Location, view, cleanliness and decor. Very good breakfast, very helpful staff
Incessant 50 and 60's music in the restaurant. Condensation on the windows can spoil the view.
Size of bed, cleanliness and happy staff (lovely young lady all weekend). Location was fab and we would definitely stay again
Bed was a little soft but that is a personal preference. No choice to have dinner on Sat night as Restaurant was shut.
The view and food.
Great location, character hotel, good food and service, helpful staff, spacious and comfortable rooms- and great view of the sea.
Our daughters would say 'the lack of Nutella at breakfast'!
Excellent location, very relaxing. Good food and service throughout our stay.
Evening meals served between 6-7.30, a little too early for our liking
Great location and sea views
In need of an update!
Most amazing location with superb views. We were in the blue room which was spacious, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable.
Breakfast 8.15-9.30. Maybe till 10am particularly at weekends?
The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive; nothing too much trouble. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice. Very comfortable room with plenty of space and comfy bed and sofa. Beautiful view over the river and wooded valley. A peaceful retreat.
Poor vegetarian choice on dinner menu. No shower in ensuite but advised that hotel will shortly be undergoing renovation and refurbishment which will address this. Rock and roll music playing in the dining room.
The sea view from room, lounge and restaurant. Within easy walk of Lynton's shops and cafes.
Evening meals were all of the "casserole" type; no steaks etc.
Stunning views from restaurant, lovely breakfast, friendly waiting staff
Having to wake up the maid to check-in on Friday afternoon, rather "adult" restaurant menu (bit rich for young daughter, so had to eat elsewhere - not that anywhere else was open, so went to bed hungry), no bar staff/ambience evident, poorly fitted shower room, unengaging receptionist, dirty bedside drawers (old sweet residue inside), post war mattress. Generally seemed a bit pricey and a little tired.
Comfort, Stunning room, very comfortable, Tasty breakfast
Could not fault the service and staff
Location is superb, and views across the Bristol Channel Room was really nice, roomy, and very clean Welcoming staff, and super restaurant, with an excellent menu, and at very reasonable cost Will definitely make a return visit
The location was lovely we had beautiful views from our room the four poster bed was very comfortable
The view, our room, breakfast (wow!), location
Views from the hotel are stunning, including the dining room and bar, even the car park!
The food was ok, but disappointing and lacked lustre. Less choice done better would suit us more.
The location, the hotel building and furnishing, clean and well supplied with all you could want.
The food and staff were not quite up to the standard set by the location and hotel itself.
The hotel was a great base for walking along parts of the south west coast path
Enjoyed everything about the hotel, particularly the mattresses....they were so comfortable
Very good service room was excellent with plenty tea ,coffee and toiletries .Beautiful location and excellent breakfast. All staff very friendly ad helpful will definitely stay again.
Evening meal menu choice of food
The location, and the way the hotel is positioned to take advantage of it. Plus it's comfortable and characterful and the food is good.
Nothing really - odd minor thing like bathroom window difficult to close.
Very well appointed and decorated. Friendly staff.
Local walking. Good food. Great room in loft area.
Superb location with views from Room 3 to sea, cliffs and East Lyn Valley from both the bed and the armchairs. Good range of meals from local sources. Very comfortable. Good center for walking to Valley of the Rocks, Hollerday Hill and East Lyn Valley to Watersmeet.
Nothing really. Plenty of gluten-free meals but if you were a vegetarian you might find the evening menu a bit sparse - but great for meat-eaters!
Beautiful views across to wales.comfy beds.
Breakfast choices were limited 3 choices of cereal, no fresh fruit, bit stingy on cooked breakfast.
Fantastic view, quite and relaxing rooms , staff great.
Shower a bit weak but hey this is an old building.
