comfortable room and a good size

The room was really nice including really comfy beds! Great breakfast, either continental breakfast or British.

Maybe the location. The hostel was a really bit more outisde from Durham than expected...

Tad noisy at times but it is a pub,and it didn't really bother us.Would visit again!!

The guinness. The breakfast was very nice and so were the staff.The room was fine as we were only there for the night.

You could hear the music from downstairs which we expected to, being a pub. It was the music that started after 11 that was a bit to loud and went on for over an hour.

The food and food service was very good and very fairly priced.

The bar & rooms although clean were very "tired" and badly in need of some tlc. I got the impression that the hotel is possibly in the hands of new and young proprietors. If that is the case we hope that the surroundings do not put people off as they have great potential

Clean,cosy and comfortable rooms,lost of character.Food nicely cooked especially the steaks and can recomend the chicken wings!! Staff very friendly and welcoming, overall we enjoyed our stay. :-)

Photographs off the room in the website made it look much better than it was. Bed very hard and uncomfortable. Bedding very tired and old, bathroom sparse. Breakfast not very good

Menu choice

The locals in the bar were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The pizzas on the menu were homemade, very tasty and excellent value for money.

Very cosy restaurant with very good evening meal deal. Breakfast was really nice with a large choice of cereals. staff were very friendly.
