Size of room Feel of the place Amenities
Lacking attention to detail, for example: the tap in the sink sprayed water everywhere (outside the sink), the shower lever was stiff, the shower head needed cleaning, the shower gel bottle wasn't replaced every day, the wardrobe door squeaked. All minor stuff, but a little annoying.
Size and comfort of room Wi Fi easy to access and fast good value for money
Friendly and professional staff, comfortable bed, cute and vintage style furniture, good amenities, free wifi. I also enjoyed the complimentary water and biscuit every day. All together it was great, I would definitely return.
The room and linens were neat and nice, and housekeeping staff was thoughtful, but the cleanliness of the bathroom and carpet was not up to the standards when we checked in. But other than that there was no problem.
Lovely decor, great value. Will definitely re-visit.
The convenient location. Quiet rooms.
The bathroom needs a make-over. light fitting broken. Wall badly plastered where a fitting had broken off. The breakfast fresh fruit was not as good as it has been in the past. Meagre cooked portions.
Lovely hotel in good location. Unfortunately our shower didn't work but the manager was more than happy to compensate for us. I also left some jewellery at the hotel which had been handed in and the hotel were happy to send back to me. Really happy with this customer service. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that.
The location and hotel was beautiful! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely but overpriced!
One of the members of staff (I think the manager) was very rude and sarcastic! Did not like he's attitude at all and by the looks of it is rude to his staff members too! However the young girl on the front desk was very friendly and welcoming :).
room was large and comfortable food was excellent
The beds were not king size
Great location for nature and walking Also really convenient as buses oxford to London, and Heathrow and Gatwick stop less than half a mile away Would also be good as a stop off for M40 journeys. Good food and comfy rooms
The hotel is dated, but loads of character, really nice staff, would definately stay there again.
The way the bar was set up was a bit unusual, but the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it, so no complaints really.
Convenient location; restaurant with excellent food on site; Oxford tube to Oxford every 15 minutes.
Our room was located on road side so it was very noisy. We had to close the window and there was no air conditioning so was very warm.
Excellent staff - most friendly & helpful; On our visit in a scorching July, the aircon was a definite plus. Restaurant food was varied and all good. Nice atmosphere blending an old inn with a modern courtyard of rooms. Beds comfortable and even though the inn fronted onto a main road, the rooms were very quiet. Upstairs rooms had lift access. Parking was adequate and handy. We've never been let down yet with a booking.com booking.
Some of our bathroom fittings were in need of attention - the hotel in general was probably in need of some renovation although in general, this added to the character of the place. There was a problem with the bill, as although I'd paid up front to the time of booking, there seemed to be a couple of extra amounts unpaid - happily these were eventually waived by the receptionist.
Poor staff training.
friendly staff excellent food modern, spacious rooms
Location, food, room, the gardens and the staff are friendly and helpful
Didn't realisethe £12.50 for breakfast was a one of price for anyrhing and the first day I only had a bacon and mushroom sandwhich and the next morning just poached eggs on toast costing me £25 in total which was way over priced, it needs to be made clear its a one off cost no matter what you have, it put a dampner on an otherwise lovely stay when we settled the bill and found this out.
Very good and comfortable rooms.
The staff were rude and inefficent.
Bar and pub
Bathroom stinking and horrible. Picture are not telling the truth as one part ok but the rest is really bad
Room size and location good
Overpriced compared to other hotels locally
Fantastic weekend rates, well situated for town and country. Large room dog welcome.
Out by 11.00 Restaurant closed too early for us.
Food was good
Bed was very uncomfortable
Staff very friendly Food very good
Very helpful staff
Noisy plumbing. Slow check out because of computer system
Hotel location, good food and service.
One bedroom located immediately next to wedding reception venue and therefore disturbed by noise on both nights. Rooms were NOT ready at time of agreed arrival.
Very noisey room due to traffic
Very handy for the Motorway and the opera at Wormsley
Kippers at breakfast were barely edible and very expensive.
