The location Pretty much most of it ! The hotel is extremely dated and very tired, in terms of decoration, fixtures, fittings etc. Not worth the money we paid for the room, you would get a lot more from a cheap budget line hotel. The rooms, reception, restaurant and spa area all need a complete overhaul. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. But the dirty tablecloth, and wet and dirty plates put us off a little. Overall, we were really quite disappointed.

Very friendly staff and lovely isolated location The building and facilities are worn and dated and the hotel is in need of refurbishment. The swimming pool is of a good size, lighting could be abit brighter but again the leisure club also could do with some refreshing

Room requests at the time of booking are rarely even looked at in this country - I've always wondered why the question is even asked as hotels simply give you the room they want to give you. Not so here. I asked for an end of corridor room and that's exactly what I got. The check-in took less than a minute and the check-out not much longer. No flowery chat, just speedy efficiency. Good internet signal from the room and no additional charge either - you simply obtain the login details from Reception. Rooms are rather tired but spotlessly clean. Highly recommended!!

The staff although very friendly and polite but were generally amatuerish and unprofessional. Receptionist excellent.Room clean but basic. The wholebuilding is clearly in a bad state of repair with paint flaking off in the bathroom. Furniture in all the public areas dirty and worn. Damp patches on ceilings, dirty walls in corridors.Worn carpets.Poor and shabby exterior. Building looks beyond economical repair.

Very outdated decor. The whole hotel needs a refurbishment. At the price similar to other hotels in the reagion this is not good value for money. Resturant is basic pub food at the low end of the market. I

The whole atmosphere from start to finish of a friends birthday was excellent, the staff worked tirelessly throughout the day and provided great service. The cost of the room and the facilities we very resonable and would not hesitate to re-book for another stay. All in all a wonder stay and a lasting memory of catching up with old and new friends.

What did we think of our stay-Not a lot! It's shabby and the public rooms are in a real mess. Our room was ok but the bathroom old and well used. Whilst the dining room on the surface looked ok, the skirting boards were dirty as was the carpet. Breakfast was chaotic, and poor quality food. The bar chairs dirty and the windows and curtains needed cleaning. The Pool area dirty, Spa bath, steam room and Sauna not on, Club Members said they were fed up!. Faulty Fire alarm woke us up at 5.45 am.Fire Brigade called! . No receptionist in the Hotel the Beauty Therapist was doing two jobs. Outside the main doors were hundreds of cigarette stubs and no landscaping done in a long time.Apparently they have had 4 managers in 12 months!!! Oxford Hotels should be ashamed. We last stayed 2 years ago and it' was bad then, but not this bad. Nothing but the view from our room over the Golf Club.

My wife and myself have stayed at the Suffolk Hotel several times and we hope to carry on staying there, it has a relaxing atmosphere, an excellent gym in fact one of the finest I have ever used and a brilliant breakfast. Nothing to dislike, we have never been dissapointed with any of our stays at the hotel

It was a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful. The room was clean and tidy with a nice view over the golf course and an extremely comfortable and large bed. All the room facilities were good. The meals were freshly cooked and reasonable value for money. There was plenty of car parking. The swimming pool was shut due to staff shortages. Some of the stairwells leading to the bar and restaurant are in very poor decorative state.

Breakfast was good Evening meal menu -uninspiring The walls and floors are paper thin so becomes noisy. Lack of appropriate staff leaving facilities (pool, jacuzzi, gym& sauna) closed. Lack of attention to basic details in restaurant E.G. No condiments on tables, repeatedly & dirty cutlery. Newspapers charged at double retail price.

The staff were friendly & helpful, the surrounding countryside and views were lovely, it was well sign posted and easy to find, it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay I would recommend this hotel to family and friends The shower was hard to control, either too hot or too cold. The wedding ceremony room was a bit dowdy and needing a make over (I took price list etc for a friend's daughter who is looking for a wedding venue) some of the paint and woodwork needed attention.

Convenient location for the purpose of the trip. Nice location overlooking the golf course. Plenty of car parking space. The complex had much more to offer than we required for this particular visit which was a family funeral. Being a golf complex and very snowy conditions the hotel was relatively empty. Experience in the dining room left a bit to be desired - we were directed to the dining room without being told we could eat from the same menu in the bar. We waited more than 30 mins for our food whilst people who came into the bar after us were served ahead of us. When we left the bar to go into the dining room there were only 2 people in the bar. Before we got our food at least 8 meals passed through the room to serve people in the bar. Staff were young and pleasant but did not appear competent for that position. Rather spoiled the visit.

It was warm and reached expectations. Expectations were not high as Trip Advisor correctly stated it is ready for refurbishment. It functioned well with an enjoyable breakfast experience. This is a complement to all the staff, who were doing a good job. Its location on the golf course gives it potential to move upmarket. Nearly everything has reached a stage that it can be criticised because it is very old and battered. The basic facilities are cheap and functional. Look at shower curtains (tatty), bath panel (cracked), beds (soft with an unsuttle reminder that they have springs), woodwork that has not seen a top coat for many years. It is placed into that group of successful functional unexciting tatty accommodation. It is recommended by me as doing its job well, but the building gets zero stars for luxury.
