Decor very dated stained, dusty, cannot fathom how it got a 4 star rating the bedroom is all out of step with modern day. ie old telly, horrible paintings on wall, pine cladding that looks dated. Sofabed very old and worn away. Smell of dampness in hotel/muggy air. No gas heating reliant on convector heaters. Cutting through the restaurant get to bedrooms. Paint flaking and needed vacuumed. Plates not cleared from dining room for new guests. Inefficient service no one asked how our meal was or if we needed any drinks, had to go to bar and request a lot of things, not even handed a menu and none on the tables. Hotel smelled like old grannies and sweaty socks. No air con .Just the white meter type leccie meter and a deskfan. No fridge in room although a big gap where one had been installed previously. Congested area at check in lots of bodies and one girl on. Expensive food and daylight robbery drink prices. Like an old mans golf club in parts with horrid tartan carpet and too much slatted wood paneling and grubby photos on wall. Old and tacky inside, yet swish view over the Loch when in dining room. Evening waiting staff slow as a week in the jail. But were very nice not their fault their boss hasnt employed enough of them to provide a smooth and fast service. Bedrooms with open plan shower not great if there with a workmate or someone you would rather not seen your tush. Toilet pan in a cupboard with no sink, have to flush and walk round corner to find sink to wash hands in. Sauna in room a waste of space as didnt use could box the bathroom in and lose it as the hotel has a sauna free for residents anyway. Some info is wrong on booking.coms guide, and out of date , it says guests must leave between 8am and 10am and its any time up to 11am you checkout .
Friendly staff. Swimming pool onsite and spa facilities. Room had balcony and view over Loch Lomond. Free parking. Sauna in our room. Comfy bed. Warm room. Water in taps amazingly hot, in fact could scald you our bathroom had a double sized bathtub. Shower over. His and her sinks. Tasty dining in bar lounge. Warm friendly welcoming staff. People out walking all said hello on passing, nice area. Stunning scenery. Bedroom and bathroom areas cleaned well and hospitality tray plentiful. Stunning views. Restful and quiet hotel no traffic noise, soundproofed walls and no drunks or brats running about, just what the doctor ordered. Price was great at £69 for B&B in a premier room on here. I paid a fair price wouldnt have paid more.
