Could easily come and go as you like and choose what you wanted for breakfast w hich was very reasonably priced. Also good eat fairly well and inexpensively in the evenings. As the rooms are separate they are more private and you do not have go through the main building but need your coat to get to breakfast!! Plenty of lovely towels, heating, milk, coffee etc. Wifi very good. Staff really good and efficient and solicitous. Also plenty of easy parking and good access from main and for Rye and Winchelsea and all the coast.
Need digital TV which is coming and a mobile signal also being remedied I think. The duvet was a bit thin for a cold night , no extra blanket and the coffee could be better at breakfast. These are minor details and generally it is good for the price.
Staff were helpful. Wifi fast.
Definitely not a 4*! If English breakfast was included in the price it would be worth the money but instead you get a breakfast of toast, cereal, yogurt, old brown bananas and worst of all very mouldy oranges (surprising as the restaurant is clean).
The staff were extremely helpful, especially in offering to help out with problems of our making!
Good food at reasonable prices. Pleasant staff. Good location and less pricey than Rye. Would visit again.
Noisy boiler all night long. Bedrooms and restaurant not in same building. Several steps up to room. Don't recall these being mentioned on the web site. Could not connect to wi-fi
Lovely hotel with friendly staff, excellent food, comfortable rooms and very peaceful. Good base for exploring the surrounding area by car. Good value for money.
Located outside the village with a very steep hill to climb without a pavement and lighting if you wanted to explore village on foot or at night visit the local pub without driving.
Staff were extremely helpful and would definitely stay again. Great food
Slightly noisy rooms. Literally paper thin walls
We had room 6. It was really like a small flat, up a flight of stairs. Very quirky. Everything was brilliant: nice open view over a meadow, clean bathroom with shower, nice comfy bed. We had not 3G but the WIFI comes free in this hotel so it is a plus. The continental breakfast was really good (delicious croissant). Will stay again.
The staff were great and the room was incredibly was astonishingly clean, the team could not have done more!
For the price paid I would expect higher quality (and local) ingredients at breakfast
Staff is very kindness. Room is very pretty.
A nice idea, set out like a motel, with your own 'front door'. The restaurant was excellent and very good value for money with great service. Location is good with Rye and Winchelsea only a short drive away, part of the south coast we really enjoy visiting. We'd certainly book again!
We loved the look of the Lodge, our room was lovely clean and tidy the staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was just right for us.
That we could not stay longer as we had to get home.
Last minute booking - staff were very helpful. Room comfy.
The room was clean and comfortable just what we need for our rest. The food in the resturant was good enjoyable food but nothing special.
The view from my bedroom window was beautiful...gently rolling hills and sheep grazing. Quintessentially English!
The rating it receives suggests it is far more exclusive than it is. It isn't a 4 *, maybe 3* but even so, it doesn't feel welcoming and homely at all.
Well placed for lots of local attractions. Very nive food. Friendly staff. Modern, clean rooms. Great value.
Watch the step down to the bathroom if you have an upstairs room!
Staff friendly Food was good Rooms clean nice and warm
The welcome on arrival, the functionaity of the room, the wide amount of choice on the evening menu, and the way that the meals were presented. The full English Breakfast was superb value at £5.99. We even liked The Boss. Bridget from Calne, Wiltshire.
The arm chair in the room was well worn, and 'sagging'.
Excellent value for money, contemporary furnishings. Very comfortable.
Friendly-good service and good position
noise from kitchen fans affecting bedrooms all the time
Clean and comfortable with helpful and friendly staff.
Had a poor evening meal with grossly overcooked salmon fillet. After complaint had meal cost refunded.
fantastic views across open countryside
show cubicle was quite small
Price Staff Comfy beds Good linen and towels Continental breakfast Plenty of parking
One bath mat was dirty Bedroom door didn't lock from inside
From arrival to departure everything was excellent.
- easy to find - large parking lot - quiet room - comfy beds - good shower
- poor wi-fi
