the room was really clean and comfortable and the food was great although we loved the room, it was really cold all the time !! also we only had breakfast at the hotel as the evening meals were very pricey (£16 - £22). because of this, we thought the hotel was nice but maybe not worth the money we spent to stay there!! |

The food was exceptional, including the breakfast (the best we have had in the Lakes). The staff were very friendly and helpful.The bar and restaurant is very classy,add to that exellent food,great service and ice cold beer in a proper glass,an owner and staff you can chat to casually;you have a guest house i would recommend to anybody one small downside was that the rooms, although very nice and apt for the lakes including the beams-may need a quick makeover ie new carpets.apart from that nothing else to dislike and in no way did this spoil our stay |

The Log House is only a short walk to the centre of Ambleside. We have just enjoyed another weekend break there, the service was excellent,we enjoyed a hearty breakfast and the meal we had in the restaurant was superb. The decor of the rooms is lovely and the beds very comfortable. |

My partner and I stayed here in Sept 09, and found the hotel a great base to get around and see what the Lakes are all about, fresh air great food and real ale, FAB |

The food was sensational and not too expensive for a romantic break! The rooms were quaint and comfortable.Excellent location a few minutes walk from the centre of ambleside. |

the room was nice with a good breakfast , the staff where realy pleasent and helpfull and they also served a good pint of amstell checkout was a bit early at 10.30 but we where late and nothing was said |

Friendly welcome. Excellent food - about £80 for 2 including house wine. Good tv with dvds. Excellent walk-in shower. It really is a log house with 3 bedrooms A little noisy during the daytime as it is beside a busy road in Ambleside but quiet at night. Small tight staircase |

The friendly staff, the food was excellent, the hotel was clean, the location was handy for the towns restaurants and pubs and central for visaiting the areas attractions Parking was restrictive but there was addtional parking across the road. |

The welcome was extremely friendly and first impressions of the place were excellent. We were not at all disappointed by the room and the location being a short walk from Ambleside was great. Breakfast was excellent as was the service throughout, we wished we had had time in the evening to sample the restaurant as the menu looked (and smelt!!) fantastic! We will next time as we are sure to return, |
