English + £3. We gave up on the kippers. The full English was nothing to write home about. The place is part of a chain, so I'm prepared to give the staff the benefit of the doubt and assume they had no choice in the matter, but we certainly won't go there again.
Size and comfort of room Wi Fi easy to access and fast good value for money
Staff were warm and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. Very enjoyable stay.
The hotel is situated on a very busy 'A' road, which seems to be the local race track!! The Wi-Fi reception did not work for us at all. A car is essential as the hotel is on the edge of a village.
Friendly and professional staff, comfortable bed, cute and vintage style furniture, good amenities, free wifi. I also enjoyed the complimentary water and biscuit every day. All together it was great, I would definitely return.
The room and linens were neat and nice, and housekeeping staff was thoughtful, but the cleanliness of the bathroom and carpet was not up to the standards when we checked in. But other than that there was no problem.
Lovely decor, great value. Will definitely re-visit.
The convenient location. Quiet rooms.
The bathroom needs a make-over. light fitting broken. Wall badly plastered where a fitting had broken off. The breakfast fresh fruit was not as good as it has been in the past. Meagre cooked portions.
Lovely hotel in good location. Unfortunately our shower didn't work but the manager was more than happy to compensate for us. I also left some jewellery at the hotel which had been handed in and the hotel were happy to send back to me. Really happy with this customer service. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that.
The location and hotel was beautiful! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely but overpriced!
One of the members of staff (I think the manager) was very rude and sarcastic! Did not like he's attitude at all and by the looks of it is rude to his staff members too! However the young girl on the front desk was very friendly and welcoming :).
room was large and comfortable food was excellent
The beds were not king size
Great location for nature and walking Also really convenient as buses oxford to London, and Heathrow and Gatwick stop less than half a mile away Would also be good as a stop off for M40 journeys. Good food and comfy rooms
The hotel is dated, but loads of character, really nice staff, would definately stay there again.
The way the bar was set up was a bit unusual, but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it, so no complaints really.
Convenient location; restaurant with excellent food on site; Oxford tube to Oxford every 15 minutes.
Our room was located on road side so it was very noisy. We had to close the window and there was no air conditioning so was very warm.
Excellent staff - most friendly & helpful; On our visit in a scorching July, the aircon was a definite plus. Restaurant food was varied and all good. Nice atmosphere blending an old inn with a modern courtyard of rooms. Beds comfortable and even though the inn fronted onto a main road, the rooms were very quiet. Upstairs rooms had lift access. Parking was adequate and handy. We've never been let down yet with a booking.com booking.
Some of our bathroom fittings were in need of attention - the hotel in general was probably in need of some renovation although in general, this added to the character of the place. There was a problem with the bill, as although I'd paid up front to the time of booking, there seemed to be a couple of extra amounts unpaid - happily these were eventually waived by the receptionist.
