Situated in Hastings town centre, less than a mile from Hastings Castle, Alexanders is a family-run hotel overlooking the Sussex Coast. The historic Old Town is just a short stroll along the seafront....
Score from 177 reviews Very good
The room was nice lovely view very clean
Quite noisy early evening there was a nasty smell in bathroom.
Location,TV, mini fridge,Bathroom and sea view.
Excellent location and excellent facilities, nice comfy bed in a well decorated room. Very close to town centre too.
Soap dispensers were awkward and didn't give out much soap even when pressed lots .
staff very helpful and friendly great location good sea view large room modern bathroom
tacky décor, poorly finished, especially in public areas. unwelcoming bar area Bathroom could be cleaner
The room had a sea view. Breakfast, the hot meal cooked to order. Underground carpark which was free for hotel guests from 4 pm until 11 am, because of a promotion by the Hastings council.
Location and sea view room
Beds were a bit small
The Deluxe room is big, spacious and overlooks the sea front. Even though we had two rooms, this is the room we spent ALL our time in. The bathroom is modern and nice as well. Lovely room.
The standard doubleroom is a slightly bigger single. There is hardly any space to move in the room. The ensuite is like a matchbox with the water closet and wash basin almost touching each other...A bit uncomfortable.very stuffy and hot.
Location, staff very helpful
Very dated, room very dusty, reminded me of my grandmother's house.
A Central Location with helpful staff.
The room was overlooking the beach and was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom had a very good shower. Loved the fact that the coffee provided was ground with a cafeteria provided. Would definitely recommend the hotel.
Location friendly staff lovely cooked breakfast
room too hot bathroom a little unclean
This hotel is bad in every way .its the worse one i stayed in hastings.my door lock was broken and it took me 10 Min to get in or get out of my room wheni complaint they didnt do any thing.i stayied for 3 nights and they never chancged the towls once.the stuff where ignorant also.i stayed in maney hotels in Hastings but never like this one
All of it
I had booked myself into the most expensive room, so it was absolutely wonderful. The balcony had a sea view. You could choose cooked breakfast from the menu. WiFi worked. It`s a 10 minute walk to the station. All staff have been very friendly.
The ventilation in the bathroom was VERY loud.
Good location - room with sea view
Hotel is very tired and in need of major renovation
The room was clean and airy. The sea view was splendid.
The lift terrified us - too small for 2 people + bags, so claustrophobic, and the door did not open automatically on arrival, the lengthy moment of waiting gave us time to panic ! Rather surly welcome at reception, but he did upgrade our room.
The location was brilliant, There is a bar that is almost always open, The beds are comfy, You are allowed in and out throughout the day and in the evening you can get back as late as you want. It is clean and very secure. I did not once fear leaving my belongings in my room.
The walls are thin so I could hear the couple next door.
Location and positioning of room was excellent. Room was comfortable. Good potential for a spruce up. Good value for its location.
Reception area was embarrassingly small and cold. Very small, slow lift that could do with a paint job. Breakfast had some limitations.
The room was really warm, no aircon and you couldn't open any windows. The shower wasn't great.
Good cooked breakfast.
Very confined staircases/landings - not advisable for anyone who suffers with claustrophobia. The lift only takes 1 person with a case - very confined. A lot of stairs if you are on the top floor. Bit girmy looking round the base of the shower. Rusty metal bin in friend's bathroom and peeling wallpaper behind radiator.
Lovely sea view. Helpful staff.
I had a quiet, large and comfortable room with a sea view (I chose a deluxe room because it was inexpensive). I would definitely stay there again.
A fridge in the room was noisy but I just turned this off at night. The cleanliness of the bathroom floor could have been better because I noticed an accumulation of dust on the edges.
Location and renovated rooms
Old building layout and lift but acceptable
Bedding quality was ok
Everything else. Bathroom was a disgrace like it had been renovated by the worst DIY amateur. It was also dirty not cleaned properly. The pedal bin was rusty. Towel rail not fitted properly shower was a dribble. How they got 4 stars is beyond belief. How they can charge £90 is incredible.
Position of hotel, comfortable room with all essentials. Good breakfast. Helpfull staff.
No parking, although pay for is available right outside.
Lovely view from the balcony and room. Very tastefully decorated. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
