Very enjoyable. Since last visit May 2011 breakfast is now serve yourself buffet, much better. Beds in room (307) were a little too springy for my and my son's liking, hotel was too hot, but balconies very welcome.

Facilities and room very good. Food excellent. Shame that the steam room wasnt working and that the bar had a couple of loud drunk golfers in there watching The Open, who should have been told 'no more'' long before 7pm.

It was a last minute value for money booking in a nice location and our visit was in January. Convenience and also pleasantly located venue which I would describe as 3 Star compared to other hotels I have stayed in. Staff were very helpful. Decor was a little tired, although the room had a balcony which I would think would be an asset in Summer months.

Friendly staff, although had a touch of the Cawley towers element when it came to decor, needs an urgent makeover! Food was very limited as well as the breakfast.

Very Iittle! Was shocked at how strong the smell of smoke was in the corridor leading to my bedroom - it was awful! Room was ok on first impression but when I tried to sleep it was very hot, I was in a ground room floor which meant I couldn't open a window (being a solo female), I can only assume there is maybe rubber sheeting underneath the bedding or something which made it very uncomfortable (bear in mind this is early January!) then the person in the room above was walking around for what felt like all night - the noise was so loud which makes me think the quality of the building was not good as I should not have been that disturbed! Breakfast didn't start until 7 when I had to leave and I wasn't offered the opportunity to get even a bowl of cereal - very unimpressed - if this had been a Premier TravelInn I would have definitely wanted a refund - I would like a full refund for possibly the worst nights sleep ever!

Location Not happy at all booked disabled room but no room available to us. Staff did not read booking form, No disabled toilets near bar & resturant and room bathroom almost impossible with wheelchair. Room not clean cobwebs hanging from light fitting. Young staff in bar & resturant tried to be pleasent but obviously had not received any customer service training. Everning meal was terrible my wife had to sent hers back as food was raw. At breakfast next morning guests at next two tables to us commented on our return of food to inform us that they each had problems with thier meals. The hotel did give a discount for inconvience of the room .

Staff are lovely, Leisure suite Fab. Don't do golf so can't comment but there were a lot of people on the course so can't be bad. Hotel is looking a bit tired and the sound insulation between rooms and floors could be a lot better, bring ear plugs.

The pool was lovely and warm. The bed was nice and the room lovely I was extremely disappointed by the food in the resturant. We had decided to eat that evening at the hotel because the bar staff said it was good food.My meal was not good value and my vegetables were hard and the meat tough and at a cost of around £10 for a main meal l feel it was over priced. I also was talking to other dinners the next morning at breakfast and they all said the same thing about the meals so l really feel they either need to get a new cheif or lower the price and also they should have a nice menu to look at not just a peice of paper. This was my wedding aniversairy and to have such a poor meal on such an occassion is really upsetting and i wish we had eaten out now. I didnt say anything at the time as i dont like to cause a fuss and draw attention to myself and it wasnt that bad that it was inedable just very below standard.

Convenient location for Bury St Edmunds. Attractive setting on the golf course. The hotel is looking pretty tired and would benefit from a much-needed re-decorate to bring it up to today's standards. The rooms are functional but sparse. For a similar (if not cheaper) price, Premier Inn and similar offers better value for money and a more modern feel.

Comfortable room, excellent power shower. Beautiful grounds. Poor food and limited menu. I had a room which had an adjoining door to another and although it was locked I could hear the guests in the next room including their alarm clock!

“I found the standard to be very good - worked out perfectly for my family, who really enjoyed it. It was relaxed, fun and friendly. Especially important to us at the moment was money as we have to be very cautious with it, so I really wanted this stay to be ideal - and it was.” Andy, Enfield |
