Central location, good choice of breakfast and friendly staff.
Basic facilities for the money.
nice hotel breakfast
no food in evenings
Not as it looks online the hotel needs an overhaul for price charged. Breakfast tasted like cheapest food and although the receptionist was helpful the guy there wasn't quite so accommodating when we asked to borrow a corkscrew as the bar has shut down you would have thought we had asked for his lung!
Don't look too closely it's shabby and overpriced. Garden was lovely but the broken furniture and fact they had no bar or restaurant spoilt the fact they didn't encourage you to sit out for fear of being locked out! Shame as clearly it was probably once thriving.
Great location. Lovely staff. Nice breakfast in the morning.
The hotel has no car parking but there is a long stay car park around the corner - £1 for 24 hours. It is a problem though for dropping off luggage. The hotel was also a bit noisy with other guests going to their rooms at night and in the morning for breakfast.
right in the heart of the village close to local facilities
no bar/restaurant on site
Overpriced and looking tired
Great central position Friendly helpful staff Very clean Enjoyed breakfast
Very warm throughout hotel
I was participating in the annual keswick to barrow walk. Staff organised a packed lunch for us to collect at 5 in morning. Also left behind a pair of trousers and they phoned to kept me know inside 30 mins of checking out.
Very comfortable bed. I was upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi bath which was a special treat. Breakfast also very good.
The location to the pubs.
The first view of the Hotel was fair till you had a good look and noticed dead flowers in window boxes outside, the benches in garden rotten and all inside wants painting. The beds were so soft you felt like you were sinking and to be waken at 7.50 in the morning by loud talking staff plus who`s idea to have the tv on in the breakfast area. I think this Hotel is very over priced and is using its location as its charm so as we come to Ulverston 2 or 3 times a year we will be giving it a big MISS !
Nice modern comfortable room and bed
The room was clean and well presented.
It was hot. On arrival it took some time to find someone despite using the internal phone as directed.
Friendly staff, lovely room and fabulous garden. As a lone female traveller I felt safe here and the proximity to the town centre was excellent
I would find it a bit pricey should I be considering this for a family break
We stayed in a room with a four poster bed, spa bath and a beautiful view of the garden. The staff were friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Very clean and comfortable.
Whilst the full English breakfast was good unfortunately it was not warm enough - it was also brought out before time to finish cereal/grapefruit etc.
Friendly staff ! Nice rooms, cosy and comfortable. Lovely breakfast.
Bedroom was a superior romm and was quite spacious. Bed was comfortable and room clean. The hotel its self was nice and in the town center. Would I stop again! Yes.
Breakfast was cold but there was plenty to eat so although I have put this as a not like I would not let this put anyone off staying here.
Owners horrific lack of basic customer service Dirty Windows did not open TV did not work Uht milk curdled Wallpaper coming off walls Food was average quality Overpriced for outdated rooms Needed a good clean and revamp!
cleanliness comfort friendly and helpful staff freshly cooked breakfast excellent shower/bathroom
lack of restaurant (closed some time ago) noisy outside on Friday night (pub opposite) no lift but staff organised ground floor room for my mum and also would have supplied breakfast on that floor rather than on lower floor
The four poster bed and jacuzzi. The location and the friendly staff.Breakfast was also very good.
Problems with getting the heat right with the shower and no bar. Also no hotel car park.
