Score from 55 reviews Superb
This is a really good basic/budget guesthouse for anyone watching the pennies whilst exploring the Brecon Beacons. Very dog friendly indeed, with very helpful and welcoming staff
Just don't expect fancy toiletries and you should be fine
wifi not available in 3rd floor
Modern and clean rooms/facilities, bike lock-up and cleaning facilities. Friendly staff. Opposite train station and only a few minutes walk from main town centre with lots of pubs/restaurants/shop.
The staff were wonderful, friendly and generous. They would have provided some simple food at the bar but I decided to walk my veyr active small boys into the village. The West End Café was perfect for hot meals and has an impressive range of cakes for another occasion. The next morning we called in at the castle and weren't disappointed, apart from the 'Darth Vader' statue there is also a playground on the other side of the hill on which the castle sits. Perfect stopover place between the Brecon Beacons and more western South Wales.
A chair or two would have made a lot of difference in the bedroom, as would a shelf for personal items such as glasses and phone/alarm clock by each bed. That's about all I can think of!
The staff were lovely...Sofi was delightful.
Waiting 1 hour for very burnt pizza...we were offered a replacement but after travelling 7 hours and 9pm my teenager and I were too tired to eat it. Also the traffic was very bad with lorries rumbling past day and night. Sleeping was very difficult.
staff, location , breakfast.
nowhere to put things by bed - not a single table or shelf. Shower would not switch off - had to ask staff. No bath. Bed was small double.
I absolutely loved this place! Favourite place out of 3 months traveling Europe! I felt so comfortable and at home here and Sally and Sophia were such lovely people who kept me company and helped me with my travels. Offered for me to stay as many nights as I needed to get my plans sorted and allowed me to have the dorm room to myself to relax in. I felt so comfortable sitting watching tv and chatting with Sally and even her family that came to visit. Really did feel like part of their family which was so comforting after traveling solo for a long time. The village is so cute and the location of the hostel is amazing. Right next to the train station and service station, but no noise or traffic at night at all. Opposite the bus stop which is so handy to! Absolutely loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!!
Leaving! I want to stay!!
Staff, Clean and comfortable
No Kettle etc, but it is mainly a bunk house
Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
Room was very hot but staff brought us fans which helped a lot!
Friendly clean good food & welcoming Steve Oxford
The staff were fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating.
The staff were very helpful and efficient. They were very accommodating with our 2 large dogs. Everywhere was clean and fresh, and the rooms and food were great value for money.
Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean.
Poor value for money, it seemed a lot to pay for what we got compared to other places in the area. They need to let guests know in advance that there are no towels provided even in an ensuite room.
Very friendly, newly refurbished, central location, good food and breakfast, good value.
Birthday party with a band and disco going on so a bit noisy, but did stop at a reasonable hour, so no sleep lost.
They did not inform us that they are not provising towels.
Staff were tremendous nothing was too much trouble. Everywhere was cleaned to the nth degree. will definately use again!
The value-for-money it represented

Basic, but very clean & comfortable . Recently refurbished throughout to a very good standard. Food good & reasonably priced. Staff friendly & welcoming. Would definitely stay when in this area again
- food: dinner was excellent - staff: very kind and friendly
Staff were very friendly and accommodating even when we arrived past 1am! Rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable.
