Clean from inside
Incredibly dirty on the outside, with spiders and Webs hanging fron walls and windows even in the area made to sit outside where massive spiders were hanging right on top where you had to sit.
Beautiful countryside and views
No meals. We knew about this tho.
To access the surrounding area. Nice breakfast. Clean. Friendly staff.
Bit warm, had to open window.
Was nic and clean staff helpful.
That you had to drive to the bar to have a few drinks and therefore couldn't have too many
Trying to find accessible accommodation in the Lake District is not easy. The Lodge had everything. Ease of access to reception, the coffee shop with lots of space between tables, a bedroom with 4 beds and enough space to move around and a wet room too.!!
I like the efficiency of staff, the breakfast, especially the brown bread! Very clean and 'no fuss' . Sometimes with B&B the owners are all too present, but this was friendly and casual. Its in a really good spot for getting out and seeing the Lake district. The road can be a bit noisy at times but the view is lovely.
For me the bed was a bit hard and the pillows a bit hard too. The room was rather hot but those are personal things. I wouldn't have liked to have been here in the hot weather, it would have been stifling I think. Tea from a large urn not briliant.
Rooms were modern and clean, nice breakfast, located outside town so very quiet setting.
No view as rooms have Skylights. Not an issue just something to keep in mind.
Fantastic location, Modern, clean hotel. Great continental breakfast
Good for dog walkers but not if you dont have dogs with you ie, barking in the night. Noisy corridors. You cant hear noise through the party walls of adjoining bedrooms but you can hear when people are coming and going and talking in the corridor, as well as the dogs barking. Beds are also hard.
Good breakfast selection, Central picturesque location, Modern and clean rooms
Close proximity to road... Room ventilation Lack of effective drying facilities
The Lodge was perfectly situated just off the main road which allowed us to easily explore a number of villages such as Keswick, Cockermouth, Grassmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Coniston. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were bright and clean. The continental breakfast was perfect and set you up for a day of exploring. I will definitely be returning here next time I come to the Lakes.
We appreciated the value for money that this contemporary modern and sympathetically designed Lodge offered us.The staff were really helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Plus being able to walk from there up onto the fells was an extra bonus.
The way the fire doors are noisy in the final closure.
Good location by the main road
No window to look out of only a skylight Had to drive to local pub for food
Nothing and would avoid in future
Everything about this awful place
Good spot from which to drive to the Main attractions of the Lake District. Clean, with friendly helpful staff, we had a pleasant couple of nights' stay.
Disappointed that there was no cooked breakfast, no bar, & nowhere to sit & talk after the coffee bar closed at around 9.30 pm.
clean and modern
location and that there was no option for evening meal without leaving the hotel
Size of room (7) for price £100. Unlit car park and not enough spaces,we had to box someone else in.
Comfy bed, good shower and satellite TV.
The room was rather small.
The staff here are courteous and accommodating, however the room we were allocated was far too hot and cramped and featured an interconnecting door to the next room whose TV we could hear. On request we were moved to a much bigger, but unbearably hot room in their building across the canal and accessed by an enclosed footbridge. Friday and Saturday nights feature a fixed price dinner and dance menu at the restaurant. Although the staff were great, this hotel was ridiculous my hot and uncomfortable and we couldn't wait to leave. I parked in the small carpark in front of reception and found paintwork damage from another car whilst parked there. If you do stay here I recommend parking around the right corner from reception in the hotel's bigger carpark.
Excellent location. Breakfast continental but more than adequate. Comfortable and clean room. Parking available.
Location was lovely & the room although quite compact had everything you need
The room was very hot even with the window open, which meant you could hear the traffic
We stayed here for 2 nights from 1st august - 3 august. The room was small but very clean and modern. We had the continental breakfast each morning which was very nice, our only slight criticism would be that there were some flies around the food which was all uncovered, I would suggest that they get something to cover the food in between usage. The location of the hotel was brilliant with Keswick town centre not far at all by car. House keeping we thought was really helpful, a lady knocked halfway through our stay and we were in the room at the time. She was not intrusive at all and simply asked if there was anything we needed, we asked for fresh towels and she came back with them straight away and asked if we needed anything else at all. We would definitely recommend this hotel for the views, price and standard of the hotel you really couldn't asked for much more it really is value for money. We will definitely be booking again if staying in the area in future.
arriving was nice. The Lodge is attractive and appealing. It is supposed to emulate similar facilities in Middle Europe.
room was OK but the windows are too small and there is no circulation of air. I struggled to breathe and even had an asthma attack. There is no restaurant so you are obliged to walk 25 minutes to the King' Head. There is no cooked breakfast. Overall it just doesn't work for me. Sound insulation between rooms and floors is poor
location was good Breakfast good, with reasonable selection.
room was bit warm even with window open! (unusual complaint!)
the breakfast was just perfect Nice spot to stay
nothing all good
