Very friendly and helpful
Staff were excellent and service very efficient, food was good and hot, rooms comfortable
Very little- rooms above the live music area can be a bit noisy but it's all over by 11pm.
The staff were superb, they got a little confused at breakfast but it was very busy. The room was clean and attended each day.
We went for the spa bath but couldn't really use it because it was so noisy and right over the function room. No separate shower. Very uncomfortable and squeaky bed.
Excellent restaurant, good breakfast. Friendly locals in the bar and there's a beer garden too!
Nice and quiet.
Room in loft was cramped, got out of bed and my head hit ceiling. Toilet like a cupboard. Paid too much for small room.
There wasn't one thing we could complain about, really! From the cheerful friendly greeting to the checking out, everything was just perfect. 3 nights from Friday through to Monday morning, spa room, comfy double bed, clean towels every day, excellent food and bar second to none, live music each night. Well done and a big thank you to the hard working Liz, Ralph and the team. Next time we're down this way, we will be staying here.
Nothing at all!
The real country pub atmosphere the beer and food second to none
Absolutely nothing to dislike
Lovely country pub. The food in the restaurant was good but felt rushed to get our starters finished which was a problem as the soup was scorching hot and for a 6 year old. Plenty choice for breakfast.
Unfortunately the shower didn't work very well and when I opened the curtains in the morning they came off in my hand as there were no stops on the rails, it was the same in my daughter's room. A few cobwebs and spiders too. Would still consider staying again though.
Staff were friendly and helpful, the service in the restaurant was speedy and the food of a high quality. The room was bright and comfortable.
As a business traveller I rely on a good Internet connection, this was poor at the best of times and when I was able to get a connection it was dreadfully slow.
we only stayed one night, but would recommend it for short stays. arrived wed evening special offer on weds steak and all the trimmings £10 great meat. room very good and clean toilet area a bit small
Friendly service and very warm welcome Very accommodating with regard to our arrival which was at 1am, because of delays on the ferry. Breakfast was very nice. The rooms were very quiet. The beds were very comfortable.
The shower was a bit small.
The spa bath also having the shower being in the bedroom without ant shower screen or curtain. Made it difficult to have shower without wetting the carpet.
Staff friendly and helpful. Comfortably furnished room in traditional style. Good freshly cooked breakfast
Just a niggle. Wifi didn't want to work saying connection too slow. But since it was free we didn't complain.
Food good ,good value for money nothing to much trouble will book again thanks
Helpful staff, friendly atmosphere. Great breakfast. Loved the beer! Would stay again.
Staff, spa bath!, area and food, especially breakfast
Staff extremely friendly. Food very good.
Rooms very hot and airless. Needs air con.
The staff were superb, the food was excellent as was the beer. The band that played on the Saturday night were great. In terms of ease of getting about, there was no problem and it was excellent value for money.
Spending time during the year in hotels for at least 2 nights a week, I have to say that there is nothing at this hotel that I can criticise. If you are looking for 4/5 star luxury then forget it. Good quality customer service is the thing at the Lugger. We will return!
An excellent breakfast and carvery.
We liked the wide selection of malt whiskies.
The food was adequate for an overnight stay but I would have probably gone elsewhere for dinner if staying longer.
Room very comfortable, food at breakfast and evenings (extra) was superb. I enjoyed the spa bath despite worries over carpet and curtains, etc.
WiFi ok but a little slow.
The staff went out of their way to be of assistance. We had to leave at 7am to catch our ferry but they got up early to provide us with breakfast even though they did not start serving til 8am normally. Nothing was too much trouble.
There was live music in the bar when we got back at night which was fantastic.....really enjoyed it....although if I'd wanted an early night I might not have been so happy! - The staff were very friendly....and although the decor was not to my taste it was clean.
Overall we did like it - but the decor was traditional English Pub (flowery bedspread!)....but on the other hand it is a traditional english pub! - so thats what we expected. ..oh and the sausages could have been better - but overall it was fine!
friendly welcoming good service
the beer wine and excellent choice of whiskeys Nice breakfasts good menu First class friendly staff..plus Friday Saturday live music Plenty of outside seating Good car parking
Having to leave after three nice days !
