the rooms are clean and convenient
for the second time now we have had staff waking us up between 8 and 8.30am asking us if everything is alright. For God's sake it is Saturday morning and we want to rest not to be woken up as if we are going to work. It would be best to ask those questions when people are checking out instead of disturbing people on the weekend. Some of us come there on weekends to have a break from the children but instead the same thing we are getting away from is waiting for us at the hotel.
The gym, And the shower in the bedroom
Too many people staying here are in fact refugees as the place is being used as temporary accommodation. They hang around at the entrance and make the place look like an immigration centre. The walls & carpets in the corridors are dark and dirty. Their is always unpleasant smell. The bedroom carpet is a brown colour but needs cleaning, as it is not very clean stains everywhere the bedsheets are stained and do not smell fresh. The breakfast is absolute disgusting don't bother doing it!
Very clean shower room, with excellent water pressure. Easy parking Good location off the M5
Bed linen was old, and carpet was filthy. Crockery at breakfast wasn't laid out well, and items for the breakfast did not look appetizing. Staff were not especially welcoming
The room smelt - established it was the drainage system. Tried to ask for a swap, told the hotel was fully booked. Contacted booking.com, they tried to sort it but nothing got done. Rather disappointing. Worst experience in a long long time.
Breakfast, Gents toilet in the restaurant out of order on Saturday evening. No hand towels in the room just 2 bath towels.
Really liked the gym facilities and the restaurant if you felt hungry
The bed clothes were worn out and the bed should have better quality. Bit of a small room for a double.
Staff were lovely. Dining and lounge areas perfectly adequate and clean. All you can eat buffet continental breakfast. Adequate bedroom with drink making facilities. Great location for access to Dudley and Birmingham. Fine if all you want is somewhere to shower and sleep. Bed was reasonably comfy.
Net curtain was very dirty. Loud music coming from the function room until midnight on the Saturday. Could hear people lifting weights in the gym above while having breakfast which was a bit annoying. Breakfast buffet area a bit hectic as not laid out very well so you can bump into people.
the restaurants' food was quite nice
well the room was dirty an smelt like damp the bed sheets were blood stained all over the room was dirty and felt like a prison cell it was absolutey disgusting so after paying for a room and being there for only 2 hours we decided that we would not allow our worst enemy to sleep in it and went home a waste of money time and effort would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone unless you wanted to catch some kind of disease from it
Staff were reasonably friendly.
Room smelt. During the night it rained and we woke up to hear water dripping onto the table. When we complained to staff they said to speak to manager. Tried times to call him but still haven't been able to speak to him. I certainly won't be going there again!
Gym facilities Room was a good size Staff friendly and helpful
Dark corridors full of men standing in the shadows talking, it felt like a halfway house Guests smoking outside the rooms so the corridors smell of smoke
The room was clean and comfortable and we were given our requested rooms near each other although not next door to each other as requested. We did book a couple of months in advance, requesting this when booking.
We arrived late afternoon and decided to eat before we started to get ready for our night out. We ordered food in the restaurant/bar of the hotel. My friends waited for at least 45 minutes for their food (5 people) and the cheese sandwich received had 2 very small pieces of cheese on. A joke really. I ordered before my friends and was brought the wrong order 4 times, taking over an hour; we ordered burger and fries?!? Each time we corrected them and each time they returned with the wrong order. It cost over £30 for x2 burger and fries and when we finally did receive what we thought was the correct food (1.5 hours after ordering) we didn't have time to eat it so we took it up to our room. We got ready and then attempted to eat our food. Again, the order was wrong!! We'd asked for no sauce but both burgers had sauce on them and we couldn't eat them. Over £30 wasted!! Plus lots of time wasted. The manager was heard 3 or 4 times ordering his bar staff, "you deal with it, I haven't got time". Yes they were busy but the lack of communication simply added to the wait we experienced!
The reception staff when I arrived was ok.
This is not an hotel , it's more like an hostel . The bathroom floor tiles had a cracks in them . The bed linen was not clean . The bed was poor broken slats . We pointed out to the manager. Smell of cannabis in the hallway. In the morning was a bad experience as your trying to get breakfast . This is cause due to the hotel is overrun by asylum seekers. Loud music from mobile phones. I have stopped in several hotels in the Birmingham area and strongly advise anybody to keep away until they address there situations. Next time I will ring the hotel and ask if there have address the situation in the new year. I felt bad having to pay for such poor services. Stay there at your own risk !!!
they gave us our money back very quickly.
1.The first room had wet mould on the walls-they moved us. 2.The second room had very, very, very dirty bed linen. We asked to have our money back.
The room and bathroom were very dirty. The bed was like sleeping on springs, quilt cover stained and pillows disgusting. Breakfast was supposed to start att 6.30am, I had to complain and ask to have the continental breakfast options put out as the staff only put cereal, dry bread and slimy ham out before 8am. I will never use that hotel again!
1st floor as requested Lovely lounge area Good value for money continental Breakfast Pleasant staff Lock on the bedroom door Efficient heating system
Room 200 has obvious large areas of damp on the walls that look horrid and it is necessary to leave the window open to disguise the smell of damp but the traffic noise was excessive. The second room that I insisted on was not properly clean, the toilet hadn't even been flushed! I was not sure if the sheets had been changed so I slept between towels! I have NO confidence in using your hotel ever again.
The shower was very good
The deco was outdated and the sheets were stained. It was horrible
Dirty bedding had to sleep on top of the quilt cover. Very lumpy matress
Large room, good shower room. plenty of parking space.
Continental breakfast was a bit basic. Very busy noisey roads outside, but that is not the fault of the hotel.
I LIKE THE RECEPTIONIST WHO WORK ON SUNDAY SHE WAS MOIST HELPFUL AND KIND THANKS.
I DID NOT LIKE HOW THE KITCHEN STAFF BEHAVE WHEN WE ARRIVED FOR BREAKFAST . ASK FOR A SPOON AND I DID NOT GET IT.
No staff turned in except a cover receptionist who tried her best to help. The chef was an hour and 15 late. There was no clean tables, cutlery or sufficient food for breakfast. We ordered boiled eggs but after waiting 30 minutes we gave up. Disgraceful.
Hotel, layout, easy to find, ideal location, friendly and helpful staff
Beds to hard
Friendly staff, the gym, good showers and well decorated rooms. The chilli buffet is excellent value for your money. The hotel is close to the m5 and therefore easy to find. Great value for money.
At the moment it difficult to get a room due to a large influx of asylum seekers.
Location good. Staff friendly and helpful. Very good buffet meal plus live entertainment.
When I went to check in I was told that they didn't have double room. (Which I had booked) the receptionist then went to make a phone call and all of a sudden there was a room. Once I got into the room it was clear it hadn't been cleaned sink was black glass bottles on the floor in the bathroom all tea and sugar was used and wrappers still on the fest kettle out. Very dirty will not be staying again!
Shiny and modern, very clean and neat. Buffet breakfast was perfect for me, a light early eater.
No telephone in room, no mini fridge to store cool drinks and no laundry service. It seems they are only catering for UK travellers staying short periods. What about international travellers staying for a longer time who need laundry and telephone facilities?
