The view of Loch Lomond from the bedroom and the restaurant is unbeatable
No one seems to care for this hotel. The food was poor quality with little flavour. The staff failed to create the sort of friendly efficient welcome that this great location deserves
the location was perfect and relaxing the room size was good it was an enjoyable time
lots of mosquitos
The quality of the food and the situation.
We usually stay in the Graham rooms which we find good and have a lovely view of the lake. Because of lack of availability of Graham rooms we booked room 43, a Munro room. It was a lot more money but we thought it would be a treat after a period of illness. In our opinion it was not worth the extra money. Untill 8pm there is a continuous humming noise from the leisure centre. We did not like the open plan design of the bathroom being only partially divided from the main room. The view of the lake was not as good as the Graham rooms. The carpet was stained. There was a strange odour in the room. The room would benefit from refurbishment and is quite dated. The plumbing was very difficult to figure out especially the bath. It is quite a walk from the room outside to the main hotel. However, when we complained to the reception we were given a complementary bottle of wine. In future, if we could not obtain a Graham room we would stay elsewhere.
Loved the location and the views
Food wasn't that great. Limited choice and over priced
Location view over the loch. Nice room it was for our silver wedding anniversary. Lovely restaurant great breakfast.
Room with balcony afforded uninterrupted view over the loch. Beautiful setting. Staff very friendly, helpful and breakfast first class. Rooms very spacious.
Verdict out on open plan aspect of bath/shower within view of all occupants. Not really an issue though because toilet was private.
Amazing views, beautiful ambience around the hotel, very friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble for them. One of the nicest places I've stayed.
the view, the food, the facility
would have liked a larger bed or twin
Room size and view, open plan rooms
Sone fixtures quite dated and routine repairs done on the cheap in places
the view and the balcony
Food was good. Nice dinner atmosphere.
Run down, needs renovation, restaurant consists of banquet chairs. Understaffed, hence chaos during breakfast. Lounge menu underwhelming.
Beautiful location, with excellent view over the loch. Good selection at breakfast. Central location for sightseeing. Within walking distance of local pub and lovely little Bistro for dinner.
all the rest
no smoking in the room or bin provided for the balcony
Room was not soundproofed enough room 21
the views from our room. rooms were very comfortable. location is perfect.
had a meal in lodge in loch restuarant and was diappointed by little choice.
Lovely scenery, very friendly.
Another pub or two in the village would help
The view from the room was AMAZING, big room also with clean fresh feeling, swimming pool and Jacuzzi, staff was friendly and helpful, walks close by, food was really good and breakfast by the big windows looking out was something else
The only thing they could have done better is to promote the that they have a pool when you arrive, a few spiders when you open the windows to get a bit of air in and the sound of the lapping waves! but that cant be helped
Great location and charming room. Quiet area to relax and enjoy the Lake.
All was good.
The room was no better than a 3 star hotel! The walls paper thin so that you can heat TV & guests in next room chatting. There was a wet patch of carpet outside the toilet door! Wifi was terrible. Very overpriced at $350.00 per night would not recommend even for the good view!
Lovely view Spacious room
Corporate feel Expensive food
Lodge in the loch is the ideal place to stay when you need to relax and chill out. It has great views of the loch from both the bedrooms and the restuarant. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. The menu in the restuarant is good and varied.
The room was fantastic with views over the loch.
The staff could have been friendlier.
The position of the hotel
Restaurant service was exceptionally poor for a four star hotel.
The spa, the views, location and our water Lewis.
The restaurant manager was very grumpy and did not look like he wanted to be there at all !! If you don't like serving the public then get another job mate ! All the other staff were very friendly, especially young Lewis our waiter, thank you for your excellent service. Food was a bit of a mixed bag, my wife's homemade burger was under cooked, our two friends meals were OK , steak pie and mussels, my fish was absolutely superb, they did take the burger off the bill and give us a free round of drinks! And young Lewis would not be more apologetic. Our midday snack of 2 portions of chips were frankly embarrassing!! 2 amazingly corny baskets of chips for over £5 ! With about 20 chips in each basket, come on !! Fine on the table as part of your meal, but as a snack no, not unless your on a diet!!
The biggest attraction to the lodge was the location. We also enjoyed the pool and spa.
There wasn't a great atmosphere in the bar area during the day. We dined in the bar in the evening choosing from the a la carte menu, the service was extremely poor and the staff only seemed to be concerned with the guests dining in the a la carte restaurant. The room was ok but I did expect better before we arrived, in my opinion the rooms could be doing with a small refurbishment, attention to detail!! I would recommend this resort to others but I would say there is better not to far away which I would say is better value for money
