The Limes Country Lodge  

The first impression on driving in was very good, unfortunatly this went rapidly down hill.

Reception not open at times stated on web site. Did not encounter staff at any time during stay. Notifications found in welcome pack in room gave details of booking meals prior to arrival, this should of been mentioned on web site to at least to be given the opportunity to book an evening meal. Bathroom was very tired with cracked floor tiles, the shower base showing signs of mould & trim hanging off.

A lovely lodge,breakfast was good in a room overlooking a nice garden. The room was pleasant.

The shower in the room was diabolical, more like a drip and the water was barely luke warm, After a long day this was very upsetting. The room was very cold, although there was heating in the room to use, it wasn't turned on. These are my two complaints shower and water! If these issues were sorted out then I would stay again.

Grossly overpriced at £72 b&B. Should be no more than £42. Listed as having a restaurant but its not open in the evening and food has to be ordered before 2pm. No other places to eat within walking distance. Not even a snack vending machine on site. The grounds are nice and to a good standard but, as I was only there in the hours of darkness, I only saw them at breakfast.

The building/exterior it was warm & cosy in the room well equipped (wish we'd known in advance), with ironing board, fridge, kettle etc. Could have self-catered if had had a microwave! Great flat-screen tv lots of hot water clean comfy bed efficient receptionist/caretaker

It is nice hotel, in nice area. Room was very nice and clean. The price was good.

Stayed only the one night but would have stayed longer if needed no problem, good location next to the m42, Really comfortable double bed nice and firm, I just wish more accomodation was as comfortable. Breakfast very good, well cooked and plentiful.

My wife and I recently enjoyed our first overnight stay at the Limes Country Lodge. The hotel was set in rural countryside and first to impress were the excellently maintained grounds. Our room was neat, tidy, adequately furnished and well equipped with essentials such as tee / coffee making facilities and hair dryer etc. The staff we encountered were all polite and courteous, always acknowledging guests when passing. I would also make a special mention of the excellent breakfast chef who had a very friendly and personable approach and both willingly and successfully accomodated my essential, dietary requirements (coeliac). We make infrequent visits to the Birmingham area and would not hesitate to use the Limes Country Lodge again.

Lovely spacious room, with iron, ironing board, baby cot.. All in the room, very practical.

The shower was a let down for a power shower lover.

Good price,good facilities i.e. bedroom, ensuite bathroom,very clean room and bedding. Very quite location and nice breakfast could not find any faults, even the local taxi service was good price and on time.

Nice and peaceful

Only seen one member of staff and she only contacted me to deliver my receipt.A Nicely located small hotel in need of some redecoration and TLC>However value for money at 42gbp for one night.

Bed was comfortable

Nobody there when we arrived despite being given a specific time to check in, intercom linked to someone off site. Room was locked despite being told it was open with key inside. Luckily someone was in the house to let us in. we did not see any staff at all during our two night stay. Payment was taken the day before we arrived, although it was mentioned the card might be pre authorised the booking confirmation said we would pay during our stay

There was no reception and no security - the door was open to the outside and it was a really frightening experience to walk across the car park early in the morning knowing that there was no-one around. It was a motel - and not a hotel- and it should be advertised as such especially for females travelling alone. Anyone from the outside had access to the rooms and there was even a printed list of the guests outside the entrance so that anyone could see in which rooms females were staying.
