In a lovely position beside the seafront. Comfortable bed and adequate clean bathroom. Good value for the money. Friendly welcome.
It was a very long way to climb to room on the 5th floor with luggage. Fire instructions on back of door were faded and we didn't feel we would have much chance of escape if there had been a fire.
Perfect location, seafront and 2 minute walk to town centre. Beautiful and historic town, Hastings, with plenty to do. Hotel was nice and peaceful.
Spiral stairs to all floors, with no lift. No catering / restaurant, so you had to eat out / bring back takeaway.
Location was very good.
Bed was very uncomfortable, and duvet didn't fit the bed. Shower not attached to wall which was not very user friendly.
Location - easy access to seafront and Hastings new and old town. Room and bathroom were both a decent size. The guy 'on duty' was helpful, when asked.
Room not cleaned for 3 days. No heating in the room. Had to ask for replenishments (tea / coffee) each morning. No one in the building when checking out so unable to discuss our stay.
I was offered a free room upgrade as there were not many guests. The staff we're very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there. Beautiful sea views.
The front door was very difficult to open and the room needed a bit more heating.
The location is good as right on the seafront
This hotel was a joke! There was no reception, no hairdryer, no shower, peeling wallpaper, stains all over the carpets and the most uncomfortable bed ever! On top of that we were really cold and when we finally got hold of the guy running the hotel he told us that the only spare duvet had been lent out so we had to sleep with a jumper on. Oh, and due to the lack of a reception, someone left the main door to the hotel open at night and the entrance hall was used by a passerby to "relieve" themselves. Never again!!!!!!!!
The room was very old & dirty. Stained sheets, broken chair, cobwebs in few places. Cold as no heating available. No sleep due to the fact that we had room 1 ground floor next to reception so were disturbed by guest asking for assistance. Huge curtains but top opened so outside light was shining through all night. Definitively not a 4 star rating in the visit England brand nor worth £60 when breakfast wasn't even included. Never again!!!!!
The linen was clean
Room dirty Televisions in 4 rooms did not work Manager not open about the problems Had to pay up front Toilet seat in one room fell off
Compact and clean with a friendly host right on the seafront and bang in the middle of town. I will Def be using this place again. The owner Phil is a funny and chatty guy who will make you laugh
The convienence to the sea front
The noise from the street behind room 9
Enjoyed the sea view,I could read newspapers through the wifi/ internet in my room.
comfortable and value .good position
in the penthouse ! nice room & view but 4th floor & NO-LIFT!.
the tea was nice
deceptive photos on the website, nobody on the front desk until 4pm, cramped room. I don't know what I expected but it wasn't this.
The seafront location, not much else really. The bed was ok too
Where to start. Old fashioned, 'en suite ' bathroom means a tub with old handheld shower attachment. No mixer taps, wardrobe is in the airing cupboard, tele not working. Dirty tiny balcony. No bar or any facilities at all
Although it is a budget hotel, it was very clean and the view from my bedroom was lovely
It was very sparse on staff and very difficult to get into the premises until you finally manage to book in and get a key
Had to climb four flights of stairs to get to the room.. Only saw one member of staff on check-in who then disappeared.Room was basic. It was clean and whilst the towels were white, they certainly weren't 'fluffy'. There were no complimentary bathroom bits as promised in the blurb and only one solitary plastic water cup. The 'double bed' was in fact two twins pushed together...Blob of jam on one of the mugs on the tea tray (which was interesting as no breakfast included)..Sounded and looked much better in the online description and photo than as was the reality...No one around to air any issues with - only a telephone number...Would liken it more to staying in an over-priced hostel....Suffice it to say, we won't be returning any time soon ...
We just wanted a bed for the night as we were staying in Hastings for one night. This guest house was ideal for this. Liked the idea of the 'keydrop' facility to check out if there was no one on reception. The room was small but clean and comfortable and would use again for a short stay.
Nothing comes to mind.
cant give a review as when we arrived at 10.30 pm could not get in and was no answer to ringing of doorbell.Hotel rang following day explained what had happened and they said would be no charge . Had a feeling may not have been first time !
Room was clean. Nice little veranda overlooking the beach.
No parking near the hotel unless you get lucky with a few spots in front. Stayed on a Saturday night; horrible booming regae music prevented sleep.
The cost was value for money
There was noise during the night from the taxi rank and bar if you stay in room 7
The man was very helpful , good location .
There was no record of our booking, so a bit of confusion to start, but soon sorted, Lots of hair in bath plug, no information on any of the touristy things going on in the info book, all a tad run down, But you get what you pay for,
Location balcony and view. Night person easy to deal with
No shower head only hand held option. Otherwise lovely
On suite shower room. Sea view
Window was behind the bed. No breakfast.
Good location near to the pier. Very cheap rates. Just two points. They don't do breakfast so you will have to buy it just around the corner but at these rates that was understandable. Also I was on the 3rd floor which could be a problem for someone who has difficulty with lots of stairs. But for me it was fine. Would definitely stay there again.
Loads of stairs. No lift.
Lovely place to stay central to everything Room clean and comfortable
We had top floor room this time and it was eighty stairs UP VERY TIRING !!!
