Really enjoyed staying at the Lambert Arms for a wedding in Oxford. Comfortable, quiet and very reasonably priced. We will be back.
location - just off M40 once I found it bed ok
no heating in bathroom, exacerbated by an old "Crittal" window next to the bath chipped bath enamel faded decorations, stained carpeting about £30 over priced
Cosy bar and restaurant. Breakfast was great and the guy running breakfast was very efficient
Both radiators in my room didnt work. I had to go to the reception 3 times to ask for something to be done! It wasnt fixed and the only thing they could offer was a room that had just been vacated because the tv didnt work. Poor response, and cold room. Staff for dinner werent very friendly either. Corridors were unhoovered. Seems like the hotel management need to step up to the mark!
Most things and a very good breakfast
We stayed in the older part of the hotel, which was generally very nice. However, the bathroom let the room down a little bit, there was mold in the shower cubicle and the windows in the bathroom were metal, single glaze. (this may have something to do twith a preservation order), but I'm sure something could have been done to make them look better (eg frosting on the glass like they have done downstairs
Lovely hotel. New bedrooms - large, fully equipped and very comfortable. Bathrooms excellent. Hotel warm - despite cold damp weekend. Log fires in main part of hotel wonderful. Pets are welcomed. This was not intrusive. Good parking.
The main part of the hotel was clean - but the greyish decor is a bit dull, and not to my taste. I suppose the open fires(which I loved) don't help - but in general the bar and dining areas need a coat of paint. I feel sure they will get round to this.
The friendly staff were exceptional, really helpful - nothing too much trouble. Comfortable room, good location - overall great stay, thank you.
The bathroom was a bit dated, but that is being really picky especially as we only stayed one night.
Menu Quality of food Bar staff Easy parking wi-fi
Cheap looking bathroom and fittings, floor looked grubby, shower head gunky, looked more like a motel bathroom
Great service and convenient location for access to Oxford and Oxfordshire. We also really enjoyed the restaurant food, so much so we had three courses both nights we were there.
The mattress was a little uncomfortable but it did not stop us getting a good nights sleep.
Very comfortable, warm and private room. Comfortable bed. Good food via room service. Great night's sleep.
Location perfect good menu breakfast cooked to order, free wifi
Noisy fan in bathroom, low level flush room warm despite air co
This place was a delight. We only had the breakfast but it was excellent. Room had character, bed was comfy and we really heard very little from the nearby motorway.
Room was fantastic Bar area, lounge and dining room very attractive
Staff need training in customer service Our room was very near function room so couldn't sleep because of noise
Food. Chicken on evening tough and returned. Hot breakfast was cold. Soya milk off then replaced in a huge jug. Staff made you feel like a nuisance. Asked did we want to taste the wine answered no so plonked unopened bottle on table and walked away.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the restaurant delicious and the staff friendly. Lovely hotel.
The walk to the closest Oxford Tube stop was not easy and quite far - you really need a car in this location.
Nothing as I never arrived as apparently the room flooded before we had the chance to.
Being booked out.
Loved the comfy bed Liked the view size of bathroom although much too large for size of bath
wall colour was hideous bath was titchy only one towel in bathroom rest we found next morning in cupboard having shared a wet towel said fresh milk on card on hospitality tray but only UHT,(I dislike UHT with a passion) Our friends had a disabled room which lacked any character and was horrible... couldn't have room service as two functions on. and because of functions the bar area was messy , there wasn't much room in bar area to sit and had to sit in restaurant and felt obliged to order anything small despite having dined at La manoir at lunch and was stuffed.
The receptionist was very nice and helpful
The waiting staff where terrible. No wi fi.
Although there was a mix up the staff sorted everything out and kept me fully informed. Good to see that alternative accommodation could have been supplied if necessary
Car park was a little dark and poorly signposted that said I saw in the morning there was two and I think I was probably in the overflow
I loved the old world atmosphere of the hotel, although it had its disadvantages when our initial room was near a busy room, but our request to change rooms was met straight away and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.
The shower gel, it seemed a bit ordinary, I like to take hotel shower gels home with me.
Great location for walking and nature. Friendly welcome, good facilities
Very well run.
Accommodation block some way from hotel,no cover!
Friendly atmosphere, with good service. Pleasant location with good parking. Nice clean room and serviceable.
Accommodation a little dated but perfectly ok
We had had a long journey through France and taken the ferry to Dover, it was a welcome break in our journey to Cheshire.
The motorway noise, you cannot have it always, we where glad of the location for traveling but this meant that the front rooms do suffer from noise from the motorway.
The food was excellent, the staff very friendly, room was a delight. Very good local beer served. Location is good for jumping on a bus into Oxford, and the little villages around are great for exploring.
