Very enjoyable. Since last visit May 2011 breakfast is now serve yourself buffet, much better. Beds in room (307) were a little too springy for my and my son's liking, hotel was too hot, but balconies very welcome.

Facilities and room very good. Food excellent. Shame that the steam room wasnt working and that the bar had a couple of loud drunk golfers in there watching The Open, who should have been told 'no more'' long before 7pm.

Convenient location for the purpose of the trip. Nice location overlooking the golf course. Plenty of car parking space. The complex had much more to offer than we required for this particular visit which was a family funeral. Being a golf complex and very snowy conditions the hotel was relatively empty. Experience in the dining room left a bit to be desired - we were directed to the dining room without being told we could eat from the same menu in the bar. We waited more than 30 mins for our food whilst people who came into the bar after us were served ahead of us. When we left the bar to go into the dining room there were only 2 people in the bar. Before we got our food at least 8 meals passed through the room to serve people in the bar. Staff were young and pleasant but did not appear competent for that position. Rather spoiled the visit.

The sheets were good Bar and restaurant staff were not very attentive, breakfast particularly bad! The bar area was really cold, with no sofas or chairs to properly relax in, sky sports on the large tv dominated the room. Staff disappear for long periods meaning second drink, mustard etc were delayed. My bathroom was shabby and smelt damp (stained on wall) Moved rooms and second was better. I would not stay here again.

Very smooth check-in, friendly staff and comfortable room. Good location for our purpose (wedding at Hengrave Hall) and good value. The room had a smell when we checked into it. Although it largely disappeared there was still a trace. No facial tissues available and there was a very loud noise in the early hours of the morning - sounded like a big piece of machinery being used.

It was warm and reached expectations. Expectations were not high as Trip Advisor correctly stated it is ready for refurbishment. It functioned well with an enjoyable breakfast experience. This is a complement to all the staff, who were doing a good job. Its location on the golf course gives it potential to move upmarket. Nearly everything has reached a stage that it can be criticised because it is very old and battered. The basic facilities are cheap and functional. Look at shower curtains (tatty), bath panel (cracked), beds (soft with an unsuttle reminder that they have springs), woodwork that has not seen a top coat for many years. It is placed into that group of successful functional unexciting tatty accommodation. It is recommended by me as doing its job well, but the building gets zero stars for luxury.

Good swimming pool. Staff courteous and helpful. Comfortable bed. Decent desk to work at. Pleasant views. Bathroom showing its age. Lavatory bowl badly stained and original lavatory seat replaced with a wooden one which was not properly secure. Mold on sealant around bath.

Went for a spa day which is located at the hotel and so it was a case of just going up in a lift to the pool and spa area. It's about 5 miles out of Bury but a taxi costs £6 each way. The hotel has a good swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym - free for guests. It offers spa treatments as extras. It's a tired looking hotel like most people say but it wasn't dirty or unclean. It feels more like a motel or a golf club with a hotel thrown onto the side of it as an after thought. Breakfast wasn't fantastic but it's all there. Booking.com saved me £30 on the room which cost me £50 each night- I wouldn't have been happy to pay any more.

It was a last minute value for money booking in a nice location and our visit was in January. Convenience and also pleasantly located venue which I would describe as 3 Star compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Staff were very helpful. Decor was a little tired, although the room had a balcony which I would think would be an asset in Summer months.

Very Iittle! Was shocked at how strong the smell of smoke was in the corridor leading to my bedroom - it was awful! Room was ok on first impression but when I tried to sleep it was very hot, I was in a ground room floor which meant I couldn't open a window (being a solo female), I can only assume there is maybe rubber sheeting underneath the bedding or something which made it very uncomfortable (bear in mind this is early January!) then the person in the room above was walking around for what felt like all night - the noise was so loud which makes me think the quality of the building was not good as I should not have been that disturbed! Breakfast didn't start until 7 when I had to leave and I wasn't offered the opportunity to get even a bowl of cereal - very unimpressed - if this had been a Premier TravelInn I would have definitely wanted a refund - I would like a full refund for possibly the worst nights sleep ever!

“I found the standard to be very good - worked out perfectly for my family, who really enjoyed it. It was relaxed, fun and friendly. Especially important to us at the moment was money as we have to be very cautious with it, so I really wanted this stay to be ideal - and it was.” Andy, Enfield |
