Fabulous place! The innkeepers were warm and welcoming. This is an upscale inn with gourmet food for breakfast and in the small restaurant. The fire in the cozy bar was perfect for meeting a few locals and watching the snow fall outside. It was a perfect countryside place to spend a few days visitng Northern Wales.

We enjoyed three nights at The Lion Inn which is tucked away in a quiet spot in the lovely Welsh countryside. Our hosts Fiona and Tim were most welcoming and a delightful couple who worked tirelessly to ensure all their guests were well looked after. The breakfasts and the evening dinners were excellent and there is a very cosy atmosphere in the bar. Our bedroom and bathroom was spotlessly clean and had everything we could have wished for and in addition it was so very peaceful. We would not hesitate in returning to The Lion Inn should we visit this part of Wales again. There is so much to do and see in the area around Gwytherin and it is in a good location for easy access to mountain scenery, castles, gardens and the coast.

Tim and Fiona were absolutely lovely people and operate their Inn in a very friendly yet professional manner. Fiona's cooking is the highlight of the stay, every meal was a joy. Location is very pleasant; isolated but yet not too far from main roads and the ares main attractions. The decor of the entire Inn was superb; beautiful dining area, comfortable pub space with glorious real wood fire and sspace to enjoy it with a pint or a dram. My room was small but extremely well appointed, the only issue I found with this stay, and I haven't decided if it is a "return visit" preclusion yet, was that the room was situated directly above the pub area and the non-stop loud and joyous revelry from below was not dampened in the slightest by the flooring between us. I was unable to get any sleep until the pub closed down and the din from below abated.

We really enjoyed our stay, Tim & Fiona are very welcoming. Fiona food is of a very high standard she maximises the local meats which is excellent all local or home made produce. Tim great as front of house - nice interaction with the local farmers, when you sit in the bar of an evening you feel included and relaxed. They will make it big by being small and friendly lovely!. They both work very hard in ensuring you have a great stay. We wish them the best of luck for the future. Our stay wasn't long enough!

the hosts Tim & Fiona where incredibly friendly & made us welcome from the start. If you want a lovely quite break then this is the place for you. Cannot fault the pub,as much as i tried i could not find a fault,it has upset me as my aim is to find some-thing wrong but that Tim must have known what i was up to(so i shall have to return) Fiona,s cooking was out of this world, both for breakfast & dinner(shame about the waiter in the morning,s,he just seemed to get in the way)only-joking

We liked the fact that there are only six rooms so we got personal attention from Fiona and Tim. We really liked the atmosphere and especially Fiona's cooking! We really enjoyed the whole time.

The hospitality of the hosts is second to none, the staff are also very good. They are all very helpfull, and cant seem to want to do enough for you during your stay. The rooms are very tastefully decorated in a lovely theme in keeping with the area. The evening meals have to be the best we've enjoyed for quite a while. The local micro brewery cask ales are also very good. Tim and Fi are excellent hosts, and I would definatley recommend the Lion Inn to friends, and hope to come back again myself in the future. No complaints at all about our stay, only wish it could have been longer.

The Lion Inn is a very friendly Inn located in a small village within driving distance of the Snowdon ia Park. The owners Tim and Fiona are very caring about their guests. The restaurant is excellent. The food highly recommended. We would certainly recommend the Inn to our friends and relatives..... Actually we already have. The only criticism was the size of the shower. As a 6 ft 2 person I found it very tight.

Tim and Fiona made us very welcome, offering great food, a lovely comfortable stay and good advice about where to go and what to see in Snowdonia. If you like an unspoilt little valley, an old inn and excellently cooked farm produce, then you will like The Lion Inn.

We stayed here for a week-end to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, having dropped our 3 year old off with parents. We had a beautiful weekend - from sitting in the sun drinking ice cold Pinot Grigio (recommended by Fiona) the evening we arrived, reading our books and looking out over the hills from the garden terrace, to waking up on the monday morning stiff as a board having climbed Snowden the day before. This was a very memorable and perfect week-end for us, made so really by the attention to detail of our hosts.
