Fabolous...absolutely fabolous. Although quite remote in location, the place is perfect for a few days getaway. Fiona and Tim are the perfect hosts, always willing to accommodate you in every way possible. And the food cooked by Fiona is to die for....

Room was very comfortable and food was amazing (Fresh and Local). Easy to find and plenty of parking. Fiona and Tim were very friendly and attentive. We were lucky enough to have a personalised dining experience on our second night although the price of food reflected that privilege. It was too far away from Snowdonia to make a excellent base for mountain walking. Whilst Fiona and Tim were lovely it was easy to feel swamped by their attention as the guest house was not full when we stayed.

Tim & Fiona were great hosts, food was great and the location is very peaceful, but also a good base for exploring Snowdownia and the coast. Our room was really nice with a sunny veranda overlooking the paddock. Look forward to returning soon. Friendliest place we've ever stayed.

An enjoyable stay in a lovely old village inn in a somewhat remote area. Very comfortable with good facilities and excellent meals prepared by Fiona. An excellent bar, supported by guests and locals, which is always a sign of a good pub Tim, with his outgoing welcoming personality is definitely in the right job. We liked all aspects of the inn but it is a bit remote and difficult to find, but well worth it when you do!

This is a great spot that is just off the well worn tourist path through Betws-y-coed. Go for the solitude of a small farming village. Return for another dose of Fiona's cooking! Our room (Lavendar) was cozy and immaculately kept. If you are over 6'0", as I am, you will find the shower a tight fit, but this is the only negative I can come up with. These folks know how to run an inn.

Friendly and personal service. Tim & Fionna could not have been more attentive, and were happy to assist in the planning of visits to local attractions and areas of interest. The food was varied and absolutely excellent. The Lion is an inn in the real sense enlivened by their local clientelle in the evenings.

The Lion Inn Gwytherin is a fabulous place to escape to as it in located in a very small and quiet village amongst the Welsh countryside. The food is loving prepared and the hosts exceptionally friendly and helpful. Free Internet access was great as there is no mobile reception in the area.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious - good quality and locally sourced. The attention to detail and quality of the amenities in the room were excellent. The location is superb, if you want to get away from it all; it's a very tranquil little village off the beaten track - but only 15 minutes drive to the nearest town. We can't think of anything we didn't like, and had booked to return before we left.

Having had the great priviledge of travelling many parts of the world, we have yet to experience better hospitality than that we received from Fiona and Tim at the Lion. As a last minute decision to stay in the area, 'The Bothy' was their only remaining accomodation which has limited ceiling height. Both 6ft tall we decided to take a chance and we were not disappointed. It was absolutely delightful. Yes....very low ceiling in the bedroom, but beautifully furnished, meticulously clean and very quirky! Fiona and Tim are the perfect hosts they could not do enough to make our stay perfect, the locals were very friendly and Fiona's cooking is not to be missed she really is fantastic! The Lion rely on internet bookings and we cannot recommend the inn enough, it should be at the top of your list when staying in and around the area. The reviews speak for themselves. We arrived as guests and left feeling like old friends. We enjoyed our stay immensely and cannot wait to return!!! Thank you both very much! What's not to like!

The location is remote but once we sampled the ale, gourmet food, the friendliness of Tim and Fiona, the last thing on our minds was going elsewhere. The accomodation "the Boffy" was so cosy and fully equipped, it was like having our own little apartment. I would HIGHLY recommend the Lion Inn for a nice quiet break, away from the madding crowd. Tim and Fiona have made this one of the wonders of North Wales :-)
